What Firearm Is Michael B Jordan Using in Sinners?

So I saw Sinners and noticed Michael B Jordan’s character using a pretty badass handgun, but my gut reaction was: that handgun looks a bit too modern to be in the 1930s.
I did some research and verified that the movie takes place in 1932. I found a list of guns used during the 30s and the gun he’s using looks like a Browning Highpower M1935 but it was first made in 1935.
Here’s the list I’m referring to: https://www.paper-dragon.com/1939/pistols.html
And here’s the handgun M. Jordan was using: https://m.imdb.com/news/ni65177641/
Any thoughts on what firearm is being used here?
Note: links does not contain any spoilers for the movie.

It’s not listed there now but I’m sure given enough time it’ll be listed on there soon enough

Both his pistols are M1911’s

He plays twins in the movie. Smoke has dual Colt M1911s and Stack has a Luger P08 and a Trench Knife. Substance vs Style like the brothers. They also own an m1928 Thompson and an m1918A2 BAR though it's never made clear which brother owned which weapon...

That’s what I’m looking for. I thought I saw him with a 1911 but being the time period wasn’t sure.

The M1911 was invented in the year 1911 for the US military in WW1. It remained the US service Pistol until 1985 also serving in WW2, Korea and Vietnam. It would have been very common by 1932...

Fucking love that, thanks for teaching me home slice, I figured the 1911 meant the year but didn’t know, super appreciate the education

It's crazy how sophisticated guns have been for so long and how the mechanics of these kinds of firearms haven't fundamentally changed in 100+ years
The bells and whistles have improved, but you can still buy an m1911 today and it'll be basically the same gun as the one you'd get in the year 1911.

The BAR was Smoke's. The Thompson coming out of the crate with a drum magazine fits with Stack's style. Smoke wouldn't chance the jamming with a drum mag.
If the Thompson didn't have the drum mag, I might consider it for Smoke. The fact it shares ammo with his Colts would be his style.

Yeah you're right he seemed more in his element with the BAR too using it semi-auto from concealment as though it were a contemporary battlerifle. and the Tommy fits Stack perfect.

Thanks for the info!

I wouldn't read too much into it, the trunk has their army helmets in it but they're from a decade in the future.
