Whale behaviour question

I remember watching a documentary (a well mix of biology and whaling practices) around 3 years ago but there was a scene that showed when whalers targeted a whale (probably a right whale, or a beluga, again not sure), the whale would get very stressed and hit its own head full speed which would often lead to fractures.
I have exhausted my options searching in the internet for this fact, and cannot even narrow down the documentary. I would really appreciate if someone could verify this or narrow down any information regarding this, or am I just in a strong Mandela effect.

I remember something similar in a documentary about the bowhead whale

that fits exactly because it was sent in the arctic and I watched it in a class for arctic biology. I’m glad to know I wasn’t hallucinating
