This is a difficult situation,ngl. She must’ve got very afraid as Orcas can even capsize that small boat and I read that Killer Whales have so much patience like Crocodiles and can even wait for so many hours for that Sea Lion or capsize the boat in the end. Another comment says, it’s illegal to start a boat in Canadian waters as it may hurt the whales. So, Idk what she could have done in that situation. It is a difficult situation and she took the decision of pushing the Sea Lion into the water and when all the whales went to munch it, she escaped.

I'm guessing she's worried that she'll become collateral damage if the whales decide to go after the seal. They can easily tip that little boat to get the seal into the water, for example.
