Probably he was considered a terrorist back then.
Useful_Can7463@reddit
probably. He killed a lot of people before being he died in battle.
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
They usually did that back then.

There's a picture of him with and a bunch of other guys. 2nd row, all the way to the right with the thick mustache.

They all are handicapped?

The biggest lie of resistance is usually told by Albanians. Yes, Sikimdeberg is real as are the stories about his resistance but no, buddy, the overwhelming majority of all Albanians weren't rebelling, in fact, they were very loyal citizens and a pillar of the empire. At one point, they even referred to themselves as Turks. Yes, I know. What do you want me to do? Rewrite history?
The past won't change because some Reddit nationalists can't comprehend facts.
PrettyChillHotPepper@reddit
The same people whose Christians would have their young sons ripped from their breasts to be enslaved and their daughters abducted to be made into sex slaves... was proudly Turkish?
Not all Albanians are Muslim.
AntBeneficial2863@reddit
true they act like we, christian albanians dont exist
Kejo2023@reddit
Blablablabla, typical Reddit user Romanian wannabe crusader answer. Yes. The majority, by far, is Muslim. Yes, yes, very secular, very European, absolutely different than other Muslims, I know, I know.
PrettyChillHotPepper@reddit
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Albania
41% of Albanians are Muslims. About 30% are atheists and agnostics.
Where is your "by far" majority, Turk?
Kejo2023@reddit
Yes, Albanians only live in Albania, riiiight. You know sh't about the Balkan probably because you're a Romanian which is fine but don't expect me to educate you. Bye.
End of discussion.
PrettyChillHotPepper@reddit
Keep turk-washing history, little bro, whatever makes you and your genocide-denying nation sleep better at night.
Financial_Value6545@reddit
No budy. The albanians rebelet for the next 450 years with a rebellion every 25 years. We rebelled so hard that it was forbidden to write and speak Albanian. It was legalized in 1907. The ottomans came up with the idea that whomever was a Muslim Muslim believer was identified as Turkish while orthodox were identified as Greek. Yes there were Albanians who served the ottomans. As any nation we have our opportunists. But mostly our history is one of rebellions drown in blood. And yet here we are seeing a young ottoman rewriting history. And by the way the name is Gjergj Kastrioti Terror for the ottomans.

Turkish War of Independence?
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
Against Greece only?
ShitassAintOverYet@reddit
Lmao no
Start of the war is considered 19th May 1919 where Atatürk landed on Samsun and said "You know what fuck it I'm not following Sultan's orders" shortly followed by publishing the reason why. First and main opponent was always Ottoman authority.
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
Yeah that guy was cool. 😅
iboreddd@reddit
Actually the first opponent of the movement was Ottoman Empire itself
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
Oh yeah in fact you are right.
WatercressFuture7588@reddit
Oh, I can’t believe I’m seeing the Michael movie here. Those historical films from communist-era Romania had some incredible mise-en-scène and battle scenes that were only possible under a dictatorship with access to cheap labor and massive state funding
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
Coreea de Sud bre?!
WatercressFuture7588@reddit
I watched some movies about the Dacian Wars and other historical events. They were made to promote nationalism under the communist regime, but since they had to be well-made to actually move people, each one turned out to be pretty impressive and genuinely enjoyable to watch
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
This is not about Dacians. 😂
WatercressFuture7588@reddit
Yeah, I know. I was talking about a bunch of historical movies made under Ceaușescu’s government, like Michael, Dacian Wars, Mircea, Stephen, stuff like that
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
Oh, ok
Parking-Hornet-1410@reddit
Can you let me know where you watch them? YouTube? Which ones are good?
WatercressFuture7588@reddit
Saw it on YouTube. there's this channel that’s all about old Romanian movies from before the 2000s

Thank you!!!

My region gave the biggest defeat for an islamic army ever. The battle of Vaslui.

We had a Great Bosnian uprising (1831-1832) led by Husein Gradaščević. To be fair, Bosniaks used to be very loyal part of Ottoman Empire, but we wanted to have more autonomy. 200 years later, we still sing about thir uprising, but we can't deny that many Bosniaks still like that Ottoman part of our history. It was first of all Islamic/Muslim Empire and then Turkish, so religious muslim Bosniaks mostly feel nostalgic about this Empire.

Albania had a strong resistance with Skanderbeg but after his death, it fell apart. The mountains of Albania kept rebelling.
capracucinciiezi@reddit (OP)
We here always used them mountains it's our thing. Probably that's why you and we survived.
