General bike advice, but don’t underestimate the risk. There are more E-bike fatalities than on motorcycles because riders don’t think they need gear.

What gear would you recommend? Helmet and lights of course, anything else?

To add to my previous comment, pretend like you’re invisible and nobody sees you. Don’t assume cars will stop.

This is 100 percent accurate. Ride like they're going to hit you, like you're invisible. This mindset has saved me from catastrophies that would have left me in the hospital. I think the number one mistake I see is that people assume drivers see them and or, care at all about how their driving impacts a rider. 9/10 times I've seen people get hit it's the riders fault for not maintaining awareness and anticipating what cars will do.

Absolutely. Almost everything from motorcycling transfers to bicycles.

Doesn't hurt to get a padded jacket. I would look at beyond Riders they make great ebike gear that looks good.

I'd say be aware of your foot placement and footwear. Ebikes can go really fast, and catching your foot under a pedal at high speeds can really mess it up.
I see people riding with open-toed sandals from time to time and it reminds me of some very unpleasant injuries I had as a kid.
Outrageous-Ad-7945@reddit
Id say it depends on your experience and environment, but the more the better.
I always have a helmet and gloves, so I can protect my brain and catch myself with confidence if I fall. My wife also uses wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads, but she doesn’t have much experience on two wheels at all.
Being visible and looking ahead is also very important. It’s easy to fixate on what’s 10 feet in front of you and not see an obstacle in time.

That's when slowest wickest bikes made in the good beginner bike before if you're over a 100 and 3040 pounds, I don't see going over 12 mile an hour, so if you're about 6070 pounds like the sad person that should have that week of a bike. It'll pull you 1520. And if you're over 200 pounds, I mean, try to ride it cuz, you can burn the black murder up and your speed controller. Trust me, my fat ass cousin. Just done them same bike, and he's just a 180 pounds. It went three quarter mile up road battery cut on fire. The display started bawling smoke

Please refrain from making confusing comments that make no sense. If you can't articulate real life experience accurately and in a way that makes sense, keep it to yourself.

I would invest in some sort of protection for your rear wheel, like Tanus armor or some sort of sealant just in case. Unlike the front wheel the rear wheel does not have a quick release hub. It's bolted and requires double the work to remove and repair. I just experienced my first flat on my ebike and it was the rear wheel. Let me tell you it wasn't hard but it was time consuming.
Fantastic-Air9854@reddit
Tennis armorist garbage, if you want something that's really gonna seal the hole, I've sealed up to half inch holes. I drilled in one tire, not 1, but 5 of them and a product called flat out. It's about 40 yd, a bag with a treat. All 4 lawn, more tires are out for forward. Tires or 2 car tires? Harwood Semi attire Rich, weren't the money? That's pretty. I'm sure it's called flat out. no more flats then

Did you just have a stroke my dood
concretecowboy316@reddit
It's always the damn rear. Get some flat out to help.
Watershipdownrules@reddit
Don’t ride in the rain.
Ok_Credit2691@reddit
Why? Never had an issue.

For the love of God please maintain situational awareness at all times, and try to anticipate what vehicles will do on the road. Personally have an E Bike that Does keep up with city traffic at 45. I can confirm that you're practically invisible on a bike even if it weighs 100lbs and is twice the size of you. Lights on at all times, headlight, taillight, turn signals, etc. Ride with traffic when possible and treat it like a motorcycle.

You should be pretty safe on that. Cause at the most, it might have a 350 W motor that maxes up to 500. So you looking at top speed Twitter? What are you doing 15.5 and 20 mile an hour? Unless you're peeling her hard wooden, you might see 23 going downhill. But unless you just plume clumsier, I like to jump stupid stuff, I mean, the worst it does scraping me up. Cause they were for beginners. They're slow and safe. Is it the little baby 20 inch tires? My bike is 29 inch style tires, 6 and a 1/2 inches wide. I got a 5000 W motor in the front 5000 W motor in the back, both of Max had 10000 and I got 7500. What men murder? So I'll together. The man motormax is at twelve hundred, so i've got twenty one thousand what dual motor and three batteries i've already headed up to a 112 on the interstate. I will be going for the world record in the next 10 days. It's currently a 115 monor I'm gonna set my side to a 150, would you think somebody was serious? Nerve Guts and balls to beat that one, and I've got the power To do it too, you just gotta have enough nerve to hold it that long. And he didn't keep front wheel on the ground because mine takes off like a rocket, both motors, pulling well, actually all three of them.I got him out in the front motored, a motor in the middle and the other in the back if anybody would actually like to know the time and date, then I'm gonna do this and see the actual video will be happening. And yes, I'm going to have 3 representative from Guinness book of world records there. H m's gonna have their own a laser rate laser radar. Gun a regular radar gun. And a new kind of radar gun runs off a digital signal. Now I'm going to have reach out 3 space together. See if I get to that magic 150 mile per hour number. Anyway, if you want to see it, hit me message. And I'll see it to you. It won't be long from now. The bike's already ready. In my email isjshaw5257@gmail.com just let me know if anybody interested in saying the world record broke by a thirty five mph not just passing it up by two or three mph

Wear a helmet and use a helmet mirror - they're the best for total situational awareness.
When riding on roads shared with cars, especially downhill when you can keep up with traffic, you are safer riding in the middle of the road than you are hugging the curb. If you hug the curb you are harder to see and have less time to react if someone pulls out in front of you. This especially applies to roads where cars are parallel parked. Don't ride close enough to parked vehicles to get "doored".
You have the right to be on the road, but you need to follow the rules of the road. At all times, assume you are invisible to other drivers, and if they do see you, remember that they're likely to be assholes anyway.

Learn how to properly charge your battery. Always charge the battery if its between 15%-20% And charge it up to 95% that will assure the longest battery life for you. I used this tactic and my battery is still in perfect condition after 6 years of use and around 5000km.
