Where is this going to lead?
needanewnameonreddit@reddit
Simply my humble perspective:
Creates perception of U.S. economic colonization in post-conflict Ukraine. Signals long-term Western entrenchment at Russia’s border. Nullifies neutrality optics, confirms U.S. stake in Ukrainian territory and governance. Provokes countermeasures: cyberattacks, energy disruptions, proxy destabilization, militarization of border zones. Accelerates Russia-China alignment against NATO economic influence. Moves conflict from kinetic to systemic — financial, technological, informational warfare fronts.
Dramatic-Manager-290@reddit
I mean does Ukraine not have a right to fight against Russian interference though? I agree we should stop meddling, but at the same time they're victims of a genocidal war, so I'm conflicted
Dense_Department6484@reddit
Ukraine not being a russian pupet dictatorship like belarus is what provokes putin to try to destabilize or invade it buddy, the point of the ukraine war is dictators are terrified of their people seeing a former puppet neighbour becoming a prosperous democracy
I live in Romania which is next to ukraine and was in russian sphere just like ukraine but every since joining the EU and NATO we more than doubled our GDP. Ukrainians rightfully demanded the same prosperity they see in their neighbours and putin is terrified of a prosperous democratic ukraine.
Putin has his own objectives and you should acknowledge that not everything is about the US or started by the US. Revolutions around eastern europe were not planned by the CIA people were waiting in lines for fucking fruit for hours and hours and stores were empty and people were sick of the communist disaster.
FeelingTap7455@reddit
Sooooo Putin=bad?! The bigger issue might be when the shelves are empty and Ukrainians join Americans via zoom meetings to watch the little American dictator’s parades…and the speeches, always the best speeches.
Dense_Department6484@reddit
why do attempt be reductive about a detailed post, you either understand all the points or not
FeelingTap7455@reddit
I understand putting words together. But yes, most people either know all or nothing about a subject. Great point to consider!
decadent_simulacra@reddit
The numerous challenges with this plan do make me wonder if it's really a high-stakes game of chicken, as opposed to a plan that each party intends to see through to completion.
I'm still considering it all though. My opinion isn't fully formed yet.
Ricky_Ventura@reddit
I doubt this would be their intention, and it certainly won't the effect. First off, NATO isn't an economic bloc. It's a military alliance. Secondly, China only needs to fill any economic void they can find. They were more than happy to sell REMs to the US, continue to be happy to sell to NATO countries and are indeed selling to Russia. America is self-immolating economically. They can more easily outpace the US by embracing NATO countries that are facing steep US-based tariffs.
needanewnameonreddit@reddit
If I may, it seems like you're parsing labels while ignoring function. NATO’s military identity masks its expanding role in economic alignment—via defense contracts, energy dependencies, and reconstruction projects like this fund. The Trump admin may not intend to accelerate Russia-China cohesion, but intent is irrelevant when outcome is structural.
China doesn’t need permission—it exploits fractures. U.S. unilateralism via tariffs isolates its allies economically, driving them toward Beijing out of necessity. Simultaneously arming Ukraine, sanctioning China, and taxing allies guarantees convergence among U.S. adversaries and friction with former partners.
Self-immolation isn’t just economic—it’s geopolitical. This fund isn’t a stabilizer; it’s a signal flare.
Chogo82@reddit
US will deploy interests there. Unfortunately, historically, the internet strategy didn’t work against precursor to ISIS in Iraq but those groups were ideologically different than Russia. The interests has the potential to deter Russian aggression and if there is aggression, the US would have justification to deploy military which would not be good for Russia or China. Stopping war with Russia is the first step to taking away the loads of cheap energy and oil China is getting from Russia due to sanctions. It also should alleviate EU fears a bit if Russia and EU can begin trade again. Starving China of energy and oil is a big step towards slowing down their AI development military build up progress. It buys the US and Trump more time to figure out how to reshape the global order to account for the rapidly rising non-consumer society that is China.
Geiseric222@reddit
Ehhh all this is kind of hot air. The republicans have spent long poisoning the well against the Ukraine war for them to just start sending serious military aid now.
Midnight2012@reddit
Trump is just authorization for a new military aid package now
13Krytical@reddit
Genuinely wondering if someone could’ve convinced him that taking Russia would be more beneficial/possible in the long run than trying to take Ukraine + Greenland + Canada without being killed by someone

