incoming glock fanboys telling everyone this is cheap junk that malfunctions more than it shoots
SignalArmory@reddit (OP)
Im personal gutting the insides and putting one of my custom FRTs in it, so I expect a bit of tuning. My other dagger has no problems though, I don't understand the hate.
omahusker@reddit
The gucci boys hate psa because they make alot of shit with 90% the quality for 30% of the price
Affectionate-Soil161@reddit
I dont mind cheap stuff, but what I didnt like hearing was that the Dagger slide rails are part of the injected mold instead of a seperate metal insert like a glock. I have a Derya glock clone and the inards are almost identical, and both quality. I like the cuts on the Dagger but would rather swap a dagger slide over to my Derya since I know itll never break the rail and fly off.
Danny_PSA@reddit
The Daggers have locking block and rear rail inserts, not integrated.
The Micro Dagger has integrated front and rear rails, like the 43X/48.
Affectionate-Soil161@reddit
My bad, I didnt mean to misinform. That was just what I had heard from a previous owners, and they didnt specify which model they had bought, but I had just bought a new 9 myself so I didnt feel a need to investigate. I do like the looks of them and have been curious. I love PSA products in general, I'm actually picking up a .300 blk pistol ya'll shipped me tomorrow!
possum-fucker@reddit
Thats a failure ive literally never heard about
Scrap_Osama@reddit
I just make the dagger Gucci
Loud_Dumps@reddit
I’ve seen enough malfunction and I would not bet my life on it
edgarapplepoe@reddit
Mine didn't malfunction but wow it was the least accurate gun I have shot.
iBuyHardware@reddit
Is this what I want for my first gun? Conflicted between this and the more expensive with suppressor height sights
Temporary_Traffic622@reddit
I would spend the extra 100 to get the ruger RXM. Brand is more reputable, good warranty, optics cut, fcg design, night sights… I don’t think I’ll sell my Glock to get the RXM but thought about it lol my night sights on their own were $100 + upgrade. Not even optics cut.
Purple_Season_5136@reddit
Another 100 and you're into actual used glock territory as well. Those rxms do be looking pretty sweet though.
platformterrestial@reddit
Usually the big police tradein sites have Glock 17 gen 4s for $300 plus tax, it's a real solid deal. Sometimes even with good night sights.
justjaybee16@reddit
GT Distributing still has G17.4's w/2 mags for $299. Lots of holster wear, but i bet the interals are fine.
M3L0NM4N@reddit
I got a 17.5 w 2 mags and Ameriglos from them for 319 a while back and it looked like it had barely been used.
justjaybee16@reddit
yeah, i wish i had jumped on that deal, those pistols looked good and i could use it as an excuse to do some custom stuff to my old G17.3 trade-in pistol.
Drexx_Redblade@reddit
Yes, but then you have to spend another \~$200 to get suppressor height sights and the slide cut on your trade-in Glock. So $500-$550 for the Glock vs $350 for the RXM. You'll also probably want to chop the Glock's frame if you don't have weird Austrian wrists, so that's another $150, if you're not handy with a Dremel.
Purple_Season_5136@reddit
Lmao hardly anybody chops their glock frame. Everything else you're right
fluxdeity@reddit
I wouldn't trust my life to a PSA Dagger. But hey, this is Reddit where everyone is always wrong. So go ahead and get one and EDC it.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Ruger RMX over this all day.
Moist_Fortune_6969@reddit
Get the ruger RXM. It comes standard with many of the initial upgrades people get for their Glock (metal night sights, optics cut, flared magwell, more aggressive grip stippling) and is a reliable shooter. Also the fcg can be put into different grips, effectively giving you access to a full size frame or subcompact.
wormraper@reddit
they're not bad (I have 3 of them), but they're NOT on the same quality as a glock. Honestly, for the price, I'd pick up one of the $300-$350 PD trade in glocks that are glutted on the market the last few months. You'll have a time tested glock that's been treated well by the PD armorer, and vetted. the PSA is a fun enough range toy, but that's all I'd rank it as (and I like mine).
if you're buying your first gun, I'd reccomend something that is time tested and battle proven over a toy by a company who pumps out lots of range goodies, but isn't carried by any mililtary or LEO agency
StaryWolf@reddit
Depends on how much money you're willing to spend.
omahusker@reddit
I would atleast get one with the optics cut slide in case you decide you want to try a red dot in the future
iBuyHardware@reddit
Yeah I probably do want a red dot. What's the next step up on sale? Or is this cheap enough that I'd still be gold after buying a cut slide?
omahusker@reddit
I won’t lie I don’t have one of these yet but I doubt they are too expensive. Check out the dagger section on PSA’s website and if you want a different version, keep an eye on their daily deals page
SignalArmory@reddit (OP)
If youre brand new to firearms, this will definitely outshoot you. Even after a mag and some ammo youll still be around $300. Also plenty of people running daggers just fine. Honestly I say go for it. You can always change the sights or even the whole slide later if you want to. Its all glock 19 parts so there are TONS of upgrade paths.
derfmcdoogal@reddit
Those carry cuts are EXTREME!
TheHeavyWeapon@reddit
I’ve always described the Dagger as a Glock that drinks mountain dew
Danny_PSA@reddit
…..I don’t hate it. 😂😂😂
Deut30and11@reddit
Blue Mountain Dew fer sure.
SignalArmory@reddit (OP)
Okay this is funny as hell.
