If this is tarantula hill liquid candy ipa, this is probably one of the best hazy ipas I’ve ever had. RIP to attitude brewing out of SD, their weed inspired ipas were truly amazing

I'm no beer fan but I'd try out of foodie curiosity. I have zero doubt the beer is nifty. But I think having the candy in it would overpower the taste, and actually make the beer taste sour and gross in contrast, hiding the innate candy notes. I suspect the brewers would join us in hating on the bartender.

But the extreme sweetness of the almost pure sugar in the garnish would make the beer taste sour and nasty. Like eating an orange after using toothpaste. I'm ok with weird garnishes if they enhance the item, and I'm extremely into food and drink with unusual flavours, but what makes me angry here is that the subtle candy notes in the beer would be absolutely bootstomped by the strong taste of the garnish. It's not a good combo. Candy in a vodka cocktail? Sure! This candy-ish tasting beer? Cool! The combo? EVILLLL!

There are a lot of beers with sweet flavor profiles, even ones without added ingredients, like many Belgian wheat ales. Barrel or oak aged beers often have sweet flavors imparted on them as well as part of the process. If this were a very bitter IPA I could potentially see some sweetness helping balance it, though with the name Liquid Candy it seems excessive to add more sweet to it
