How do you lot eat beans on toast?

Personally I like to have toast on a plate and beans in a bowel, then make small sandwiches (the kind where you fold the bread in half, like a chip buttii) but I've heard some people put the toast on a plate and then put the beans ontop and eat it with a knife and fork.
sixdeadlysins@reddit
It's called beans ON toast, not IN toast for a reason.

Fair point, we'll made, it's also not called beans ON my hands
sixdeadlysins@reddit
I recommend cutlery.
Mikon_Youji@reddit
You can easily wash your hands after. No big deal.

Cheese and splash of Worcester sauce or hendos on the toast first.
Maybe sprinkle of chilli flakes.
incrediblepepsi@reddit
a chip what
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
There's a different comment thread on that. Turns out I don't know how to spell
incrediblepepsi@reddit
It's nbd, it was funny!
riscos3@reddit
I think the name is the clue... beans ON toast. Eat it how YOU like, but it is not called toast next to beans ;)

Quick question: how do you make a toad in the hole?
Mikon_Youji@reddit
Cook sausages until hot, pour batter over. Cook again.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
So, not an actual toad in a hole? Because that's what the name is
Mikon_Youji@reddit
The sausages represent toads for...some reason. Nobody really knows why, just how it is.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
That is correct, this was meant to be a clever rebuttal, but then I realised it made no sense whatsoever
EitherChannel4874@reddit
2 buttered toast on the plate. Cover with beans then some grated cheese and I have 2 more bits of buttered toast cut in half to dip.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
A fine choice
Jamieb284@reddit
I mean the beans will eventually end up in my bowel but I don't eat them out of there
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Seems like a skill issue
The_Wallet_Smeller@reddit
Buttii??? LOL
EverybodySayin@reddit
A buttii does sound tastier than a butty. Like some kind of Indian dish.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Lmao, that was a typo, (ofc I meant bowl)
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Yeah, when you fold a piece of bread in half with chips in the centre, this is common in my west Midlands dialect 🤷♀️
The_Wallet_Smeller@reddit
I know what one is kid. I also know never in a million years is it spelt line that.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Lol I asked my brother how to spell it, that's what he told me, I've never seen it written down
The_Wallet_Smeller@reddit
I seriously hope you are 12.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Uh, not sure where that came from, but I'm 15, if you must know
Peskycat42@reddit
Lightly toast the bread.
Top with a slice of ham and lashings of cheese
Toast again until cheese is melty.
(Optional, cut now into bitesize squares).
Top with cold beans (yeah I know, but I think heating does something to the taste).
Top with a fried egg with a lovely runny centre.
Drizzle some sweet chilli sauce on top.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Sounds delicious (except the cold beans, idk what beans your buying, but I've always despised cold beans) but also sounds like way too much effort to be doing regularly tho lol
Peskycat42@reddit
I understand most people disagree on the cold baked beans, but I have tried everything from the huge catering cans, to Branston or Heinz, I always think they taste better before they are heated.
Annoyingly, I was thinking about going to bed, and now I am salivating.
It's comfort food for me.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Same lol, I'm literally laying in bed wanting beans on toast now, why have I done this to myself!?
As for the cold beans: I really have no explanation, but if eating them cold makes you happier, all the more power to ya mate
EverybodySayin@reddit
> I've heard some people put the toast on a plate and then put the beans ontop and eat it with a knife and fork.
From what I gather, that's how almost everyone eats it.
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
Yeah, I only recently found that out, it always felt weird to me; eating toast with a knife and fork, but maybe that's just me.
Hot-Box1054@reddit
Brown or white bread, don’t care. Toasted to really brown level and smothered in margarine (yes I’m a marg person, not butter). Half a tin of beans microwave to warm, pour over the toast. If I’m feeling really festive might add some grated cheese on top. Like to drink a coke with it. That’s about it.
prawntortilla@reddit
beans in microwave 3 minute, 2 piece of toast, then i just rip the toast up into the beans and grate a stupid amount of cheese and mash it all together
cant be fucked using knife and fork and all that nonsense
Free-Question-1614@reddit (OP)
You got me at cheese, ngl
