I don't want to be 'that one', but I hope they do check for ID. Age restricted items are restricted for a reason. You wouldn't be able to walk into a shop and make the purchase, so why should online shopping be a bypass.

It really depends on driver. I never been asked for id. Though i have been asked for date of birth. If you are 15, just add 3 more years and you should be fine. dont act suspicious, be chill.

Having just flitted I was a bit narked at being told I needed ID to get a knife I’d ordered (passport in a box somewhere, driving licence sent off to DVLA), but the courier took one look at me and just asked for my DOB. I suspect however that - if they’re doing their job properly - they will ask you for ID and refuse to give you the parcel if it shows you’re under 18.

I’m 22 and I bought alcohol the other week, he asked for id and had to enter date of birth into his phone or whatever those things are. So that’s standard procedure for age restricted delivery from Amazon. Good chance ya might not get it.

I am blatantly over 18 and was age checked for vape coils. Delivery driver asked for passport/ licence evidence, at which point I politely asked him if was extracting the urine. Apparently they have had a crack down on age check requirements, but a quick call to his boss went along the lines of ‘if he looks over 18, just note dob, check the box and move on’.

Hey I worked for Amazon for a bit. The way the app works is we have to ask for a year of birth - if that year makes the person under the age of 25 we have to ask to see ID and confirm full date of birth, if the year given makes you over 25 we can just give you the parcel IF you look over 25. Idk about other DSPs but at mine it's the only thing they were really fucking strict about because of that one kid who got stabbed because Amazon delivered a knife to a minor. 18+ parcels were the only ones we weren't punished for returning to depot at the end of the day. Realistically it depends on the driver, some of them truly don't give a shit and will just put any old year in and dump the parcel on the doorstep, some will be a stickler for the rules. It's a crapshoot what you'll get.

I'm in my late 30s and I've been IDed by Amazon drivers multiple times. A couple have only asked me to tell them my DOB, but it's not a given. It's really the luck of the draw. But if you look 15, and no one over 18 is available to take it in, you should accept that you might get rejected.

I regularly order vape gear from Amazon and I am over 50. The guy can see this and just asks for my DOB. My Daughter is 19 and if I am out and she answers the door, she gets the full ID treatment.

I ordered some wine from Amazon this morning, I'm in my late 30s, the Amazon guy didn't ask for any ID, he asked my date of birth and walked away. That said I am quite obviously over 18, perhaps if it's in doubt they'd of asked to see my ID.

They typically ask for your DOB. I have never actually been asked to provide my physical ID, just a date - but I look older than 18, so they trust that I'm not lying when I tell them my DOB. If you look older than your age, you may be ok. If not, they won't give you the item, and you'll get a refund.

It depends on who delivers it in my experience. I order vape coils, and they always ask my D.O.B even though I'm 59. They then enter it onto their device. Just take three years off your D.O.B, and you'll be fine.

Depends, they might just ask you to say your d.o.b so they enter it into the device so they can give you the delivery. Or if they think you look young they may ask to see id. I've only ever had to say my d.o.b to them. But then again I don't look under 18.