They have a base that will flip their morality and life-long held beliefs in an instant if the orange one says to do so.
_WeAreFucked_@reddit
People have short memories.
A_Whole_Costco_Pizza@reddit
If Big Brother says Ukraine is friend, then Ukraine is friend. Ukraine has always been friend, Big Brother said so!
fwfiv@reddit
Nope, this clears the way for the US to take the resources from Ukraine in areas occupied by Russia. The current administration lies as often as they talk. Our president is a Russian stooge and will continue to betray Ukraine and western Europe.
Chogo82@reddit
This is the pro-China stance that has also been adopted by some left media. It’s a pretty stupid take honestly when you take into account the geopolitics and the true focus of the in the info pacific.
fwfiv@reddit
Great, I'll be eagerly anticipating the US support for Ukraine that you believe exists in our current administration.
Chogo82@reddit
It’s less about support and more about using deterrence to stop the war and start repairing eu and Russia trade.
fwfiv@reddit
Why do we med or want to repair Russian trade. Their economy is miniscule and the world can do without them until they learn to be a responsible, non war crime committing country.
Chogo82@reddit
Energy and oil.
AntiBoATX@reddit
The geopolitics of it is us has shown no interest in stopping Russia in Eastern Europe since the new administration and continues to shift its wartime focus to the South China Sea. We could walk and chew bubble gum at the same time but not while also trying to start a global trade war and alienating allies. I also don’t think this admin knows what it wants in the current hegemonic order, beyond Trump grifting and the circling parasites competing interests.
Chogo82@reddit
You’re missing the point of Russia and Ukraine. The war and continuation of it reinforces Russia’s relationship with China while destroying it with EU. Now China has infinite cheap energy and oil. Russia is small fry compared to the existential, economic and hegemonic threat China presents to the US.
_WeAreFucked_@reddit
Nice take and very reasonable imo
huangsede69@reddit
Reasonable if you ignore that there's a war happening right now and that this does essentially zero to stop it. How are we getting rare earth minerals from Russian occupied territory, and when will the Russians stop their war? Why would they?
_WeAreFucked_@reddit
Everyone prefers green over red. Now the question is who will get the lion’s share; that will dictate what happens going forward.
DataMin3r@reddit
Well it's called the USURI Fund, so probably usury
freesteve28@reddit
Closer to all out war.
BigGolonka@reddit
lol russia got exposed. burned through their soviet stockpiles and showed the world how weak they are. no all out war gonna happen with russia.
Chogo82@reddit
The Chinese have been funding the Russians.
Expensive_Watch_435@reddit
Apparently that's not working out too well considering Russia's reached 7 digit losses in terms of soldiers
Chogo82@reddit
But they can keep fighting and continue to occupy territory. The Chinese are getting very very needed military tech now that the US has purged Chinese spies after f35 f22 thefts. This directly helps drive Chinese hegemony and there’s some evidence they got silent sub tech from the Russians. Chinese hegemony increasing means a confrontation with US hegemony gets ever closer.
k_pasa@reddit
Russia can keep fighting and occupying territories. At this rate they might take all of Ukraine by 2040
Chogo82@reddit
Well they for sure are not going to get any of the minerals deal.
drapedinvape@reddit
If you have any interest in submarines check out the book Blinds Man Bluff: The untold story of submarine espionage. Long story short the US knew where pretty much every submarine the USSR had was. It's a pretty fascinating book.
commathree4@reddit
"Cable Crossing"...
Expensive_Watch_435@reddit
I agree
ExtraGloria@reddit
They’ve been selling them counterfeit/airsoft gear and in that regard it helps Ukraine ahah.
freesteve28@reddit
You think we haven't burned through our stockpiles as well? We sent them all to Ukraine. Russia has a war economy and are producing munitions and arms while most western nations have backorders that will take years to fill.
Ravenseye@reddit
If our catalog was the Sears and Roebuck we used to get around Christmas time. We haven't even gotten through the clothing section yet.
We gonna be ok with all the toys they've been funneling off over there. remember, all of that is/was decommissioned. Just sitting around waiting for scrapping/parts harvesting/or re-upping.
