Smith and Wesson
.38 special 6 shot. The model on the gun 10-9 (still could not find on google)
heroinebob90@reddit
Sort of a chiefs special with a aftermarket houge grip that’s to big for it
thatG_evanP@reddit
That's not a Hogue grip and it's also not too big for the gun at all.
fuzzycaterpillar123@reddit
It’s too big in the sense that it’s not proportional and somewhat defeats the purpose of a easily concealable pistol
A_Queer_Owl@reddit
but it would make the pistol not complete ass to use, like the factory grip does.
fuzzycaterpillar123@reddit
I have multiple snub noses. They are fine if you trains
That’s like getting a Glock 26 and using a 17 round mag with grip filler because it’s more comfortable
Yeah, no one is going to argue it’s less comfortable, but at that point you should just get a Glock 17.
A_Queer_Owl@reddit
and I learned to shoot on my mom's model 36./
I never said you couldn't get good with them, but training to mitigate the deficiencies of your weapon doesn't make the deficiencies not exist.
fuzzycaterpillar123@reddit
Well you said it’s complete ass, which I disagree with
Again, I don’t think many people get glock 26’s and call the short grip a deficiency - the short grip is a feature on a small gun. The point of the design is to be small
A_Queer_Owl@reddit
nah, a small grip is definitely a deficiency, it negatively impacts the performance of the weapon in its role as a weapon. but you are choosing that deficiency with the intent of more effectively concealing it. a deficiency with intent and purpose is usually called a compromise.
fuzzycaterpillar123@reddit
No it meets spec. A long handle on a gun designed for concealment is a deficiency
A_Queer_Owl@reddit
that's one way to look at it. I'm coming from the perspective of "what is the most effective personal weapon." at the top is a rifle, then the varying handguns in mostly descending size. tiny hand guns are near the bottom of the firearms section, because they have a lot of compromises. short barrels, tiny grips, and low capacities. but you accept these deficiencies because who the fuck wants to carry a rifle everywhere or be flashing their gat all over town?
fuzzycaterpillar123@reddit
Again, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who unironically posted a picture of a Glock 26 with a 17 mag and grip spacer, and we both know a post like that would be criticized
It would objectively be a bit silly, and a vast majority of gun people would recognize the paradox
A_Queer_Owl@reddit
people post stuff like that all the time, tho. hell, someone posted on the CZ sub a P10 they customized that has a P10C slide on a modified P10F frame. they wanted a 19 round capacity and fullsize grip without completely compromising concealability. they created a deficiency in concealability to make a more effective weapon.
fuzzycaterpillar123@reddit
Show me the Glock post
heroinebob90@reddit
Correct
ParkerVH@reddit
Those are Uncle Mike’s finger groove grips. Soak up recoil very well too.
heroinebob90@reddit
Nice one man.
ParkerVH@reddit
Hard to find these days. Seen some on eBay and they’re priced high yet don’t last long.
StevenMcStevensen@reddit
This is definitely a 6-shot cylinder though, and it looks a bit big for a J-Frame to me. I agree with snubnose Model 10 instead of Model 36.
heroinebob90@reddit
Cool one either way
lundah@reddit
It’s a Model 10-9, which is just a variant of the Model 10.

Expensive_Ad_931@reddit (OP)
What holster would fit it or would it be under a different name?
lundah@reddit
Anything that fits a Model 10. It’s one of the most common S&W revolver models out there, there should be a wide range of options.
Expensive_Ad_931@reddit (OP)
Thank you
NthngToSeeHere@reddit
You are looking for a 2" bbl K-frame holster.

Smith & Wesson Model 38 .38 Special S&W Caliber Revolver
NthngToSeeHere@reddit
The model 38 is a shrouded hammer J-frame aka the Bodyguard. Not even close.
Kromulent@reddit
If you open the cylinder, you'll see the model number stamped on the frame under the hinge (aka the crane).
Driven2b@reddit
Open the cylinder, should be marked under the barrel. Iirc
Woodpusherpro@reddit
Very common.
Here is the Wikipedia page. Go to variants to find yours, and whatbthey changed with each variant of the model 10.
