In your opinion, what were the boys’ worst musical takes?

For instance: Carcass’s Heartwork rules, actually.
digit4l_r4in@reddit
I fucking love B&B but damn if they don't make fun of all my favourite bands - Morbid Angel, Death, Carcass... hell, even ripped on Grim Reaper!
HB1088@reddit
It’s not Wolverine Butt-head. My friend and I say that to each other all the time. For no reason.
Im_Not_Evans@reddit
Bow to me splendidly? What does that mean?
GreenZebra23@reddit
They went at Grim Reaper twice lol. "Stop! In the name of all that which does not suck!"
Eightball007@reddit
Beavis’ scream when he pops up in the straight-jacket cracks me up
Curlytoes18@reddit
He won a blue ribbon in the pig contest
The_BSharps@reddit
Breakin the law, breakin the law enters the chat.
BowTie1989@reddit
He wasn’t wrong, but ever since Butthead noted that Dave Mustain’s singing voice sounds like Beavis, I can’t unhear it.
jarviskokar@reddit
They made fun of Morbid Angel. They said Breaking the Law sucks. I believe they even failed to recognize Metallica at some point
genericusername7865@reddit
That take on Morbid Angel was hilarious. Took a dark video and totally lightened it.
duecesbutt@reddit
Isn’t this where Washing the Dog comes from?
IGetGuys4URMom@reddit
I remember. I don't see how anyone can like Judas Priest and not like Breaking The Law. And to think that B&B even sang along to the chorus.
Hammerdown95@reddit
They said James Hetfield looks like the cowardly lion
IGetGuys4URMom@reddit
That was just Butt-Head's opinion.
Hammerdown95@reddit
I couldn’t remember which one of them said it. Haven’t seen it in a while lol
IGetGuys4URMom@reddit
Understood. I have to admit that ever since this subreddit appeared in my feed, I've been looking up B&B clips more than ever to refresh my memory.
Chaghatai@reddit
They like the song but they didn't like the video
Eightball007@reddit
I agree. They were like “this is gonna be cool!” but then they were like “why is rob dressed like that?” and it’s all downhill from there.
“Look at his shoulders” lmao
Curlytoes18@reddit
My husband and I laughed about that forever (he's a Judas Priest fan). Every time a JP song comes on in his car - "why is he doing that with his shoulders??"
IGetGuys4URMom@reddit
IIRC, Butt-Head said "I like Judas Priest, but this sucks."
CatBoyTrip@reddit
that is crazy cause breaking the law was one of their chants when they were getting siked up.
IGetGuys4URMom@reddit
The craziest thing to me, is that B&B both hated Glam Metal and Death Metal. Usually if you hate one, then you like the other.
RubbrWalrusProtector@reddit
This dude is OLD.
(End of the Painkiller vid, but nevertheless)
JohnnyChooch@reddit
The joke might also be that this was Metallica's first video after saying they would never make one, and the intro sounds so little like any previous Metallica, that even a die-hard Metallica fan would fail to recognize it.
future_forward@reddit (OP)
Yeah – I know they hated the video but don’t remember if that extended to the song.
Notably they occasionally will incorporate “breaking the law” into their lives (“washing the dog, washing the dog”)
elemjay@reddit
I think that was a case of they liked the song, but hated the video.
scribblerjohnny@reddit
"Hello boils and ghouls welcome to Tales of my Nutsack!" Nobody wanted to imagine the Cryptkeeper's nutsack.
Curlytoes18@reddit
They turned off Rick James’ Superfreak - after thinking he was MC Hammer
Tough_Jazzlike@reddit
butthead said he couldn't watch it and changed the video; not because he didn't like it, but for a very different reason
Curlytoes18@reddit
What reason?
future_forward@reddit (OP)
Oh man this one’s amazing!!!! but a little different than what I had in mind since it’s so in-character
BatofZion@reddit
I like King Diamond. Yes, he looks crazy, but sometimes metal bands have that look.
Itchy_Gain_1519@reddit
He was one of the pioneers of the “corpsepaint” look found in black metal actually.

