Any improvements I can make on my 45 mos build?

Build so far is
GEN 5 Glock 45 MOS $700
Vortex Defender ST 3 MOA dot $300 Streamlight TLR1/HL $165 Radian Ramjet/Afterburner $420 Timney Alpha trigger ultimate kit $275 Glock oem flared mag well $25 Kagwerks extended/raised slide stop lever $75 Trijicon optics height sights $160 2x Handle-It-Grips Edge series grip tape $20 2x Strike Industries +5 mag extensions $35 T.REX ARMS AIWB sidecar holster $120
Total cost $2350 Only thing else I can think of would be getting a better light and optic and possibly stipple/ double undercut but other than that any suggestions would be appreciated

No thanks
bachfrog@reddit
Enjoy the unreliability ride my friend
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
4000+ rounds later no malfunctions or reliability issues to speak of will check back in after 10000+ but so far nothing to be concerned about
bachfrog@reddit
Big ole doubt
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Back after having on 10,000 rounds through it and still not a single jam or light primer strike
Professional-Base134@reddit
1st time trigger last one Jon wick strike

Love mine way better than off shelf g19 wayyy better built 3 n all were bettter
mwmwmwmwmmdw@reddit
my recommendation is stop blowing money on 1 gun and go buy another instead
Antique-Heat3817@reddit
No you are absolutely wrong. making the weapons that you enjoy and are proficient with 10x times better for you will make you even more proficient than just buying a new gun
HatchChileMacNCheese@reddit
Have you run it? What works and what doesn't ?
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Runs flawlessly no malfunctions and I’ve ran just about 4000 rounds though it so far
HatchChileMacNCheese@reddit
What are you finding that you wish you'd change? Otherwise I'd say this looks complete as hell
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I mean nothing major just little things here and there
HatchChileMacNCheese@reddit
Id say the build is complet, i I would switch out the tlr1 for an x300 and the vortex dot with something closed emitter but those are personal preferences
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Yeah that’s basically what I was thinking
ReverendReed@reddit
Overpaid on nearly everything.
$540 G45 $200 Vortex Defender $230 Timney $95 Trijicon Etc etc
Now go shoot in in competition, and get wrecked in the open divison.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Besides this was never built as a competition gun it was strictly just a dream build since it’s my first handgun and what I shoot 90% of the time at the range
Caelum_@reddit
I'm not shitting on you like some others. But you should definitely go do some competitions. They're a ton of fun.
I never placed like top 20% but I had a ton of fun competing. I used to shoot a shit load at the range and actually got really bored. But my as soon my buddy and I started competing, it was like a completely different feeling when going to the range.
It's awesome. Can't recommend it enough
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I feel ya and yeah I’ve really been wanting to get into competitive shooting so I can actually see how I can stack up against other competitors and not other people at the range I go to
Caelum_@reddit
In my opinion it's a better use of money towards the hobby than buying more shit
Illustrious-Eye9083@reddit
Nothing wrong with that homie. Enjoy the things you spend your money on. I will say, competitions are fun, even if you don’t win. Good place to practice and track progress
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Hell yea I appreciate that took a long time to get it to where it at and I’m still trying to get it perfect
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
“The open division” where basically everyone is spending 5-15k on there race guns sure yeah don’t think I’d have a chance there lol and sure the costs might be a lil off I made this build sheet last year sorry if I’m not perfect😂
Singlem0m@reddit
This glock is legal for carry optic in IDPA. Mine is in a similar configuration, and it's quite competitive.
If you want to keep pouring money into it just because, send the frame out to have trigger guard undercuts done. You can also have a chopped back strap blended into your frame, so you get a removable beavertail without the full backstrap.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Really?? I thought the gun had to have stock trigger and internal for carry optics
Singlem0m@reddit
It's good to go for carry optic in IDPA at least.
gafsstolemysoul@reddit
Most people that shoot open at my local matches are just shooting Staccato XC's, or comped carry guns lol
dragonslayer137@reddit
The tool doesn't matter nearly as much as the operator.
