I bought an inverted portable generator. It's not huge but it'll help.
vegdancer@reddit
What brand did you buy? I never thought of this but now want to add to our wish list! Do they ever go on sale? They seem pricey
googlebearbanana@reddit
I'm not sure of the brand. My husband ordered it through walmart.com. he researched the brand and it had good reviews. We bought a 4,000 watt.
Greywolfuu@reddit
Bought power banks again,. I''m so into power banks, especially heavy duty ones

Two more cases of MREs and ran the 8kw solar system off grid to cycle 25kwh of batteries. Teaching my family how to conserve power and watch the state of charge on Solar Assistant.

Really need to inventory what I have. We don't have a lot of space, so it's stashed all over the place and I'm not sure how much I have of things and where they are. Because of space, I'm only prepping for Tuesday, but right now I'm scared it's not going to be enough. I think we could eek out maybe 2 months with what I have. But I'm also not wanting to get in so deep that I've wasted money. I've solely focused on things that are already on our master grocery shopping list. But I have lists and saved shopping carts ready to go if it looks like we gotta expand our prep. Although...I have no idea where the hell we would put it. We're already tripping over stuff.

My hens have been laying. I beat and freeze dried 45 eggs to make homemade powdered eggs. Bagged some in mylar with O2 absorbers. Vacuumed some in a jar.
Crushed up the eggshells and sprinkled it on the soil around my tomatoes for calcium.
FluffyObject8830@reddit
How do you freeze eggs
_pseudoname_@reddit
I have a freeze dryer. I cracked them all into a mixing bowl and scrambled them up. Poured them in trays and put them in the freezer. After pre-freezing, put the trays in the freeze dryer.
Otherwise-Clock4878@reddit
Today starts my water storage. I hadn't done anything before Luckily money isnt an issue and aim just gonna buy 72 hours worth at a time for the current family then expand over next two weeks.

I took a Wild Plant Identification Course and Apothecary course (using natural elements)! It was very educational and helpful to add to my list of skills.

I am tariff prepping. We bought a new TV because ours is 15 years old, and losing pixels. I'm shopping for a new vacuum and crockpot before prices go up or shortages happen. Ours are on their last legs. I ordered a gun cleaning kit for husband's new Ruger Redhawk 45. I added another Augason Farms lunch/dinner bucket and more canned meat. All of this is expensive, being pushed ahead by the tariffs, and I am not enjoying it! Other than that. I'm continuing to clean out and reorganize the house and garage.
perusing83@reddit
Bought rechargeable fans/lights. I already have several types but 2 is 1 & 1 is none
Successful-Memory839@reddit
I did an audit on manufacturers vs product for 'survival' foods vs supermarket brands. 95% of the meals targeted at preppers come from the same factory as the supermarket shelf version, at least in Australia.
How? Same batch codes, the only thing that can't be changed.
General_Alfalfa_7092@reddit
I purchased 4 lb of nutrient powdered milk. And 2 lb of butter powder. Butter powder? So exciting!!! Also a giant container of powdered clothes detergent.
mistafunnktastic@reddit
Where did you get the powdered milk? I usually buy from mountain house but they don’t sell it.

Bought a few good canning/dehydration books and a dehydrator. Planting my squash/zucchini and peppers in the ground this weekend. Did an inventory of my food pantry/ household products (we should be fine for approx 4-6 months if SHTF tomorrow). Researching cheap diy composting contraption for the backyard that won't attract bears/raccoons…

Freeze dried a few Mylar bags worth of guacamole for long term storage, as well as pasta sauce. Got some canning jars for free from a relative who is moving out of state. Took inventory of my pantry so I can fill the gaps. Also grabbed a few extra canned goods from the store.

