So I’ve been wanting to build a pc for awhile and wanted to get any advice on these parts I picked out!

I’ll be honest, while I have some idea of what too look for in terms of pc parts, I’m not entirely sure and would love some feedback! Any and all advice is welcome and I’d appreciate any suggestions for other pc parts to replace if the ones I’ve picked out aren’t the best. Thanks yall!

I would choose a 5700x instead of the 3800x, it's better and if you are comfortable with AliExpress it's 60% of the price, (just get an high review high amount of sales offer and you're good) and it consumes less so the stock cooler is kinda enough, but maybe it's better to get an am5 motherboard and get a 7500f, which is very similar in price and performance to the 5700x (faster but less cores, depends on what you need but roughly the same in games), only thing you have to get a b650 and ddr5 ram which can be a little more expensive.
as for the GPU, the 3060 is a little too weak for a 1000$+ build, in that price range (considering usually the gpu takes around 40-50% of the budget) so if you are willing to spend a little less on the motherboard (180$ for an am4 motherboard is quite too much, i would spend a maximum of 80$ for a b550) you could get a 450$ gpu, idk the gpu prices in your country but for that price usually one can get a rx7800xt or an rtx4070 for \~500$, which suit a 1000$ build much better as they can run anything in 1440p.
below 450-500$ anything from nvidia below the 4070 isn't great for the future (i own a weaker gpu as my build is less expensive all around but that's my opinion tho) unless you buy used parts, so something like an 3080 or 2080 ti, so i'd rather look into amd only if you want to spend around 300$, so something like a 6700xt, used 6800 or 7600xt(xt only).
i know nothing about sound cards so idk if you actually need it, or if 160$ is too much.
case, ram, psu and storage are good

Yea I was considering changing the mobo as I wanted it to be compatible with ddr5 ram instead of ddr4. Thank you for the advice though! I’ll definitely consider the parts you recommended and go back and try to change some of parts around!

If you are going with am5 the 7500f is a must, and with the welcome deal (if you never bought on AliExpress, or just make a new account;) you can get it as low as 120$ i think, especially on the app, also the main thing to look into a motherboard besides features such as wi fi and slots is the heatsink on the vrms, it does not need to be the best , especially with a 65w cpu, but just not completely naked, a decent am5 b650 should also be around 100-130$

What's your budget? Parts look fairly ok, very mid range PC though depending on what your intentions are. A 3060 isn't all that powerful, better to go up to a 3070 or even 40 series if your budget suits. Also get a decent CPU cooling fan if you're not opting in to liquid cooling, and will a 1TB NVMe be enough? May want to look at a second NVMe drive or 2.5" SSD for some extra storage. Overall though, not too bad for some light to medium gaming :)

Wow thanks for the advice! I’m very new to this so any advice is well appreciated! :D and I’d say my Budget is around $1200 but I’m willing to spend up to $1500, so I’ll definitely look into a better graphics card and cpu cooling fan, any recommendations for a good cooling fan?

The 3800X does come with a cooler which would be more than adequate if you're not planning to overclock it, so for now would definitely recommend allocating some more cash to a better GPU 👌
If I had to recommend a choice on CPU cooler, any Noctua is my usual go-to, specifically the NH-D15 but it's enormous and requires a larger case. But as I say, prioritise either more storage or a better GPU, it will serve you much better in the long run.

Ahh okay gotcha! yea I’ll definitely move some of that money into a better GPU, and some extra storage. I do want this pc to be more for gaming so other than changing the GPU and such, is there anything else I should change if I wanna use it for more heavier gaming? Sorry for asking so many questions 😭 I do appreciate the help!

The rest of the hardware you have there is pretty decent! Minimum of 32GB RAM is great, two sticks allows you to expand to 64GB later if you want to. PCIe 4 NVMe is also very nice, will get great speeds on that.
It all really comes down to how you plan to use it.
For storage, personally, 1TB is enough for me because I only ever have a couple of games installed at a time, then when I finish them, I uninstall them to install new ones. I use cloud storage for all my personal files so they're never clogging up the physical drive.
The reality is $1,500 will get you something that is decent, but not top shelf. For example, the configuration you have with say a RTX 3080 it will play current games nicely at 1440p. But come the time that GTA 6 is available, it may struggle. RTX 30 series weren't really geared towards 4k, so if your monitor is 1080p or 1440p, a RTX 3070 Ti or RTX 3080 would be your better choices.

For that price you could go AM5, try asking the discord server for help