No_Passenger_977@reddit
Open division is mostly tards with Tauruses.
Broseidon_62@reddit
Just say you’re broke, my guy
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
?
Spess_Mehren@reddit
You don't have to get "wrecked" shooting in open, you'll just be at a disadvantage shooting minor scoring. You can still learn a ton and even put up competitive scores if you're shooting mainly alphas.
dmharvey79@reddit
Yes, put it back to OEM configuration and practice with it.
ExerciseMinimum3258@reddit
Gas pedal from Align or Blacksteel USA
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Yeah that’s probably the next mod for sure I’ve also been looking at the antimatter wing gaspedal but I’d have to get a SureFire X300 to make it work
ExerciseMinimum3258@reddit
Not sure I would get the Anti matter, because the grip angle looks to low for the support hand. I haven’t tried one but that’s just my opinion. I got like 4 aligns on my glocks and they’re perfect. I got a blacksteel on my 365xmacro and I bought all three different sizes to figure out which one would work.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I mean it basically makes you rest your support hand thump the top edge of the light which is basically where I already rest it but yeah it’s all about personal preference on what you like to do but I’m definitely gonna go with one of them and I definitely like the idea of having a gas pedal that’s holster compatible
porkmyass@reddit
Put a can on it.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
lol if I had tax stamp money I definitely would
Electrical-Fortune7@reddit
Nice one. Looks good to me!
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I appreciate it
blkatcdomvet@reddit
Rofl
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
What’s funny?😂
ameruelo@reddit
It would look better with some holster wear from dry fire.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Your definitely right but the trex arms sidecar holster I got only engages the light so it doesn’t wear the slide or frame at all
gun_is_neat@reddit
Nah just toss it in some dirt and rocks so it looks good for pics
Comfortable-Trip-277@reddit
Just be aware that a comp on a carry gun may cause higher felt concussive force when in enclosed spaces and will also shoot hot gases in your face/eyes when shooting from retention
Not saying you need to get rid of it by any means, but just make sure you know to expect it if you are involved in a DGU so you're not caught by surprise.
Very nice gun!
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Yeah I gotcha I have this and also a ported gen5 48 and started hearing some stuff about that but yeah if I’m ever in a self defense situation I think the last of my concerns would be getting gassed in the face/eyes and more making sure I stay alive lol
singlemale4cats@reddit
I think that's a little overblown. I have the same comp on my p365x and all the issues I was "supposed" to have never materialized.
Comfortable-Trip-277@reddit
Have you ever fired it without eyes and ears in an enclosed space like a car or in the retention position?
You're not really going to know if you don't do it. Wearing eyes and ears masks a lot of those issues.
singlemale4cats@reddit
I'm never going to fire any gun without ears if I don't have to. That's not going to be a good day whether or not you have a comp.
I have shot it without eyes from retention, it's not an issue unless you're pointing ports directly your face.
babadook76@reddit
Jesus, I paid $280 for my ramjet. $420 is bonkers
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Where’d you find a ramjet for under $300??
BroccoliLegend@reddit
Replace it with a CZ.... 😆 Im just playin, I don't honestly think there's much more you CAN do....sweet gun!
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I got to shoot a shadow 2 in 40s&w a while back and I really enjoyed it. may have to get one, lol and I appreciate it
Boogaloo-Jihadist@reddit
So is the slide the original or is that an upgrade too? If ok to ask?
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
The slide is original to the gun I just color-filled the markings with a white paint pen
Boogaloo-Jihadist@reddit
Got ya… I got the 45 without the MOS… kinda wish I had gotten it, but hindsight is 20/20.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I feel ya yeah that was one of the things I had to have was being optic ready right out of the box
Rtsmccarthy@reddit
Throw it away and get a 1911!!!
