The whale was directly under our Boat and our local „Guide“ said that it is a minke whale. I Googled it and compared it with the pictures from my Video and was sure that it is No minke whale!:) I was Not aware that these whales Are so rare so im very lucky!! It was in Bunaken (north sulawesi)

Definitely a species of beaked whale.
For Indonesian strandings of beaked whales here is a good source
Based on that, I am leaning towards Goose-beaked Whale (Ziphius cavirostris); but not 100% positive.
I am not as familiar with Deraniyagala’s Beaked whales (Mesoplodon hotaula), but this article’s field marks I think don’t quite match up.

Judging by the video and still I’d definitely lean more towards Longman’s

Very jealous, as a deep sea specialist I adore beaked whales.

That looks like a Cuviers backed whale also known as a Goose-beaked. I’ve seen them here in Monterey, such an awesome shot!

I vote Longman’s. Either way, hugely lucky to have seen a beaked whale! I’m jealous.