flaming_burrito_@reddit
I find it hilarious that some people think so little of the American military industrial complex. American military doctrine is predicated on having multiple times as much firepower as their biggest rivals, greater logistical capability, greater power projection, and always being on the cutting edge of military tech. In conventional warfare, we have enough firepower to bury Russia 3 times over. You’d be appalled how much we waste in munitions in order to justify the budget. We didn’t even give Ukraine any of the modern stuff
freesteve28@reddit
and how do you think Europe rates against Russia? Right now, I mean, if Ukraine collapses how would Europe fare against Russia without US support? Trump has hinted multiple times that US support to Europe is not guaranteed, so what then?
flaming_burrito_@reddit
Europe as a whole? Not nearly as well as they should. I think Europe is not nearly as unified as people think it is, and many countries would chicken out to appease Russia. At the same time, I don’t think Russia has the power to attack any major countries in Europe, not after their showing in Ukraine.
If Russia were to trigger Article 5, I think Poland would kick their ass all the way back to Moscow. Poland was one of the only countries in NATO consistently investing a significant portion of their GDP into their military, and have been strong US allies for a while. It isn’t on many people’s radar because Poland isn’t huge on the world stage, but they have the largest army in Europe aside from Russia right now, as well as a decent stockpile of American F-35’s, and they have been itching to kill them some Russians since the war in Ukraine started. With French, German, and British backup, they would be more than enough unless Russia pulled out the nukes.
midgethemage@reddit
I mean, of course they do. They're at the crossroads of every major European war
flaming_burrito_@reddit
Yep. They knew better than anyone that Russia would be back one day, and they weren't about to just get shafted by the world again.
BigGolonka@reddit
russia can’t beat Ukraine. Poland could probably 1v1 russia lol
854490@reddit
be like brrrrt $10k brrrrt $10k brrrrrrrrrrt oopsie poopsie $25k, ok guys good range day today cya
flaming_burrito_@reddit
Quite literally, they will go to the range and just ammo dump at the end of the year to get rid of surplus
Watchnyck@reddit
Ok this is hilarious. The US has not “burned through our stockpiles”. We spend a trillion + dollars a year to have a military that can fight a full scale, all out war (and win) in any two theaters simultaneously. Russia’s GDP lags California, Texas, and New York’s. And there’s another 57 states even if we include the leach states in the south that take northern tax dollars to support their failing… well everything I guess. But I digress - Russia’s “war economy” is even less impressive than its non-war economy. And that was pretty unimpressive.
freesteve28@reddit
You think the US has 60 states?
854490@reddit
one, two, skip a few,
SquirrelODeath@reddit
Can you count?
Fine-Lingonberry1251@reddit
You are insanely naive if you think the American war machine has scratched the surface of its munitions.
freesteve28@reddit
How about Europe? What does the EU have left?
BigGolonka@reddit
They are getting more armed and should give more to Ukraine. Everyone is content to let this 3 day invasion drag on at the cost of Ukrainian blood instead of punching russian orcs in the mouth which most countries could do
xChoke1x@reddit
There’s the thing you people do. You say “but what about this!?” And then a bunch of people answer it, and instead of saying “ok yea, I sound like an asshole” you just say “bUt wHaT aBouT tHiS!?” And just change the subject. Lol
Fine-Lingonberry1251@reddit
I'm not going to pretend to know things about Europe's defense situation. France is plenty armed.
Your statement wasn't about Europe however you're shifting it After being called out by people.
BigGolonka@reddit
lol most of the money we “gave” Ukraine as to make new stuff while sending them our “expired” stuff. russia doesn’t have an aircraft carrier lol they aren’t a superpower anymore.
xChoke1x@reddit
I do this for a living.
No…..we haven’t.
Weekend_Criminal@reddit
We sent old shit and stuff we wanted to test out. Russia is pulling antiques out of museums lmao.
freesteve28@reddit
Meanwhile Europe has nothing left to send. What happens when Ukraine inevitably falls and the rest of Europe only have enough ammo to last two weeks?