notgonnabemydad@reddit
Bought multiple 10lb bags of various dried beans and lentils. Bought new hiking boots and running shoes while they're still affordable. Bought a bunch of asian food seasonings in bulk to make simple food tastier. Bought bulk jarred peaches. Bought multiple tins of my daily moisturizer (skin literally cracks without it), add'l shampoo and a bulk box of hand soaps. Bought year's worth of laundry and dishwasher detergent. Bought a bunch of Mountain House #10 cans that were 50% off. Bought a new car battery and windshield wipers. More socks and underwear. Additional backups of staples like peanut butter, olive oil, coconut oil, canned tuna, oatmeal, bulk whole coffee beans, TP, vitamins. Partner is buying a backup bag of dog food.
I've been steadily building my supplies but decided to focus and really get as much done as possible right now. Only major purchases (beyond the really big prepping I can't afford) I'm still looking at are a dual fuel generator and a backup router. Now we'll just continue to pick up one or two extra items when we buy groceries to keep the deep pantry rotating. Got a sweet deal on two rainwater harvesting barrels for $20 each through my city's water saving program and picking those up next week.
Oh! Took intro to pistol class with partner to revisit gun handling skills, bought more ammo and am scheduling a monthly range day. Got a small gun safe for under the night stand. Yeah, this was all over the last week to week and 1/2! While I'll still keep chipping away at prepping tasks like go bags, filling 5 gallon water jugs, etc., it's also time to refocus on the garden and my messy house!
echelon1776@reddit
That Mountain House sale is awesome. It's finally in a price range that I can more easily digest, so I bought 5 #10 cans and now dont have to ever stress about food insecurity. Water storage is my next task after I also clean my messy apartment and find a place to keep this stuff!
rjs1971@reddit
This week for me was auto prep. I made up a 4 gallon food container and sealed it up with:
- a week of freeze dried food (about 2k calories per day of meals)
- a pill bottle of waterproof matches
- small water filter with purification drops
- a stove in a can to boil water for the food
I already carry about 6 gallons of water, first aid kit, emergency bivy, rain gear, hand warmers, down jacket, tools, etc. I live in a warm climate but do take some trips up into the mountains every year. So this just added some peace of mind that if I were stuck somewhere solo I could survive a week on normal calories or even 2-3 weeks on subsistence level nutrition.
echelon1776@reddit
You carry 6 gallons of water in your car? What do you store it in?
Jessawoodland55@reddit
I've got to test preps through 2 power outages in the last few weeks which is causing me to buy some solar lanterns and be more practiced about charging my battery banks. I've also gone over the emergency protocol plan with my son (come home, fill up water containers, stay home and wait)
Background-Pin-1307@reddit
Love this idea. I need to plan some test preps to make sure we aren’t overwhelmed in a true emergency
Background-Pin-1307@reddit
Bought enough to pack our 2 fridge freezers with meat & cheese, vacuum sealed items for long term storage, stocked up our regular pantry, organized our deep pantry. We also got a solar radio, stocked up on OTC meds and are planning our massive garden we are planting this weekend with a mix of starts and seeds. All of this was done all at once because we just moved and we had to let all the funding settle and get into our new place to have the storage space. Feeling much better about our personal outlook, though my next step is getting to know our neighbors and seeing if there’s some community here if SHTF quickly

I did a pantry and deep freeze inventory, and I upgraded our pantry storage to deter mice and ants. I also completed adult and pediatric first aid/cpr/aed certification. I replaced the batteries in our weather radio. I started studying for my ham license. Fun!
readyforunsteady@reddit
If you don't already have it, the HamStudy (HamStudy.org) app is awesome. It's like $4 one-time, but you can take unlimited practice tests, drill down on the chapters you're weaker on and take just those questions.
It covers Technician, General, and Amateur Extra so you can continue to use the same app if you want to continue licensing tiers!
keto2017@reddit
Thank you! I’m just getting started so that is helpful!

If you have them in your area , attend a HAM Fest . It's like a garage sale for HAM operators . I picked up a ICOM IC- 746 Pro for 450.00 . Original price when new was 1,200.00 .

