wood grips in the dishwasher feels like a mistake
Academic_Nectarine94@reddit
Depends on the wood. Something like ipe might be fine. Pine would die immediately.
Also, a lot depends on the finish ans your conditioning habits. If you have some crazy epoxy finish it might do nothing. If you never ever oil it, then it'll probably just finish what you started.
I've put a couple knives with wood handles in the dishwasher. My parents did for 40 years off and on. (Not a lot since we didn't have one for many, and it was frowned on, but everyone tosses it in once in a while). Victorinox rosewood handle was fine. Needed oil, but it would after 40 years anyway LOL. The Veri-sharp was less fine. I replaced the handle after it literally crumbled in my hand one day LOL. Again, 40 years. Was it the neglect or the dishwasher? The type of wood really really matters
StockTelephone8113@reddit
This is my sign to go buy some Glock C models. Been putting it off for far too long.
singlemale4cats@reddit
You could just get your existing one magnaported. Surprisingly cheap.
StockTelephone8113@reddit
I agree and have 2 ported glocks from Agency Arms. I really just want a few OEM ported glocks
Ornery_Secretary_850@reddit
inexpensive. There's nothing cheap about Magnaport.
firearmresearch00@reddit
Rappelling with the musket length 9mm is great
MikeyG916@reddit
I actually own a brand new in box Glock 23C.
Bank_Gothic@reddit
I have a 17C. It’s fun to shoot but will blind you at night.
firearmresearch00@reddit
Yea that's how my ported 19 is. Its like staring into a quick weld flash

Excellent, thanks!

If you have to shoot from retention, you’re going to hate that pistol.

Man, the country was so much cooler before Reagan.
nicefacedjerk@reddit
93R will always be sexy AF!!

That colt dishwasher ad is fking epic
JaySwear@reddit
My 17C doesn’t do that! Guess I gotta step it up to .40 Problem Solver
TheDonkeyBomber@reddit
Lost it at #20

Is that the "clever girl" Muldoon shotgun?
Specialist-Ad-5300@reddit (OP)
Yes it is. https://www.reddit.com/r/shittymoviedetails/comments/1ac48e3/in_jurassic_park_1993_robert_maldoon_uses_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
ROVengineer@reddit
What’s with the rounds on the CAW system?
Specialist-Ad-5300@reddit (OP)
AAI’s CAWS entry fired a plastic cased flechette round designated SCMITR, AAI developed this ammunition to increase the shotgun’s range out to 150m while increasing hit probability. H&K, in partnership with Winchester/Olin had developed a similar brass-cased flechette round, however this had suffered issues with accuracy and was quickly abandoned for convention buckshot. The wider, flatter flechettes of AAI’s SCMITR ammunition were developed to have improved wounding potential and were reputedly able to penetrate up to 76mm of pine board or up to 3mm of mild steel plate at 150m.