Do a quick Google search of the Sierra Army Depot.
Better yet look it up on Google Earth.
Then realize there are multiple depots similarly sized throughout the US.
US stockpiles are just fine.
Wise-Force-1119@reddit
Yeah, considering how much of our tax money goes to funding the military I would assume that we're doing okay. Just a hunch.

It ain’t happening anytime soon. Because they’ve ramped up production of more complex machines fighter bombers and hers like su34 and Su35. Tanks and missiles are a piece of cake compared to that
BigGolonka@reddit
lol they are assaulting on scooters! you're a clown haha!

If you think the Russians can fight the US, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. Yeah they’ve manipulated the hell out of our politics, but their military is smashed.
drapedinvape@reddit
I agree with you 100%. But something the west never understands about Russia is working with a smashed military is totally acceptable because lives are meaningless and any amount of causalities is met with a shrug from the the population. Strange culture.

I sincerely hope it leads to Ukraine getting more help from the U.S., and if we get a sane administration after trump they can withdraw the U.S. from the “we get to rape your country for its resources” part of the contract.
Gygax_the_Goat@reddit
😮💨 Goodluck with that.
drapedinvape@reddit

In this context, yes. There is a non sexual definition of “rape” that absolutely applies here.

If we can take back our democracy, hopefully the next president can replace this “deal” with a Marshall Plan for Ukraine.
Constant_Mud7080@reddit
No the solution is we just stop stretching ourselves thin around the globe fighting for disadvantaged nations.
LilLebowskiAchiever@reddit
The US is not currently fighting in Ukraine.
Constant_Mud7080@reddit
No, just stealing their resources right now.
Coolenough-to@reddit
I think it is 'laying claim', in that Europe would lay claim to money from these resources in the future because some of its aid to Ukraine was actually loans. So, this puts the US first in line.
PrettyGalactic2025@reddit
Ahhhh yeah I think you nailed it

BigJSunshine@reddit

waltwalt@reddit
If the stuffed animals didn't want to be molested they should not have been stuffed so seductively. This is 100% the stuffed animals fault.
dennys123@reddit

ibfreeekout@reddit
By deporting the stuffed animals, we just saved 730 million American lives.
renla9@reddit
It's actually a pretty decent deal for Ukraine (and I can't stand Trump)
Ukraine hired an American law firm to help with the negotiations and the pressure from UK and France probably helped clinch it
Eeny009@reddit
Imo, it's not difficult to see. Ukraine got destroyed, mined to death, is in a demographic catastrophe, and apparently plans on continuing the war by incurring a debt that will cripple whatever potential it had left.
DankMastaDurbin@reddit
Neoliberalism turned the land into rubble.
Constant_Mud7080@reddit
Yea but freedom and western exceptionalism or whatever.
outworlder@reddit
They don't have much of a choice but to keep fighting, if they want to continue existing. Cease fire? Allows time for Russia to regroup. Officially cede territory? Same, minus territory. Russia will come back again for another bite.
Their best chance is to keep it going until Russia gives up. Note that Russia is also in a demographic catastrophe and has been for a while now.

Ricky_Ventura@reddit
Additionally Ukraine and the US were formally partnered when the US decided to pull intelligence in order to support a Russian offensive in Kurst.
henryeaterofpies@reddit
US now has a vested interest in Ukraine keeping areas with these minerals. Russia will not give them up like Ukraine has.
Ricky_Ventura@reddit
The US surely, but Trump couldn't care less. That's precisely why the US pulled to support Russia in Kursk and Rubio already came out and said on record multiple times that the US is (or at least was) days away from giving up on Ukraine entirely. The REMs are at most a feather in Trump's hat to say he did something better than Biden. His only love is for prestige and personal enrichment. If he cared about REMs he wouldn't have intentionally cut us off from our Chinese supply and allow them to outpace US growth.
This is all, of course, assuming he's competent which is a huge assumption I admit.
seefatchai@reddit
If he can make more from Ukraine and look good while doing it, he could betray Putin too.
If I were Ukraine I would assume that Russia will know everything the US is helping Ukraine with. I hope they are prepared to deal with a double cross at any moment.
Hekantonkheries@reddit
Hell we were partnered when we agreed if they got rid of their nukes we'd protect them with our own.
Multiple invasions later and we've done bare minimum to treat them as an ally rather than a speedbump
overkill@reddit
The UK, US and Russia only promised they wouldn't invade Ukraine if they gave up their nukes, and that if they were invaded they would mention it at the UN, possibly with a disapproving tone.
South_Dependent_1128@reddit
Yep, and now the recourse for Ukraine is to either say that the US is lying or to submit, we all know its going to be the former and that will be Trump's excuse to stop working towards a deal with Ukraine.
KlutzyClerk7080@reddit
I hope everyone knows wealthy businessmen are going to abuse the hell out of Ukraine. Only reason any peace was made is for the rich peoples profit. Disgusting

Educational-Piano786@reddit
In Trump’s mind, Biden was clearly meddling in Ukrainian politics for self-enrichment, as that is what he would do, and he’s incapable of imagining the monde set of anyone differing from his own. He’s also upset that Biden “got away” with it. So this is his own scheme to siphon from a massive slush fund. Because “fair is fair”.