I repackaged the dry goods into glass mason jars or thick plastic airtight containers as a barrier.
catsrthesweet@reddit
I replenished my otc medication and first aid supplies, bought extra bug spray and sunscreen, stocked up on household supplies like trash bags and laundry detergent, as well as bulk baking soda, white vinegar, washing soda, etc. Not only can I make my own laundry detergent with the ingredients I bought, but they also double as general cleaning supplies. I also found batteries for super cheap so I bought some of those to power flashlights, headlamps, and radio.
Mysterious_Fig9561@reddit
Stocked up on honey, maple syrup, canned mushrooms, and oils. I also made a pantry meal for the few things I havent tried yet so I know how to use them.
IllustriousAd4924@reddit
I bought a solar radio and some bottles of water! (can you tell I'm broke and just starting out lmao)
premar16@reddit
I think that is a great thing to get and resourceful!

There are some free apps you can download that'll boost your preparedness:
iFirstAid has step-by-step guides (with images) on how to perform emergency medical procedures (CPR, bleeding etc.) and the app auto-downloads everything so you can use it offline
Zello PTT turns your phone into a walkie talkie - you still need cell or WiFi service but the messages take much less bandwidth, so they can get through when traditional text/calls may fail.
Here's a blog article outlining a few more: https://readyforunsteady.com/blog/f/7-must-have-apps-that-will-boost-your-preparedness

Bought some planter boxes that'll go along one side of the house that tends to get blasted by afternoon sun. The plan is to add trellises to them and plant vines that are edible or otherwise yield something useful (e.g. loofah) while also shading that side of house.
It probably won't block a huge amount of heat, but it's just one of a few passive heat management things I'm doing in the hopes of keeping the place more comfortable if we lose power during the summer.
RoundProud1218@reddit
For an extra $60 to my regular grocery bill, I got some extra "onsies and twosies" of pantry staples (big bag of rice, beans, oats, dry milk, canned meats).
terrierhead@reddit
We started a container garden of sweet potatoes, jalapenos, bell peppers, zucchini, chives and parsley. Everything is in little pots for now, to be transplanted into bags up to 15 gallons. We need more potting soil.
I bought rechargeable batteries to add to our stash. Also, I’ve been learning about home backup solar generators on YouTube, along with how to use a food dehydrator.
Academic_1989@reddit
We planted a small orchard in the front yard. Two apple trees, two peach, one apricot, and three grape vines. Also planted several flowering shrubs for mental health reasons. The shrubs and large flowering bushes form a bit of a privacy hedge along the front yard, which faces a busy street. Hoping to block a bit more traffic noise. Cut dead tree branches and took out two small trees that died last year - cut the pieces into small logs. Continued yard cleanup.
Worked on repairing and painting windows. Also worked really hard on cleaning and organizing the garage. I'm finding tools I did not know we had! Once I put things in a spot, I am taking photos - I'm compiling a notebook called "where things are" for our family.
Bought a cast iron wok, skillet, and tortilla press, and an enamel coated cast iron dutch oven. HEB had them on sale - got all of it for under $100. I love HEB
Saw an attorney to work on preparing a will. Downloaded forms to update beneficiaries. Consolidated two small higher interest accounts and worked out a schedule to pay them off within the year, as well as a couple of others. Created a spreadsheet to do this.
Saw my doctor to get summer travel medicines. Started husband on Ozempic.

We got a pump for our well. Also bought the chicken coop and chicken run to get our first chickens and got a deshumidifier to keep our basement/pantry dry. Will not be an easy month, but had to be done

What does the well pump do?
KatieSinatra@reddit
In our case we have two, one that is the manual classic pump, and this one we just bought that we will connect to our garden to water the veggies. This one is automatic, so it will be pumping water on a schedule on its own. It could be connected to the water in the house, but thats a job for another time xD
Mother-Huckleberry99@reddit
Is there a reason you do that over using hoses? Genuinely asking. I have a well and just started a garden, but I have the hose that I use to water the garden connected to the house (and the well by extension)
KatieSinatra@reddit
If the house is already connected to the well is perfect. In our case it is not connected yet, work on pending, so its the first step for us until we have the budget to connect the well and the house
Mother-Huckleberry99@reddit
Ahh okay thanks so much!