.30 carbine in a pistol is kinda wild is it not?
Ornery_Secretary_850@reddit
Ruger has chambered a Blackhawk in .30 Carbine for years.
I really need to buy one, just because.
GumboDiplomacy@reddit
.30 carbine is in the same neighborhood as .357 magnum in energy and ballistics, on the lower end typically. But yes it's absurd just because of the length of the cartridge. I've got sizeable hands and I've held one of those .30 carbine handguns and it wasn't comfortable.
singlemale4cats@reddit
Seems like a waste. It's less powerful than hot .44 magnum loads even in a rifle.
Fit_Monitor1267@reddit
Put the colt in a dishwasher 🤣
BandGeek96@reddit
Really need a Time Machine to go back and buy at those prices.
BasedVal@reddit
“What’s the operation?”
“Mountainous terrain in an arid environment. You might even do some rappelling.”
“Better give me the semi auto HK94 then.”
CROSS_OF_CHAOS1@reddit
Where do i find a space glock
10gaugetantrum@reddit
I enjoy vintage advertising. Thanks for sharing. Not gonna lie, you really got me with that one.
NoImag1nat1on@reddit
You lost me at the 1911 in the dishwasher - smells AI funny
NotADirtyRat@reddit
Sad, would see some of these donated to goodwill.. imagine important or valuable books and magazines thrown into donation boxes so big, that the books on top destroy and crush the books and magazines on bottom. And then they just get tossed in salvage if any bad wear or deformation of books.
ILikestoshare@reddit
Damn I need that black dong holster.
lukas_aa@reddit
I wonder if there‘s a fleshlight version too?
Competitive-Move-747@reddit
I too as many others wash their colt in the dishwasher every week😎🤘🏽. I thought This tradition was lost to the ages, glad to see it coming back around. Nothing like a jet-dry finish.
Real-Swimmer-579@reddit
I want a Beretta 93r so SO badly. Id buy one if I ever got the chance. I think the mechanism that works it is so cool too
singlemale4cats@reddit
I don't think there's any transferables. You would have to break into some government armory somewhere 😔
YankeeTwoKilo@reddit
One of these things is not like the others 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Melon_Llama@reddit
HAHAHAHA PEEEENIS!!!!
boomoptumeric@reddit
Yeah, where can I find the dildo holster? Asking for a friend
PlayingDoomOnAGPS@reddit
Dildolster
Polyphemic_N@reddit
My wife would 😍
SampSimps@reddit
It kind of feeds into that whole line of attack from hopolophobes that we're all just small-dicked men with size envy.
smokeyser@reddit
That theory has been studied and disproven. It's actually the opposite, and men who are packing heat are more likely to be packing heat.
Total-Special5298@reddit
You are missing the classic HK pistol ad where the marketers loaded the rounds backwards in the mag…!
9EternalVoid99@reddit
Seeing an m93r on what appears to be an ad pains me to the core
cube1100@reddit
We can only dream…. 😭
9EternalVoid99@reddit
Literally, I would be the first customer
Tiny-General-3700@reddit
I saw that .30 Carbine Automag on Demo Ranch, thing looks like it really fucks. He seemed to have a lot of fun shooting it.
Inevitable-Draw5063@reddit
I can’t believe I never knew there was a pistol in .30 carbine
cube1100@reddit
Dude that Beretta 12s is fucking sweet. Crazy I don’t think it’s ever been in a call of duty
get_down_to_it@reddit
The SPAS and the Uzi ads fuck hard
xTeamRwbyx@reddit
God, I wish I could get a Spas 12 cheapest on broker is 3500k going to 10k usd, and I'm broke
someday if I win the lotto ill buy one
KittehKittehKat@reddit
Tec 9 😭
Still want one of those POSs.
DNCOrGoFuckYourself@reddit
Automag III or a .44 Automag are grail guns.
I know they’re unreliable, but the cool factor? 👩🍳 💋
SconsinBrown@reddit
Once you go black…
psykotedy@reddit
Aside from an article about the French Foreign Legion I read about a billion times as a tween, these ads have summarized everything I remember from all of the Soldier of Fortune magazines I got my hands on.
2Drogdar2Furious@reddit
I'll take one of each!
jfoughe@reddit
The Uzi ad fucks
MalcolmSmith009@reddit
Smith and Wesson throwing shade at Ruger hahaha
Lupine_Ranger@reddit
If only they had the quality to back up their statement at the time lol.
Ruger's revolver lineup was phenomenal back then
CrypticQuery@reddit
They're making a valid criticism of the Ruger GP100 there IMO. The GP100 is thick as all hell and overbuilt, and the S&W 686 is noticeably more svelte by comparison. (Though, to be fair, I do prefer Ruger's previous Security/Service/Speed Six revolvers to the GP100 that replaced them.)
smokeyser@reddit
They're not overbuilt. Just built to last.
MalcolmSmith009@reddit
Yeah I want a speed six 357
Lupine_Ranger@reddit
I've got a Service Six 2.75" stainless. One of my favorite wheelguns.
Inner-Opposite-3492@reddit
That HK 94 special forces ad is etched in my brain from when I was a kid reading SOF magazine.
Inner-Opposite-3492@reddit
HK
dooshlaroosh@reddit
Yep, that one & the dude in the swamp(?) carrying the HK 91.
Inner-Opposite-3492@reddit
I know exactly the one! Wow…memory unlocked!
link_dead@reddit
SPAS 12 please come back to us :(
ardesofmiche@reddit
The Uzi ad is wicked cool.
LiberalLamps@reddit
That’s my favorite too.
I’m also surprised Beretta advertised the 93R since they never sold any commercially.
Vaamp6969@reddit
My barber in SC is really old school and has so many gun magazines from the 90s to now. They had some awesome stuff in there.
BikerGremling@reddit
My vote goes to the UZI add. Best blend of 80s and cool.
kelevra423@reddit
I have a 22c 3rd gen she still shoots good 👍
nosce_te_ipsum@reddit
Seeing a Telex number in the Glock ad - and remembering working a Telex in my first job - definitely cemented the "vintage" aspect.
Nice finds!
BonjinTheMark@reddit
The guy with the Spas almost looks like Bronson.
nosce_te_ipsum@reddit
My first thought was one of the CIA guys sent to train the Sandinistas, given the era of the ad.
255001434@reddit
This just reminded me of how much I want a Beretta M12S.
specter800@reddit
Those Glock comp ads were all over gun stores when I started shooting and I wanted one so bad. Grabbed a 19C later on and love it to death. I won the Glock trigger lottery with it too because without any polishing it's the best Glock trigger I own that isn't a GPT.
CodenameDinkleburg@reddit
Pic #8 Fr**ce isn’t part of Europe lmao
PacoBedejo@reddit
Separate division for France with a focus on drop safety.
CodenameDinkleburg@reddit
That does make more sense but I like my joke
nlevine1988@reddit
Why did you censor France?
CodenameDinkleburg@reddit
Because yuck /j
Real answer: it’s a meme from NCD and I have brain rot
Billy_Bob_Joe_Mcoy@reddit
Man I feel old now..
tykaboom@reddit
Should spam kimber with the stainless colt ad.
Really get their blood boiling.
Smith and wesson has the most stainless steel, in my honest opinion.
tehminioven@reddit
The last pic got me off gaurd
snuffy_bodacious@reddit
I mean, I love washing my 1911 in the dishwasher.
Don't you?
GrimIntention91@reddit
Why is the 1911(#4) in a fuckin dishwasher?
netsurf916@reddit
Because it's stainless and won't rust 🙂
GrimIntention91@reddit
Says "all weather" and "keep out of kitchen". Doesn't seem very imaginative.
netsurf916@reddit
I think that's a bit of fine print leaked into the main statement to counteract the joke of the image.
HeftyBawls@reddit
Where can I get one of those holsters? Asking for a friend.
TheRealTwooni@reddit
I want to go back…. Please take me baaaacckkk…..
I17eed2change@reddit
Pure gold. We need more cool firearm ads again.
