Relocated to D.C. last year and just purchased an ebike this month! Today was my first ride and it was an absolute dream. I plan on doing a photo series around the city so I can make a photo collage. I took the advice of the bike shop. When I walk in somewhere I lock it up and throw the battery in my backpack. ☺️

Haha that's what I said but when I was at the bike shop the rep said that when I sit on the saddle my feet need to comfortably touch the ground like they should be flat. Now that you mention it after I ride my knees are not happy. 😅 I am 5'5".

No, your heels should be barely able to touch the paddle to make it really perfect. Personally I would go a bit lower than that so your heels can touch them comfortably

Just remember to spend a minimum of 10% of your bikes value on MULTIPLE locks that aren’t crappy useless cable locks. Chain locks and ULocks that have a minimum security rating or 8/10 or 11/15.

Most e-bike thefts are due to improper lockup procedures.

Yeah I got a pretty decent chain lock by ABUS. It's heavy duty too! I am still working on my lock up procedure though. I feel like it needs multiple locks.

My friend had his Gazelle stolen from a secure indoor lockup. He had the Abus chain lock and 2 krypotonite U locks on it. Cordless grinders suck

It's a step-thru. I have the same ebike, and step-thru is a necessity when you have knee or hip issues.

I love my Discover 2, and with insurance (I have Velo for all my bikes) I can get roadside assistance if I break down 20 miles from home, plus I’m less concerned with theft.

Best $1050 I spent bike was a $100, NBPOWER 3000 watt hub kit approx $600 battery was direct from China I bought 2 for $700 72v 30ah. It has great performance low end torque is excellent, top speed 50mph, no wobble smooth as silk….even though there not made to do 50……

These bikes are cool I love the design. They have a knock off one on Amazon called core but it doesn't have the cool foot rest on the frame like this one does. Props that's a clean ride. I'm in the process of putting a second battery on my bike now. In order to do it I have to add a rack. Take it easy and have a happy Easter

Yes!! This part! D.C. Transit does have a raffle ebike program that also allows for standard people to apply as well. They get a 50% voucher for a bike, helmet and lock. Over 4500 people applied this year so getting selected for a full or partial voucher is rare. ✨