I've been working on setting myself up for success with the current tariff situation, so this week I made some bulk purchases and reorganized my pantry. I got 25 pounds of rice, 15 pounds of oats, and 5 pounds of quinoa. I've got shelves with rows of beans and spaghettios and soup. I've got 10 pounds of flour, 8 pounds of sugar, and yeast. I've got a jug of olive oil as well, so everything needed to make bread. I also got some shelf stable almond milk, pounds of assorted heart healthy nuts and dried cranberries to make oatmeal with ICOE. I've got cans of chicken, chicken bullion and every damn noodle you could think of to make soup as well ICOE. I've got various canned veggies and fruits, and I've stocked up on my favorite drinks as well. I've got enough food to feed me and my roommate for at least 2 months if we ration. I've also invested in several gallons of castile soap (you can use that shit for everything) as well as several bottles of my body wash that I can dilute with castile to make them stretch longer. I've got solid shampoo and conditioner ICOE as well. I've got enough supplies to do my medical injections for at least 2 years (assuming I can still get the medication I'm on when I need a refill of it), and I just bought a nice heavy duty can opener to replace my old rusty one. I really would like to invest some cash sometime soon into a deep freezer to keep outside and store meat and frozen veggies and fruits and butter in, but I'll be moving in less than 2 years and I'm not sure if I'd be able to take it with me to the next place. But I feel secure in knowing I've got things to keep myself clean and things to eat for at least several months.

Bought the supplies to work our cattle this weekend. Ear tags for flies and ticks, wormer (Ivermectin), pink eye vaccine, Virashield 6 vaccine, Covexin 8 vaccine, and bands for the bull calves.
Doctored a calf with pneumonia with some Baytril (antibiotics) for 3 days.
Changed out the honeybees sugar syrup every other day.
Reloaded the chicken feeders/waterers and put out fly traps in their run.
Cut up some limbs that fell in the farm driveway.
Mowed the farm yard, the barn lot, the pistol range, and the outside run of the rifle range. Installed a gravity motion target at the pistol range with a friend.
Had an electrician install the electrical connection for my tri fuel generator for the house. Should be enough to run everything in the house except for the central a/c unit.
sivels33@reddit
I added tomatoes and yellow squash to my garden this morning. Going to organize supplies in garage better. Labeled my storage bins. Looking to purchase more ammo.
phillyrat@reddit
what are your target supply numbers per caliber?
sivels33@reddit
My goal to start is at least 1000 rounds per caliber. I have 1000 rounds for 4 different calibers. I have 2 more calibers to get to 1000 rounds.
phillyrat@reddit
Nice! I’m only at 500 for non-shot shells
sivels33@reddit
500 is good. Keep storing up so you are ready for anything. From just going to range to being ready for a bump in the night !
Open-Attention-8286@reddit
I'm experimenting with "canner cooking".
I have limited stamina, and I know from past experience that when I'm canning a lot to try and keep up with the harvest, I run out of energy to cook a separate meal. So, after some inspiration from a Townsend video, I've started testing recipes that can be cooked in a jar right alongside whatever is being canned.
Some things (like hardboiled eggs) work best if you're waterbathing, while others (like stew) work best with pressure canning. If it's something that just needs heated instead of actually cooked, then you could probably use either. More experimentation is needed.
I should reiterate: This is NOT a preservation technique! It's just a way to multitask so you can fix dinner alongside what's actually being canned.
I'm hoping to get through tomato season without needing a ton of recovery days.
Haikuunamatata@reddit
I love this! Going to look into that!

