Have t-shirts become slimmer over the years?

I wear medium t-shirts and have worn medium t-shirts for the past 20+ years. Now, this is likely partly due to getting fatter, but these days though t-shirts seem tighter. I still have some t-shirts from 10+ years ago, and they still fit well. Even allowing for stretching my older t-shirts are noticeably looser (and I have to say comfier). Is it just me noticing this, and is there a chance we'll see a return to the halcyon days of looser fitting clothes?

There is more variety in T-shirts right now than there’s ever been, with more diverse fits, shapes, lengths, weights. You almost certainly need to broaden where you’re looking. As a starting point for basics, Uniqlo, then perhaps have a look at Cos.

I would say that most clothing has tended to a more slim fit style over the past 10 years, but there is also so much variation between brands that I think I would be hard to say for certain.

The current style is for tighter t-shirts rather than baggy ones. Unfortunately this means they look well on an athletic body not so much on the normal belly physique (I'm in that club too)
