My most recent failure in the kitchen…

This is crockpot chicken and rice. Or at least it’s supposed to be.
Griffithead@reddit
Chicken in a slow cooker sucks. Well, it can taste fine, but it's going to look bad.
Part of that is cheap chicken. Poorly trimmed and pumped full of water and other things.
Pan fried on the stovetop is the way to go.
PGHxplant@reddit
Looks like you stumbled onto what’s essentially a chicken congee concoction. Add some pepper and try serving over biscuits.
Equivalent_Opening85@reddit (OP)
It definitely reminded me of congee except some of the rice was undercooked somehow.
Over biscuits does sound good. Despite my terrible cooking skills, I’m actually a decent baker. I bet some cheddar biscuits would be pretty damn good with this
Disastrous_Soup_7137@reddit
This would go great with biscuits
maxru85@reddit
Is it contagious?
Fresh_Wolverine_9982@reddit
Downvote for the food+downvote for the crockpot liner
fsociety-AM@reddit
Wait, what’s wrong with using a liner
the_amatuer_@reddit
Nothing, it makes is much easier for the microplastics to get into your system.
fsociety-AM@reddit
Oooh okay, I get you. I work at a restaurant and almost everything we make we use liners like this so it didn’t even occur to me.
Equivalent_Opening85@reddit (OP)
Lmao I have a hairline crack in the ceramic so I have to use the liner. Also I hate washing dishes
ThePennedKitten@reddit
Yeah, I don’t feel like that’s safe. It kind of sounds like a ticking time bomb.
Eastern_Sweet8508@reddit
Buy a new crockpot babygirl
whyyy66@reddit
Mmm microplastics
PawnWithoutPurpose@reddit
Mmmmmm…. Tastes like microplastics
Jeramy_Jones@reddit
If you wanna eat like that you can get soup from a can.
Also, extra shade because you’re using a liner.
Illenaz@reddit
Total, utter failure
Whatever801@reddit
Micro plastic infused cat yak
LostinQuiddity@reddit
It looks like the inside of chicken pot pie, or through in some dough and call it dumplings
nathan420@reddit
Fuck you yanks are lazy. Plastic disposable plates and cutlery and cups and now this shit.
JEGiggleMonster@reddit
Looks like a luch I had in grade school lol
SoyboyCowboy@reddit
Put it in a pie crust! Chicken pot pie
ismellofdesperation@reddit
Your first mistake was adding microplastics to your meal with the bag. Enjoy the healthy serving of phaletes
Frothynibbler@reddit
You act like they’re not literally in everything already lmao
ismellofdesperation@reddit
You act like not adding more to the already ridiculous dose we get in everything else isn’t helpful…it is especially when you add it to your dish yourself…
Frothynibbler@reddit
It’s in the freaking rain. It’s in the air we breathe. It’s in everything. Using a plastic utensil isn’t going to make much of a difference.
Huhsucks@reddit
Be ashamed of yourself. If it’s good? Then fuck it
iwantomatter@reddit
honestly this looks like caldo de pollo once the caldo has run out loll
animalblundettios@reddit
Cat food in a garbage bag
fanceypantsey@reddit
Looks like a glue version of chicken and dumpling soup? I love that soup but if that glue is rice, I don’t know if you can save that. My deepest sympathy’s.
Xulrik-@reddit
I’d eat it
FoxyAdams@reddit
Mmmhmmm micro plastics and rice
CosmicViking17@reddit
Keep trying you get it. Also that looks like the buckets I use empty out when used to work at a hospital kitchen (the kitchen staff just dump all the food scraps into one bucket and it makes this sludge)
Equivalent_Opening85@reddit (OP)
Lmao I won’t be adding the rice to the crock pot next time.
oracle989@reddit
Instant Pot or a rice cooker are the easiest option for rice, for something like this I'd throw in some chicken bouillon and a couple garlic cloves with it. Rice can be cooked it in a pot on the stove too, but given the evidence here I'm not sure I'd recommend that for you
Equivalent_Opening85@reddit (OP)
🤣🤣 I’m usually pretty good with rice. I love my rice cooker and can make it on the stove, though rhe rice cooker is preferred. Next time I’m def not putting the rice in the slow cooker. And I’ll season more. I was afraid of over doing it.
VulcansBackside@reddit
Add broth and call it soup!
Ipsenn@reddit
This looks like the tetrazzini they used to serve us in school.
YakElectronic6713@reddit
Looks like congee. I love congee.
RUKiddingMeReddit@reddit
It's conveniently already in a garbage bag.
A_N_T@reddit
Chicken and dump
PoopTransplant@reddit
Nothing adds the much need microplastics like that liner.
Free-Huckleberry3590@reddit
Ok I’ve heard of cooking poultry in a bag but it’s not usually still alive when you put it in the bag