Installed several post for new solar panels to be mounted on. Dug the ditch for the power cables. Started another garden, will be putting tomatoes in it.
Ordered mushroom spores, going to use some of the fresh Turkey oak wood to start a log grow.
Ordered 2 years of air filters for the house.
Recognized my chest deep freezer. Removed some of the ice blocks so I have more room in it. Checked to see if I could add a second one. Cycled out old frozen veggies for fresh, old ones moved to fridge to be used.
Installed 3 solar powered WiFi cameras and 2 IR spot lights.
Weed whacked around the house, put down poison and bait.
Last-Form-5871@reddit
Acquired 6 more #10 cans of rice and pinto beans.

Started cleaning/organizing my bedroom and storage spaces. I ran into the issue of not finding something in a mundane situation and made me upset that my organization is not optimal and needs work. If I can’t find something in a normal situation it wouldn’t be easier in a stressful one. So time to look into storage bins more!
PrepperBoi@reddit
I miss living by myself in a smaller apartment for this exact reason.
I used to be able to name everything I owned lol
PrepperBoi@reddit
I got a lot done this last week. Considerably more than usual:
Ant traps around whole house
Gun range day. Sighted in 3 “pistols” and used the iron sights on my AR7 survival rifle.
Reorg some pantry space, refilled pantry from deep pantry.
Fixed the mag well on one of my firearms with a dremel. Mag doesn’t slide out anymore.
More research on freeze dryers. I think I’m gonna buy one. Sold some of my silver and gold at a profit to fund this and some other preps.
Ordered a magazine bandoliers to make range trips a little easier but it’s too dang small. Only holds 3 mags not 6 like it said but this works for now.
Ordered a fancy medical grade refrigerator for medicines. It’s fairly low wattage so power efficient.
Flashlight, hand stop, and buis for new rifle.
Finally got a cheap ball and hitch for my new truck in case I need to rent a trailer.
Got some larger Mylar bags (5 gallon) to finish filling the buckets and gamma lids I have in stock with rice/beans. I got a lot of empty buckets ready to fill. Might do some lentils too.
2 extra bags of dog food. It lasts like 11 months in the bag, now I have about 5mo on hand. Next month I will probably pick up 2 more. One to replace what they eat. The other to add to stockpile.
Got a long range optic and I’m using it on my AR for now. I will likely transition that to a 6.5 creedmore in the coming months. I thought I wanted a Tikka based on the weight savings but I’m not so sure of the longevity of the polymer body. The store model I saw was super beat up for it being indoors its entire life and not being fired.
My new pistol flashlight popped off my gun after like 3 mags. I found some locktite laying around so hopefully this is fixed. I’ll need to do another range trip soon to verify.
Cycled my garage gasoline out, just need to add the stabil to it.
Used a mandolin and Dehydrated apples for the first time in my food dehydrator I got like a month ago but hadn’t had the time to use. got some more fruit to do from store today. Came out really good. I’m going to start making more shelf stable items. I made a bunch of jams last year for us and for gifts and it was a huge hit. I think this year I will do strawberry and blueberry and maybe an orange marmalade. I got too many empty jars sitting around! Going to make come extracts as well.
Got some single serving plastic bottles (1.75oz booze) so I can pour into smaller servings for beach trips (no glass), trading, etc.
Picked up a second biometric safe so I could have a firearm in a 3rd location around the house that I frequent more often. Theres like 2 more locations I’d like to cover but I don’t see a good spot for a traditional safe. Maybe one of those alarm clock end table ones for my living room.
Changed out my main safe batteries. I had my bedside pistol safe batteries die on me a month ago. I’m going to change these all out on a set interval now.

I am brand new to this and keen to get started . This week I purchased a Jackery generator with solar panel. It will be pretty heavy to carry up and downstairs but it should keep my refrigerator going. I hope it will also power a fan because I live in a hot climate.
Today I ordered a bathtub water bladder. Next on the list is figuring out a filtration solution.
I live in a third floor walk up condo in a hurricane zone. I hope to move within a year or two so I can garden, capture water and have a better solar set up.