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I got one of those too SIG SAUER 22lr 1911 for plinking
DragonDan108@reddit
In, before some idiot says: Training
Highspdfailure@reddit
Training. It’s the truth.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
lol I feel that I try to be at the range at least once or twice a week but yeah no point in spending all that money if you don’t train with it
Minimum-Web-6902@reddit
Slide cuts for the weight imho
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
I’ve definitely considered it
ClimateQueasy1065@reddit
Like any Glock derivative you should modify it until it’s no longer reliable.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
That’s right the way god intended
Exact-Event-5772@reddit
New slide and finish replacing every single internal part. Basically just make sure to replace every single part of the gun.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Don’t tempt me those G19 noveske slides are on my mind😂
-sparco-@reddit
Press check again and imma slap a...
BustaMimes88@reddit
Get a gf then you’re good to go
Vic-6@reddit
Replace the backplate with a punisher skull.
Makes you 69% more accurate.
WarthunderNorway@reddit
Yeah, put it in the trash and buy a real 1911 ;-p
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Been waiting for that one😂😂😂
WarthunderNorway@reddit
XD
splinter4244@reddit
That’s beautiful. Remember, drip is forever. 💯
Self-MadeRmry@reddit
Well quit shaking it around so much so I can look at it
High_Anxiety_1984@reddit
Nope, no improvements to think of off the top of my head. Looks like you have done it all. I have a G45 non-mos (which I bought before they offered it, and it's a blue label, couldn't pass it up. Very nice by the way.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Hell yea I appreciate it
Ornery_Secretary_850@reddit
Did you even shoot it before you put all that money into it?
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Shot over 1500 rounds though it before adding anything to it
WasabiInternational4@reddit
How many rounds does it hold just curious
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
The stock mags are 17+1 and the extended mag caps brings it to 23+1
babadook76@reddit
You built this yourself, eh?
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Yep everything Installed by me except the iron sights since I don’t have a sight pusher
Aggravating-Unit-941@reddit
That's exactly how it works all they do is write it down how can you be this stupid?
Aggravating-Unit-941@reddit
Heck yeah show that serial number so the boys at the aft can write it down next to your profile. MORON
CFishing@reddit
Why are you dumb?
Aggravating-Unit-941@reddit
I'm dumb I'm not the one helping the aft like yall r
CFishing@reddit
That’s not how that works, that’s not how any of this works.
Connellsbmw@reddit
Is the flashlight a good idea for as an attachment a self-defense weapon? I can only think of someone using it to give away their position rather than seeing better.
annonimity2@reddit
In the day sure but at night I'd like to know what I'm shooting before I send 124 grains of f-you into the void. Besides what else would you put there?
singlemale4cats@reddit
Purple laser or bipod, of course
No-Performance37@reddit
It also blinds the fuck out of whoever’s you are pointing it at.
alltheblues@reddit
It’s not either or. Just because you have a flashlight doesn’t mean you have to use it. It’s there if you need it and it allows you to keep both hands on the gun. It’s also not a searchlight or edc admin light. Carry something in your pocket if you want that.
_a_reddit_account_@reddit
I remember watching a yt video of some fudd saying pistol lights are a bad idea because you'd flag shit when you wanna look at them in the dark. Just carry a seperate edc light then? I dont see a problem.
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Personally I would only use it if I was in a low to no light environment and only to identify if something in front of me is a threat or not other than that it’s good place to rest my thumb while shooting
dezstern@reddit
Aesthetics? Maybe a fancy shmancy slide. Ergos? Stipple job instead of the tape, flared magwell. But honestly if it's working, and you carry it, I say don't fix it.
603rdMtnDivision@reddit
So, I have one of these I jokingly call my "Gen 4.5" as it's a Gen 4 19 slide and a Gen 5 45 frame with nothing more than an x300t on it and some nice Ameriglo sights and it feels pretty stout. With the Radian and everything else is this "heavy" but in a good way? If that even makes sense lmao
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
Compared to my dads stock gen5 45 it’s definitely a bit heavier but definitely in a good way I know what you mean it feels like a really stout handgun now compared to stock
Cdwollan@reddit
Reinstall the Glock factory parts
Bubbly_Ad_9282@reddit (OP)
No thanks