Partnered is a weird way of saying we will exploit Ukraine and never lift a finger against Russia in the meantime or ever.
grahamfiend2@reddit
I think this raises the chances we might. I’m guessing Ukraine signed it because they know the US would have a vested interest in things moving forward. “Hands off my minerals Russia” type thing.
Rappy727@reddit
I agree to the point that it probably puts us closer to an unintended kinetic response, and personally I'm not confident in a good measured response from either side.
bobby_table5@reddit
I wouldn’t trust them to agree with what they said the minute before however, the bulk of the minerals are in the Russian occupied side, or nearby. It makes sense to kick the child-rapists out before you mine.
asukihoj@reddit
They actually have less of a vested interest now because US contractors are going to be the ones rebuilding what Russia destroys. If you look at the whole historical context from 2014-now the US has used Ukraine in an attempt to weaken Russian resources, pushed against any meaningful peace talks, and now is shaking down Ukraine even more for contracts/mineral rights. Foreign policy is not just the whims of a single administration, look materially at what has happened so far. The global hegemonic benefits while it's "allies" suffer. Ukraine is used, by the Russian federation and Nato as what it's name means a "border land". An expendable region exploited by both sides
dennys123@reddit

I hate this administration as much as anyone, but this is the o my way we will be able to help Ukraine. Yeah, they are going to be exploited, but they are going to get help from the US now. If Russia takes over, the US won’t be getting access to the minerals they want
Rappy727@reddit
I wouldn't be surprised if trump just has putin bomb in another part of Ukraine while we dig. Hopefully, I'm very wrong.
SergeantThreat@reddit
From another post:
The deal was significantly revised from the last reporting, I gotta give props to whoever negotiated for Ukraine here because they turned it from "Somehow getting off worse than Germany after WW1" into something actually usefull.
key Points:
The agreement is an equal Partnership with 50/50% share. key-point, for the US possible future military aid is counted as a contribution to the fund
Ukraine retains full control over all infrastructure, subsoil and resources itself, their contribution to the found comes exclusively from future mineral-licenses
No US aid provided prior to signing is counted as part of the fund, only new stuff
The Fund must invest into reconstruction & infrastructure in Ukraine for 10 years
Relevant tarriffs between the US & Ukraine are reduced to Zero, and the US pledges to attract further parties to invest into the Fund if possible
Rappy727@reddit
Have you seen anything in regards to Crimea? Last I heard was Ukraine was seemingly okay with it staying with Russia as long as they leave.
Expensive_Watch_435@reddit
Have you even read what this agreement entails you fucking idiot?
Rare_Deer_9594@reddit
Idk I think this is an MIC deal all the way. For U.S. businesses to be willing to invest in *Ukraine* right now, that investment ain't gettin protected without military defense.
ivey_mac@reddit
I have read nothing but my guess is a small amount of taxpayer money goes to Ukraine and billionaires get to exploit Ukraine resources at a below market rate.
Mars_target@reddit
Interestingly enough they crafted it in such a way that all the blame is rightfully put on to Russia and their full scale invasion. But then they also butter up trumps cheeks by praising him.
So ukraine actually gets trump to admit a lot in this paper about his buttbuddy putin. It simply flies under trumps radar as he only cares about seeing himself praised. So yes whilst trump is grifting on a country being invaded, it does set the tone on the topic of russias part in this correctly, with a seal of the orange one.
It makes it harder for him to trash talk ukraine and zelensky in the future. Which is good.