I bought extra pasta at the grocery store, a 18 pk of Mac n cheese from Costco, and researched how to can butter safely
LopsidedRaspberry626@reddit
There is no FDA approved recipe for canned butter.
Only “rebel canned” or Ghee
Pineapple-kisses96@reddit
I’ve seen one where the lady melts the butter over time in the oven, then seals it in the oven. For some reason that makes me feel like it’s not safe to eat
LopsidedRaspberry626@reddit
Dry canning (in an oven) of any kind is old school/rebel canning. Not FDA approved.
The only National Food Preservation recipe is for Ghee, which is pre melted butter with the milk solids filtered out.
Honestly it’s easier to get ghee already made from Costco or butter powder from an emergency prep company in a big metal can.

My normal weekend routine is typically prepping for tomorrow.
11systems11@reddit
Cleaned/reorganized the pantry after restocking and installing a can organizer. Donated some expired cans.
Bought 2 new portable phone chargers.
Made a plan for new shelves and a cabinet in the garage.
Stocked up on some other household items that may rise in price soon due to tariffs.
As an IT guy, I'm way behind the curve on AI so I've started playing with it, and so far it's fantastic. Give it a try!
SetIcy438@reddit
New to prepping-I really appreciated the question asked either here or another subreddit, “what are you prepping for?”
For me it’s (1) empty shelves due to tariffs, (2) limited time power outage.
I already keep a pretty deep pantry. I got several more pounds of pasta.
For 1 I bought frequently used items made in china-plastic sandwich, quart, and gallon bags. Trash bags. Hydrocortisone cream, Big bottle of ibuprofen. Extra lightbulbs. Extra “velvet” hangers (made in China, I have slowly been changing out wire dry cleaner hangers).
For 2 I got solar flashlight, pack of solar lanterns, solar/crank radio (per rec from the Spain/Portugal outage). Case of water bottles-40 x 16 oz.
From general discussions on prepping subreddits- sterno fuel and folding “stove”-enough to make tea or coffee for a few days, or warm up the canned beans. Extra batteries.
Also some “hygiene kits” and compressed towels. I’m beginning to think about having an emergency bag in the car-these fit. And sewing kit that is more than the tiny basic.
Sounds like a lot but I haven’t spent a huge amount.
BonnieErinaYA@reddit
I gave my garden some much needed care.
I also bought some shelf stable food for my small pantry.
Lastly, I ordered a bean cookbook.
Not much in the grand scheme of things—but small changes add up.
Pearl-2017@reddit
I made a list on my phone of all the stuff I still haven't purchased. It was kind of depressing.
Also stashed some Nutty Buddies in the freezer. Not ready for a world with no chocolate 😭

Added 24 cans of assorted beans we eat to pantry. Currently I'm researching inexpensive places to buy dry beans in bulk, my hope is to convert to dry beans eventually otherwise be simply better food stocked Incase it's an emergency.

Went nuts and bought a bunch of crap off Amazon that had been stranded on my "prepper list" for the last few months: lifestraws and pepper spray for the wife & stepdaughter get home bags, stainless steel canteen for my bag, new EDC folder knife, EGO electric chainsaw, knife sharpener kit, water bob, and a pair of Baofang radios.
Also started working on my ham radio license.

Lost power for a couple days starting Tuesday and some of the city is still out. I restocked propane for my camp stove, water, and some condiments. Not much but it’s honest work
_-Burninat0r-_@reddit
I bought a 1,5l carton of water.
I have space, the water has an "expiry date" 1.5 years in the future. I will drink it anyway. Might as well keep 10 cartons stocked for easy access to clean water for short emergencies.
baby_philosophies@reddit
I got some jars and I'm practicing not going to the grocery store this week.
orangetaz2@reddit
Same! I've been slowly stocking up the past 6 months, and it's finally the week I try NOT grocery shopping! We joked the store would want to check and see if I was ok🤣
baby_philosophies@reddit
AHH! Omg that makes me feel so much better 😂 I have had a REALLY bad habit of going to the store every other day if not everyday. Fingers crossed this week goes to plan!
I bought a bunch of peard for snacks and they're already too mushy to eat 😂 lmao. Pivot pivot pivot

