The only real answer is to keep an eye out online, in poster shops and antique shops art galleries and any where else for an image that grabs you. Then get a copy or the original and get good at basic framing - plenty of places sell cheap frames.

You can get all sorts of prints from Etsy, from movie posters to proper art prints and everything in between. You can then pop them in an IKEA frame, if you prefer.

Get the nicest pictures in your phone of happy memories for you and your son printed out and put them up in frames. Look at your space first and decide like “I’m going to put four up in a square a4 each over here” and “I’m going to do three over there next to each other” - cluster your pictures in themes or places or whatever if you like. Maybe even put a couple of mountable objects up with them. Look at gallery shops online - e..g Tate modern has one Put up a favourite film poster somewhere if it makes you both happy, it’s your house and one won’t be super tacky if it’s not just posters everywhere. Definitely frame it.

If you can afford it, get a decent photoshoot of you and your lad and have some nice wall art from that. Are you into any movie series? In our gaming room I have a 3x3 of framed prints of the artwork from the Marvel Hotel at Disney. We also have a large framed print of the AntMan / Wasp painting that was in our hotel room when we stayed there in our hall. We have a beautiful framed artwork print of a family of elephants which we found in an art gallery shop in Glastonbury. It’s all kinda down to personal taste, but having stuff on your walls makes a home cosy. I would avoid chucking meaningless stuff up you find in the Range though. Get stuff that means things to you.

This but for extra style points have a look at old movie posters from foreign countries as posters can vary from country to county and look pretty great in different languages Japanese kaju posters are my favourite

If you’re looking for prints desenio it’s a pretty good online store with prints for literally any vibe. I’ve ordered a few and they are really good quality and a decent price. They also have preset gallery wall packages which are good if you don’t have an eye for that sort of thing.

I had a lot of plain walls until I moved in with arty people who kept putting random stuff up, so I felt like I needed to up my game I bought some art prints from [art.co.uk](https://art.co.uk) and put it in cheap frames from Ikea. I have a few artists/styles I know I like, so that made it easy. I've got a wall of postcards I've recieved or bought on holiday. fun coloured lamps/lampshades are good too, they subtly change the colours in the room and you can turn them on/off and move them around for variety

Me and my husband have got a couple of framed works from local tattoo artists that we like. Some photos I've taken while on holiday - we looked through all the scenery ones to find our favourites, ordered A4 prints and framed them. A vintage framed LOTR poster. And then pretty much everything else is artwork bought on holiday - we quite like browsing little local galleries or looking at art out on the street when we're on holiday and picking up nice paintings or prints, as it's both something nice to put on the wall and a memory of where we've visited.

I've got all sorts of things. Some movie poster reprints ordered off eBay for about 12 quid (Alien, Dirty Harry, Saturday Night Fever). Frames from HMV, and you'd never know they're reprints. Work out about £30 each frame and print. A couple of enamel signs - 1 is Pernod and 1 is a Bulgarian warning sign. A couple of turn of the century French painted tin signs - a bit of an expensive indulgence! A really cool Michael Caine poster, which needed a massive frame that cost more than the poster! A massive mirror that I got of eBay for a fiver! Makes the room look bigger. In my son's room I bought some gaming posters.

Charity shops, local art fairs, etsy, ebay (especially good for vintage prints or old postcards or adverts you can frame). What are your son's interests? If he likes something like birds or cars, start googling around for vintage car advertisements or try looking up varying bird prints. I personally like when a room has a theme but the art can be any period, style, color or whatever as long as it covers the theme (nature, birds or animals, cars or old buildings or cityscapes). Then you can make it a project together to look whenever youre out for your theme to add to your collection.

Spider webs mostly. I rent so I can't really be hammering shit into these paper-thin walls. If I could, I'd buy some really cool photos from photographers and hang them. Maybe trail a few (fake) vines or fairy lights or some smart LED lights or something.

I think I'd browse https://500px.com/popular and find some photos I really like and buy them as a big print and hang them in a frame. You could use those Command strips if you can't hammer any nails into the wall. Or just google "wall art canvases" and find something on one of the many sites. Personally I'd probably get a photo of a landscape or an animal, something quite neutral but something striking.

I have a gallery wall type thing in main living room wall. Some gothicy prints, pop culture prints from some brands I like, couple of vinyls framed, some of them are like a stormtrooper with trad tattoo art, Tina bel her with a I love butts t shirt, Wednesday Addams, a banksy print, death and decay set from the gallery wall uk, some video game stuff. All in nice frames. A deers head mould, a medusa head etc etc. on my other wall I have giant a1 (I think. Maybe bigger?) marvel canvasses. They’re classics comic covers and looked really cool. Other walls have a couple of things on them and I’ve got an alcove area with some plants. Led light strips. A skull. Some pops my kid bought me. Books and other bits n bobs they’ve bought me over the years. Their bedroom has some framed prints, couple of canvases, posters, mirror, wall mounted tv/Xbox bunch of led strips that they wanted etc I have a couple prints in my hall. One large of a raven/snake, another one from a clothing brand I like and a landscape fallout print. All in nice frames. Bathroom also has a couple of prints. One is a giant colossal squid “la poulpe colossal” and I have a blink 182 print from Wes doodle. It’s all based around things we/I like/are interested in. It’s not cheap either. So it probably took me a solid year of buying piece by piece

I've picked up art from various small craft fairs and local exhibits, just anything I fancied the look of really. I also put up floating shelves on a few walls and put house plants on them.

If you’re after framed pictures/art I’ve found some really decent ones in antique shops, if you’re looking for some decent modern ones I put a few from displate in the study. I recently put some wallpaper up in my little brothers room at my parents which is a map of middle earth, not for everyone but he absolutely loves it.

I have some paintings by a local artist of couple of local beauty spots I like, picked those up at a local craft fair. I also have a canvas of my dogs and some framed photos of a couple of places we went on holiday and liked. It's super cheap now if you have a good quality photo of anything (or you can also buy a stock image), to get it printed on paper or canvas and then just frame it yourself too.