Though I laugh my ass off every single time, Twiggy Twiggy Twiggy by Pizzicato 5 is a bop.

chpr1jp@reddit
They didn’t dislike the song. (Fellow P5 fan, by the way.)
britlogan1@reddit
That’s true. I just remember how they made fun of the guys in the group, but they don’t mention the song
Fabulous_Ad_8621@reddit
I have the complete DVD boxset, but for some reason the music video segments aren't included in the episodes. The sticker on the front says "INCLUDES TV EPISODES, THE MOVIE AND MUSIC VIDEOS"
future_forward@reddit (OP)
There are a few on there in the extras – for whatever rights reasons they couldn’t clear everything at the time, maybe not even now (Paramount still doesn’t have all the episodes).
Rather than have the videos appear sporadically they just pulled them all, which I think was a good idea under the conditions.
Fabulous_Ad_8621@reddit
I was guess it had something to do with rights. I've wondered how they were allowed to include them in the first place tbh
Grundle95@reddit
“Damn it, every time you think something cool’s about to happen he just starts showing off how strong he is.” -Butt-Head on Henry Rollins
future_forward@reddit (OP)
His neck tho!
The1Ylrebmik@reddit
Well I took their bagging on the goddess Kate Bush a little personally.
Grundle95@reddit
I remember hearing somewhere that Kate herself thought it was pretty funny, so if she could get over it I’m sure there’s hope for you too
Necessary_Switch_879@reddit
Their Korn take was criminal
Prestigious_Fee750@reddit
*iconic. And I love Korn
Necessary_Switch_879@reddit
It is iconic for sure, but patently wrong. Precisely wrong. It's not just because I love Korn, but the particular criticisms leveled at them were so far off base. Korn was so originally game changing, and yet Judge called them derivative and run of the mill.
Prestigious_Fee750@reddit
The video was derivative is what his claim said. I wouldn’t take anything like that negatively, as they literally criticized everyone even Metallica. I think in hindsight, the video getting shown on B&B made it that much more iconic.
UndeathlyKnight@reddit
No, no, Beavis was right. Korn's music and their video was highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. While on their own, they had a decent groove, but what they had in groove they lacked in originality. One indeed couldn't help but think of Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of alternative rock. Korn honestly does speak less to the heart and more to the sphincter, heh heh heh.
mem1003@reddit
I think there's a problem with their take, as it is highly derivative of many popular takes within the genre.
Necessary_Switch_879@reddit
I see what ya did there McDicker
Gruesome-Twosome@reddit
When they called Crowbar’s music “slow and fat”
…just kidding, that was absolutely on point and hilarious 😂

“These guys are never going anywhere” about Ween
AliceInChainsFan@reddit
When they ripped on Death lol
Grape_Pedialyte@reddit
Their take on Balls to the Wall by Accept. That song in no way sucks.
Ordinary-Badger-9341@reddit
None so far, I've gotten back into BnB recently and I've gotta say they're pretty much always right about what rules and what sucks. They sorta gave Gwar a pass when they showed whatever that awful power ballad they made was that didn't sound anything like their usual style. But other than that they're spot on.
mdmamakesmesmarter99@reddit
I think they said Cannibal Corpse's Seeing Through The Eyes Of The Dead was terrible and that the guys practiced flipping their hair more than their instrument. that was on my favorite album with Chris lol
it's weird to think that 30 years ago, they were too heavy for Mike Judge to understand, when we have all the heavier music they helped inspire. Butthead wears an ACDC shirt, yet doesn't like the ACDC of death metal: still pretty good stuff, but you have to immerse yourself in how silly it sounds at times as a modern listener
Yuck_Few@reddit
I didn't really enjoy any of the Chris Barnes material to be honest
Amazing_Challenge_52@reddit
I’ve said it on another post in this subreddit. I was triggered when they shat on Accept - Balls to the Wall
filipkowski@reddit
That Grim Reaper "See you in hell" is the best.
future_forward@reddit (OP)
Made it onto the DVD even!
loucap81@reddit
They were watching a Pink Floyd video and they referred to The Beatles as “asswipes” who “ruined music.” It actually was a really funny line highlighting their ignorance, but I can’t think of a worse take than that.
IGetGuys4URMom@reddit
It's a toss-up. I never understand how B&B hated Death (The Philosopher), but there was certainly an ulterior motive why Beavis said "Ween kicks ass" (with Butt-Head agreeing) during Freedom of '76. (Ween were one of the bands on the B&B complication CD.)