This week I did a lot (for me) and I’m glad!
I did inventory of our food stock & I also organized our working pantry in the kitchen, and our back room area where we keep the rest of our supplies. I wrote down everything we have, and the Best Buy dates in a notebook and it’s all organized which makes me feel better. * planning to do inventory once a month, to make updates as needed.
We also went to the grocery store and did a huge stock up, a lot of canned goods, cat food and extra litter for the cats, and just regular produce and normal items like bread and milk we were out of.
Our freezer was pretty empty so we restocked that as well and got canned meats too. Found a few good deals on meat so some went right to the freezer to save for later. I’m trying to work on diverting protein sources, and also doing meatless meals as well.
emperorliuche@reddit
Restocked some canned goods. Rotating through pasta stores.
In advance of hurricane season, I’ve been testing some water storage containers for leaking & making the water taste like plastic. Not great. 2 out of three leak a little from the cap. One tastes and smell like plastic. Haven’t tried the other two yet.
I’ll try giving them another round of cleaning.
hollisterrox@reddit
ordered tires before tariff kicked in.
inventoried a junk drawer to clean out any old stuff that's no longer relevant.
Preventive maintenance on my garage doors, watering system, air conditioner.
Exercised.
Made sure my kid scheduled an appt to get a RealID.
LycheesAndShiz@reddit
I bought a ton of OTC meds

I bought a ham radio. I’m not licensed yet, but in the meantime I am learning how to operate it (without transmitting) and how to use it to receive emergency info in case of a situation where phones are down
GrouchyWino@reddit
Ordered a new first aid kit and bought more canned and non-perishable foods, worked on our garden and I’m putting together an order for camping stove and propane griddle along with some other things.

Planted potatoes and weeded a couple of beds Tow rope for the car Added small notes to the emergency fund (aiming on adding £5, £10 and £20 notes a month for half a year to build up an emergency cash reserve for bits like were seen in Spain)
aniyabel@reddit
Stocked up on rice and water and bought shelf-stable milk.
razzo1197@reddit
Added 200 rounds of 9mm. Also replaced some rechargeable batteries on 2 solar motion lights on the back side of the house I noticed after 5-6 years they didn't hold the best charge anymore.
AlexaBabe91@reddit
I had a productive week! I got some dry goods vacuum sealed and tested out some of my preps. Did some pantry and go-bag inventories as well.
Didn't really like the vacuum process as much as I thought I would so I think I'll switch to buckets + o2 absorbers. I was trying to reduce plastics and single-use items but sealing the jars was very tedious and the regular mouth one is soooo finicky.
rctid_taco@reddit
I bought a boat. Obviously the primary purpose had nothing to do with prepping but after I got it home I realized I now had an additional 20 gallons of fuel storage.
suzyclues@reddit
so funny. We are prepping but also brought home a boat this weekend
forensicgirla@reddit
Still working to hand rip out grass to expand gardens & plant mushrooms in the woodchips between my raised beds.
Tuesday came, working on using preps & keeping finances level. I'm doing ok, though!
Organized seed swap with a town friend with great success! Someone brought me a pioppino mushroom grow bag as a gift. Can't wait to eat them. They're delicious. I'm going to see how many flushes I can get out of it. Taking seedlings out into the garage & sun to harden off (really need to finish my beds, though!).
Bathroom renovation 1/2 way done, full bath is functional (we did get pros but bought most supplies ourselves). Electrician coming later this week on the 1/2 bath.

