Anyone know how smooth the rails are on these sandcutters? I've heard of sandcutters chewing up some upper receivers.

Some have found burrs on the edges but I assume that few have that issue. Just feel the edges to make sure you do not feel any burrs before you install it. And watch for any new signs of wear on your upper receiver after the first time you used it for say 20 to 100 rounds. You'd likely want to inspect the lugs and other parts before and after the first few times you use it anyway.

Can you explain a bit for the noobs. What will it feel like on the edges and what will I see in the upper that I don't want to see?

Just look inside the upper where the BCG moves and note any current signs of wear and then watch for new signs of wear each time you clean it. Look in the area of the receiver where the sand cuts move back and forth. Just use your fingers to feel for any sharp edges on the sand cuts.

I have 3 of their sandcutters and never had an issue with that, it’s worth running your finger along the sand cuts to check for unfinished burrs. I’ve noticed my KAK’s can have rougher finish compared to Microbest but it’s in all the non contact surfaces so a non issue

Some like me bought blem Microbest BCGs for backup for future upper purchases. Toolcraft and AO Precision are good too. Just use the search tool in this subreddit to find prior postings and feedback. Some prefer sandcutters but if sand is not an issue for your usage and you do not let your BCG get filthy dirty then do you need sandercutter BCG? I don't know.

I was so bummed I missed out on the first run of these and I don’t know how these are still in stock 8+ hours later but you won’t see me complaining about it.