Equal partnership. The Fund is structured on a 50/50 basis. It will be jointly managed by Ukraine and the United States. Neither side will hold a dominant vote — a reflection of equal partnership between our two nations.
National assets are protected. The Agreement does not alter privatization processes or the management of state-owned companies — they will remain Ukrainian. Companies such as Ukrnafta and Energoatom will stay in state ownership
No debt. The Agreement includes no provisions regarding any Ukrainian debt obligations to the United States. Its implementation allows both countries to expand their economic potential through equal cooperation and investment.
The Agreement complies with the Constitution and maintains Ukraine’s European integration course. It is consistent with national legislation and does not conflict with any of Ukraine’s international obligations.
Importantly, the Agreement sends a signal to global partners that long-term cooperation with Ukraine — over decades — is not only possible but reliable.
Revenues from existing projects or those already accounted for in the budget will not be included. The Agreement also outlines future strategic cooperation.
Legislative changes will be limited and targeted. Only amendments to the Budget Code are required for the Fund to operate. The Agreement itself will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for ratification.
The United States will help attract additional investment and technology. The Fund is supported by the U.S. government through the DFC agency.
This will assist us in attracting investments and technologies from U.S., EU, and other international partners that support Ukraine’s fight against the Russian aggressor.
Technology transfer and development are a key part of the Agreement — because Ukraine needs not only capital, but also innovation.
📌 How will the Fund work?
The United States will contribute to the Fund. In addition to direct financial contributions, it may also provide NEW assistance — for example, air defense systems for Ukraine.
Ukraine will contribute 50% of state budget revenues from NEW rent on NEW licenses for NEW areas. Ukraine may also make additional contributions beyond this baseline if it chooses. This is cooperation designed to last for decades.
The Fund will then invest in extraction projects for critical materials, oil, and gas — as well as in related infrastructure and processing. Specific investment projects will be selected jointly by Ukraine and the US. Importantly, the Fund may invest exclusively in Ukraine.
We expect that for the first 10 years, Fund profits and revenues will not be distributed, but instead reinvested into Ukraine — into new projects or reconstruction. These terms will be subject to further discussion.
We have shaped an agreement that provides mutually beneficial conditions for both countries.
The US affirms its commitment to long-term peace in Ukraine and acknowledges Ukraine’s contribution to global security — including its decision to give up nuclear weapons.
It is an Agreement that reaffirms the United States of America commitment to Ukraine’s security, recovery, and reconstruction.
I thank everyone who contributed to this Agreement and helped make it stronger. It is now a document capable of delivering success for both our countries — Ukraine and the United States of America.

The Budapest memorandum explicitely prohibits economic extortion for security. Trump can paint this as a win now, but Ukraine legally wont have to honor this agreement.

Now incorporate Ukrainian drone instructors to US military schools in exchange for some material… we need it… as much as the pentagon thinks they are ahead of everything, we need drones incorporated into every division…

They were already transferring their hard won knowledge, even after we screwed them, then the US troops were transferred from the joint base in Poland.

Oh, so now they DID invade Ukraine, and Ukraine didn't start it. Got it, drifter.
Just one big new real estate and mining deal.
Who's the big mining man getting the rights?
And controlling the bread basket to Europe.
And the real estate/rebuilding investment opps

This is like in those countries where rapists are made to pay punitive reparations to the family of the rape victim.

This is potentially win-win deal: stability for UA, minerals worth protecting to the USA. Only if both parties see it in that light.
freddy_guy@reddit
They're going to "facilitate" this, and as we know, they believe that "facilitate" means you can do dick-all and still be doing it.

Ukraine displays deft excellence against Russia's archaic meat grinder - narcissist deal maker in Chief, stung by Papa's lies about peace, takes matters into his own hands to kick off a defense boom in the US... Technocrats furious

I really wish that Ukraine would have been smarter than falling for this scam. They should have partnered with European countries to rebuild a Europe.

Really excited for the inevitable terror attack on US soil by Ukrainian nationalists dissatisfied with the post war status quo
Halfmoononwed@reddit
What does this mean geopolitically? Does this make it riskier that Russia may do something stupid now that we have a vested interest? Just trying to understand the risk of this escalating tensions with Russia.

Given this administration’s track record, this agreement isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on

Lmao there is 0 chance in hell anything positive comes of this for Ukraine, they have give away all their natural resources to have to capitulate crimea and eastern Ukraine anyway. What a dummy

Just blurting out more bullshit that means nothing of value but words on an unsigned piece of paper.
Might as well presented this to us on a waffle house napkin.

I'm not sure how helpful this will be for Ukraine. It looks like an agreement that the US will take a certain amount of the profits from their redevelopment/investments.
I hope the US are going to be providing security guarantees in return.

How can the US help Ukraine rebuild if the war isn’t even over yet?

A 10 year funding plan that includes military armaments, civil infrastructure, and imports from Ukraine. Probably more stuff but that's what I've seen so far

Partnered? You mean exploit a nation for its resources while they’re at war?
If this had anything to with further military integration/cooperation, then yeah I’d agree with you. This is far from “partnering” with a country, in any sense truly.
Dittopotamus@reddit
Soooo yelling at zelensky worked then? I'm confused
LegitLolaPrej@reddit
Feels like a "we're both desperate for something" kind of a move. America needs imports, Ukraine needs weapons.

Ah, I see! ...so the yelling was unnecessary as originally suspected then
