What finally pushed you into quitting a job?

I handed in my notice, they managed to convince me to stay for a pay rise, rather than taking the new job offer at a much more professional and larger company... to then start the redundancy process the next day (resulting in half a dozen people losing their jobs) and to say I may be one of the people affected. I was a hard worker and in a short time, got to know their systems like the back of my hand so you can imagine I was pretty pissed off. I was raging and could've hit someone as they could've been honest about the whole thing. I'd only been at the company for less than 2 years, but that was a long time compared to the current average time people would stay (but that's a whole other story). It just broke my heart that I could've lost out on a better career prospects and work environment because I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Thankfully the recruitment/HR rang me literally the hour before the meeting (at that time I did not know redundancies were happening) to say they were keeping the job posting open for me till the end of that week! I basically snapped their hand off there and then once my company stabbed me in the back. So, the next day I re-handed in my notice and the rest of that conversation was a blur, all I can remember from the conversation was: "We're still getting rid of the same number of people, whether you leave or not" and that's when I knew I made the right choice. That they cared more about the profits than the people that worked there. One of the directors even joked about how they were finally getting rid of all the "troublemakers" (Which couldn't be further from the truth!) Since leaving and joining my new job, I've been so much happier and less stressed about work and will be on more than the pay rise amount they promised me to stay. People I know who still work there are miserable as f\*\*k and can't get out but unfortunately it's not my problem no more...
