Reminds me of a question on the Polish driving test. Driving in winter, you see on the side of the road a pale, half-conscious freezing person. How can you help him? A) Give him a hot drink. B) Give him alcohol. C) Call a team of paramedics, take him into the car, put him under a blanket.
View on Reddit #53402711

WiseDirt@reddit

And it doesn't have a fourth option - "D) All of the above"?
View on Reddit #53418070

Migraine-@reddit

Just in case you aren't joking, you should NOT give alcohol to a very cold person. Alcohol promotes peripheral vasodilation which makes you *feel* warm, but actually causes you to lose *more* heat and drop your core temperature faster.
View on Reddit #53431273

SpaceIsTooFarAway@reddit

That’s why you drink the alcohol yourself while you wait for the paramedics in your warm car

View on Reddit #53412998

JBaecker@reddit

Yeah but they’re used in a very specific circumstance and you don’t put them on an incline or turn the wheel! Plus, the chances of death are pretty high even if all safety precautions are taken. (I forget which JATO rocket car experiment it was but one of the Mythbusters JATO rocket cars exploded during ignition, which was a great demo of why they spend so much time radio-controlling dangerous vehicle experiments. Ooo and Jesse Combs who subbed in for Kari Byron died in a rocket car accident.) I’d argue that rocket cars drivers are just a specific brand of crazy and that the general advice of don’t attach rockets or jet engines to your car is broadly applicable.

View on Reddit #53402830

night_flight3131@reddit

At least you had options to pick from! When I was one of three women in my aviation law class there was an assignment I had to turn in to my male teacher about what I should do if I get a report of sexual harassment from a female pilot but for some reason the question had to set up the scene as "you are a male and a seasoned former military aviator with considerable overseas combat experience" I had the biggest existential crisis looking at that
View on Reddit #53439060

Puzzleworth@reddit

It was possibly trying to trip you up with the "former military" part? Someone who doesn't catch the "former" might write "tell her to go to JAG" or something.
View on Reddit #53458138

night_flight3131@reddit

Nah, the beginning of the setup was "you are the chief pilot for an air charter company," and the sexual harassment wasn't the only question regarding the scenario. The military thing was just a weird detail about comfort level with explicit language.

Okay so maybe a somewhat controversial observation here. I came from the restaurant biz into aviation. You had to have every menu item memorized. Nothing could be forgotten. Had to be able to know it inside and out. If you didn't score 100% you might as well find new employment. Etc.. Get into working on planes and the training modules were always like this. Always simple answers. Could always retake the test. Always seemed to be the repair stations modules though. The airlines atleast would spice their material up. Just my probably not needed observation for ya. Have a nice day.

Seems like also a way of determining if you even pay attention to details. If you can’t get some basic like this correct, you probably shouldn’t be handling more important tasks

Trick question, you’re supposed to bolt the fuel spill kit to your car’s jet engine BEFORE you start driving. So the cell phone is the only one to use while driving.

How would one even go about "using a fuel spill" at any time, let alone driving? The others I can sort of understand, even if I haven't necessarily operated a jet-engine whilst simultaneously being behind the wheel of my Skoda.

Could be a question to see how seriously you are taking the process. If I were hiring for a job where hundreds of peoples lives were at risk, I wouldn't want to hire a jokester for ground crew. I don't mind having my customer facing crew be a little contrarian though.
