Hi all so I recently tried reliving my past with the oblivion remaster but can’t seem to get much progress because my computer seems to be lacking. Any suggestions or tips on improving? I’ve currently got
Cpu - Ryzen 5 3600 4.2ghz
Motherboard - msi mag b550 tomahawk
Graphics card - Asrock RX 590 8gb
Ram - corsair vengeance ddr4 2666mhz 16gb
Psu - corsair rm650x semi modular 650watt
Storage - 1tb Samsung evo sata ssd + 1tb seagate barracuda hdd
Case- msi mag vampirix ATX case.
Cooler- Nzxt kraken elite 280mm AIO liquid cpu cooler and a couple of fans
And finally a Q27G2S/EU 27" QHD Gaming Monitor 160hz
I’m looking at getting a new ssd and gpu and a bigger tower as my current one is small. These are what I have in mind
Antec Flux Pro TG Full Tower Case Black
Team T-Force Z44A7Q M.2 PCle Gen4 NVMe SSD 2TB
ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 Prime OC 12GB
Would these be compatible and would it make a difference upgrading these for the sole purpose of future proofing my gaming habits

Well u didnt say any budget, there 2 routes.
If you dont wanna spend much, what I would do is sell that R5 3600 and I will find a 5800x3D. Kinda hard to find that nowadays. Try to look up in the used market. Just be careful of scams.
Keeping the ssd and hdd is not a problem. But yeah I would prolly try to sell those 2 and buy a 2TB m.2 instead. And I can see thats ur plan too.
This is an option, but me personally I would sell that ram and get a 3600mhz cl16 instead. Prolly 32GB this time.
As for the GPU i dont know if ur buying that bnew but 4070Ti or Super or even a 4080 is my go to option as a sweet spot for the 5800x3d without bottleneck, but ofc 4070 itself is not that bad. Also used market is a cheaper option just be careful of scams!
But if ur buying it brand new, if I were u id prolly get the 5060TI but ofc if ur getting the 4070 for a good price, always go for it! And I think wont be upgrading this setup for the next couple years.
As for the other route and if u have money to spend go Am5.

You make some very good points. Maybe I’ll consider starting with the gpu and cpu and look at the ram and ssd later or unless the buying and selling goes well enough to afford it! Thank you
