I wonder how effective this type of air defense really is. If imagine not so effective unless there's some sort of link to a command and control or fire control system and link to an air defense radar.

recetly systems like this are becoming increasingly relevant. Pilica can apparantly use Piorun missiles too, and those are really effective.

It is vshorad/point defense. manpads and dual autocannon with optics/thermal imaging and computerized guidance that handles tracking/firing.

presumably pretty decent against uav/drone, and any large aircraft that stumbles into range. no idea how effective it would be against an incoming cruise missile, presumably very dependent on speed of missile.
