How to dry clothes if you’re living in Kaplan Living? International student

I am going to the UK in September and I realised that in the UK it isnt sunny 24/7, and was wondering if hanging clothes outside to dry is a valid option anymore.
I lived in Asia, so I never had to worry about these things.
So if there’s anyone who knows the best way to dry your clothes, and even better if there’s anyone who lived in Kaplan Living en-suite before and what strategies you used, because that’s where I will be staying.

The best thing we have bought in the UK for our clothes is a drying pod. We hang our clothes up inside it and then zip the special bag around it and switch it on a the bottom. We also open the window to let out moisture it generates. It is quite cheap to operate and cost £60 to buy off Amazon.

Probably if weather nice. But get a dehumidifier and a normal laundry airer for when you need to dry clothes inside, it works really well and much better than those heated airers or close driers. Clothes will dry in about a day.

You don’t need good weather for a drying pod. Plus it drys the clothes completely in a couple of hours instead of a whole day. So I just pop the clothes in it in the evening after work. I wouldn’t want to have a heated airer and leave it unattended while I was at work all day. Drying clothes by pod works out to be a cheap way to do it.

I'll have to look into this, haven't heard of these. Our Meaco dehumidifier works just fine though so I'm happy to stick with it

Have a look at their website, find the location you're going to live in and see what facilities are listed. It probably has a shared laundry room with driers.

Check the weather forecast and hang clothes outside on non rainy days and find a location which gets sunlight

You don’t need the sun to dry clothes, you can dry them indoors on a clothes horse.
It is a very studenty aesthetic.
You won’t be the only one doing this, most people will.

Contact Kaplan, ask them what the laundry facilities are where you're going to be staying but chances are there will be a laundry room with washing machines and electric dryers.

I dry my laundry on a clothes horse indoors in the winter too, I use a dehumidifier, it sucks out all the moisture from the clothes and the room won't get damp. Buy a good quality one and you will be fine.

I can't speak for Kaplan but student accommodation usually has a communal laundry room, or will be near a launderette, that has tumble dryers, as your room will most likely be too small to comfortably dry clothes on an airer, and I wouldn't expect there is any outside space where you can dry washing on a line.

Clothes airer and dehumidifier is how i do all mine in winter....all in doors because I am at work and cannot get clothes in if it rains while hung outside.

My advice would be to buy an electric clothes dryer. You can assemble and disassemble them quite easily if you lack space. I bought the JML Dri Buddy when I lived there and it was the only thing that worked to dry clothes. Energy wise - it's also very cheap to run.

You definitely can dry your clothes outside when it’s not raining. It doesn’t need to be sunny.
You can buy a clothes horse and dry them inside, you can even buy heated ones that dry them more quickly.
Be careful though, because a lot of UK houses are quite damp and drying clothes inside makes it more damp. You can get a dehumidifier to help with that.
Or you buy a tumble dryer. Or use a laundrette.
But yes, drying clothes can be a nightmare in the winter.
