Why has the car radio stopped working, except for BBC stations?

Hi, strange question, but a couple of weeks ago the radio on my wife's car just suddenly stopped working. We can still scroll through stations, but there is no sound, except, for some reason, all the BBC stations work perfectly. Anybody got any ideas why this would be the case? If it helps, the car is a 15 plate audi a1.

Probably your DAB tuner has died and the car's radio is falling back to the FM station. Most BBC DAB stations will have an FM equivalent. 6 Music has no FM equivalent (DAB only) so see if you can pick that up.

Haven't tried yet, in case the rest of them disappear. Will be trying that today. More interested in why it happened to be honest

Which part of the county are you at? Which stations are not working? a lot of stations (especially digital) are moving from DAB to DAB+ and you may be affected by that if your radio doesn’t support DAB+

Tried the rescan and no luck. Car is 2015, not 2019, so probably not supporting DAB+.

Check the radio’s waveband options. Audi from 2015 should support DAB+

Switch over to DAB+ maybe? If the stations have switched over and your radio doesn't support it then you won't be able to get them

I’ve you are on DAB it might be the aerial amp has got a problem. When signal is weak DAB goes silent and the channels are grouped up so you lose them in sets. I’ve lost the BBC channels but others are OK. The FM and DAB have separate amps so again, one might work while the other doesn’t.
