One day I’ll have to handle and shoot one of these. After that, will I see why it sells for $2500? Seems crazy
Tactical-SKS@reddit
Me and three buddies shot one of our other shooting buddies,
We all agreed it’s not anything special and laughed that all of our pistols combined cost less than his.
He later sold it, switched to a LTT RDO and now has since sold that and went to a Glock 19x.
yirtletirtle@reddit
Now sell them a get a g45.
Tactical-SKS@reddit
Not mine to sell
NeverNervous2197@reddit
Did they stop using the frying pan finish? My early ass G19.5 with the mooncut has that slick pan finish
mtbmaniac12@reddit
Frying pan finish hasn’t been used since Gen 3
NeverNervous2197@reddit
My early Gen 5 def has the slick black non matte finish that my old Gen 3 had
burner456987123@reddit
I love my g21 sf, never thought I’d like glocks. Also have a sig p220 and 229.
Thinking of getting a g30 or 36 for concealed carry. You’re right, $2500 can buy quite a few good pistols! But if people have the $2500 to spend, god bless em I guess

Why this over Platypus?
(Aside from having to be patient for the Platypus)
sockfoot@reddit
The Platypus isn't that great tbh. It's fine and I'll keep mine forever but if I could go back I wouldn't buy it.
Soulshot96@reddit
Honestly? There's a fair few reasons:
It's lighter, has a far better finish (DLC vs Cerakote), ambi controls, no grip safety, firing pin block (drop safe), no 18-20 week lead time, a much more versatile optics mounting system, and Staccato's top tier customer service/warranty.
Subjectively, I think they look much better as well.
Platypus has some nice customization options, and they do it at a reasonable price point, but it's still pretty clear where savings are being made and I couldn't see buying one for anything remotely serious myself.
DukeoftheGingers@reddit
I appreciate you taking the time and breaking it down for me!
Soulshot96@reddit
No problem.
LostMyGunInACardGame@reddit
Because you want to pay more for a gun that requires Glockish mags instead of actual Glock mags.
Thaflash_la@reddit
Is mine not supposed to run with Glock mags?
LostMyGunInACardGame@reddit
I’ve had a few customers with HDs that could fit Glock mags, but had some hiccups while firing. Nothing to crazy, just not as reliable as the metal mags or as reliable as Glock with Glock mags. Fine for training, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it.
Thaflash_la@reddit
I’ll contact staccato and see if they can fix it, since mine even worked with ets mags.
EggFooYungAndRice@reddit
Detonics Combat Master at home.
OregonTrailislife@reddit
I’d be interested in one at LE pricing ($800 off) but not at regular price.
RANDY_MAR5H@reddit
I doubt that'll happen for the general public.
There's a lead time on the "heroes program" guns.
Young-wild64@reddit
Do you know somewhere that has LE pricing on staccato in the >2k
OregonTrailislife@reddit
https://staccato2011.com/heroes-program/blue-line-program
GoNe2heLL@reddit
Hell yeah I'm in at 1600 to 1800 but at this price plus what another 150 for the optics plate my money is on bul tac pro or the upcoming ported and comped tac pro version for $2,800
nationalspice@reddit
75$
AKatawazi@reddit
Why would LE buy this? Isn’t this a non drop safe pistol?
Mahlegos@reddit
These being drop safe (and taking Glock mags) so LE would adopt them is the entire impetuous of the line.
AKatawazi@reddit
makes total sense, I was unaware of this fact, thanks for the information.
OregonTrailislife@reddit
It is drop safe, it has a firing pin block.
paperkeyboardalt@reddit
And yet, LE keeps buying P320's when they aren't even holster safe.
joseph-1998-XO@reddit
This one is the drop safe one
East_Citron_6879@reddit

One day I'll understand 2011 owners
borgarnopickle@reddit
I don't own a 2011, but if you want to shoot LO or open division in USPSA, they're the most viable option you have.
On the LE side, I think that the unfortunate reality is that it's way cheaper to have new officers pass a slow fire qual with an expensive, heavy pistol that has a nice trigger than to pay for training on how to shoot a lightweight striker gun straight. Especially when you need an entire department to pass a qual
SantasAinolElf@reddit
CZ has entered the chat
borgarnopickle@reddit
Sure, but you don't actually see that many people in LO use them because you can use them in CO against striker guns. The CZ75 platform is good, but it can't really be accurized like a 2011 can
TheHomersapien@reddit
My favorite 2011 has always been the best one: the Sig P226. I caved and got a Prodigy and I see the hype now.
Itchy_Present_8159@reddit
my 226 x5L shoots better than my staccato C. Unfortunately sig decided to make absurdly modifiable versions of their striker fire guns instead of a good hammer fired carry gun. the staccato c is one of the best edc guns on the market though imo
ednx@reddit
This gun is kinda mid ngl
TheFireOfPrometheus@reddit
So this is just regular msrp price
ohyeahbonertime@reddit
I missed a digit and for pretty excited
MakeGunsGreatAgain@reddit
???
younocallMkII@reddit
Drop that 2, and I’m in for 2.
