So neutonuan physics still apply here right ? ERA block defeats incoming HEAT reound but at the same time bows a hole and shrapnel or spall into the vehicle?
OneFrenchman@reddit
That's where you're mistaken, physics don't apply to Russians.
Pratt_@reddit
It very much does to their tanks' turret tho
Shaclo@reddit
Thats where all the physics go they get redirected there
naishjustsaint@reddit
Whenever something falls some where in the world something goes up in russia
vAN_dARKHOLME_1@reddit
Obviously it does not or have you seen flying tank turrets anywhere else?
FuriousRedeem@reddit
No what happens is the heat round doesn't get defeated and keeps going, and a hole gets blown into the vehicle.
Warr_Dogg@reddit
Why do they always look like military vehicles from Wish?

https://defence-ua.com/weapon_and_tech/defitsit_zvichajnogo_kontakt_1_u_rf_prizviv_do_pojavi_zahistu_z_orgskla_ta_skotchu-18482.html Looks like RU is running out of Kontaks so why might be seeing less of those designs
KapitanKaczor@reddit
Didn't they run out of kontakt-1 recently?

This post is Flork approved.

Putting ERA on a vehicle like that is effectively like strapping a satchel charge full of tannerite to your plate carrier.
Cheshire_Jester@reddit
What if I tell the explosives to only explode outward?
Usual_Principle8184@reddit
Newtonian physics mean that it’d be pretty hard to do that, equal and opposite reactions mean that your armour has to be thick/strong enough to withstand the blast of the explosives that close to it (which most MRAPS aren’t)
Daddy_Jaws@reddit
there is a reason ERA does not go on BRDM's, BTR's and BMP's.
clearly whoever did this forgot the lesson so old the soviet union figured it out
musschrott@reddit
Well, in Russia they do.
Cheshire_Jester@reddit
Even if I say pretty please?
OneFrenchman@reddit
What if Im built different and conventional physics don't apply to me?
AlexRyang@reddit
turns into black hole
kress404@reddit
magic!
sentinelthesalty@reddit
Its for those folks who can't wait to meet their maker.
John_Oakman@reddit
So halfway to a VBIED? Would it enhance its destructive power if they mount boxes of nails on top of the ERA?
Usual_Principle8184@reddit
Yes
Mammoth_Egg8784@reddit
Thats..... Thats not how this works....
ShyKid5@reddit
They can be Nera filled with ceramic and elastic stuff instead of explossive or simply empty casings.
Modo44@reddit
Empty ones most likely. They must have metric tons of them stored somewhere if this happens instead of adding simple armour plates.
Pratt_@reddit
Yeah I was looking for that comment.
I'm pretty sure most of the vehicles definitely not able to withstand the explosion of ERA blocks we often see fitted with some are actually covered of empty blocks as a makeshift shrapnel protection
We have seen some wacky homemade shit from the Russian side but even the dude conscripted from his backwater village in Siberia with a low level of education would understand what an ERA block is and would do.
Zondagsrijder@reddit
Brilliant! Cannon fodder either makes it they don't, there's no middle ground of medevac needed.
lycantrophee@reddit
There's a morale booster and making yourself feel better and safer, then there's this retardation.