Bought 4 pairs of trousers in the Amazon 25th anniversary sale thingy, (buy 75 euro get 25 Euro off) came out at 16 euro a pair , lots of curry paste, I like curry, it was crazy cheap, and stocked up on bottled water, cat food and pasta sauce because I got given 3x 10 euro off each 50 euro shop discount tickets.
Saturday is the big local used dvd and book sale to add to my library.
Oh, and gardened 7 shades of shit out of my small garden, 5 days flat out work.
the-bearded-omar@reddit
Cancel Amazon, but otherwise good work!
Unlikely-Ad3659@reddit
I did cancel Amazon 2 months ago, got them to delete all my data too, I just couldn't resisted 45% combined off my favourite pants. I don't wear jeans and never have, or will.

Expanding the garden
Planted more raspberry cultivars to increase availability throughout the year and decrease risk if one cultivar fails
Planted bush cherries (romance cherries) for future propagating and for eating (propagate from air layering or cutting)
Planted apple root stock for propagating
Huntduxin25@reddit
More canned goods and pasta. More dried noodle mixes. Mrs Knorrs. These are good when ya mix in some canned chicken meat. I've got a couple dozen cans of those in the cupboard. Also picked up a bunch of toothpaste and a case of 3 in 1 shower gel. Shampoo, soap, moisturizer. Getting stocked up before prices jump. More so than disaster...
Prestigious-Fig-5513@reddit
Inventoried.
Made a shopping list and prioritized it.

Looks to me like this April 22, 2025 post was posted on May 5th, 2025. Copy-paste?
I bought and filled a bug-out-bag (BOB) and a get-home-bag (GHB). The BOB came from an army surplus store but is brand new. 40 liters, belly straps with zippered compartments. Cost me EUR 22.95.
The GHB is in the car. About 30 liters. Cost me EUR 4.50 at a thrift store.
Filled both of them up with the stuff that I collected and bought last month for these purposes.
I also rearranged my EDC. I had a pouch which was getting too small. Now I use the container of an old Wahl hair clipper. It jumps between my work bag and a small messenger bag / murse that I use outside of work. In it I have:
I also bought several Wurkkos flashlights, Fostex zippered sniper boots, two extra power banks, one for the BOB and one to replace the one going into my EDC. The compressed towels and wet wipes seems to be double. I'm gonna keep it like this for a while because now it is a tight fit (don't want stuff banging around too much), probably until I run into a better EDC carry alternative.
I have also been researching power stations and getting the wife's opinion on that. Don't want to spend that much money without discussing that first.

Bought twenty pounds of white onions because they were .60 cents a pound. Freezing and dehydrating them.

Stocked up on paper products at Costco & wife ordered 2 cubic yards of dirt for her new beds plus 10lbs of seed potatoes. Plan is to try to make it through most of winter without having to buy potatoes

Gardened my ass off. Figuratively and literally. I burn more calories out in the yard than I do in my daily HIIT workout. By quite a bit.
FoggyDollars@reddit
Ordered enough canned/nonperishable goods to start our "backup pantry" that would last \~3 months. Trying to semi stay ahead of any tariff pricing increases, but also start increasing the time needed before requiring outside food/water help.
SunnySpot69@reddit
Expanded the garden slightly. Added some vegetables that I haven't grown before e.g. eggplant, peppers. And some more tomatoes to hopefully have enough to can.
slendermanismydad@reddit
Bulk shopping. Paper goods. Rice. Dried veggies. Going to get beans soon. Ordered all OTC drugs I take. Did the same for my mom. Bought yeast. Stocked up on lotion, shampoo, etc. Castile soap.
I know I'm not doing enough. I need to inventory my camping prep.
RoamingRivers@reddit
Got back into running after being out of commission due healing from a small procedure, practiced cooking black beans, and ran a class for people who wanted to get into prepping.

just working on the garden, sprouting and direct seeding - using my old seeds first and re-seeding whatever gets poor germination to use up the old stuff. Working on spending less and growing more!

Refreshed my disposable battery supply, replaced filters throughout the house, and ordered more storage bins for long term dry food storage.
