Mega Carrier vs Small Carrier

What would you consider the cutoff would be, truck wise? I want to work for a small carrier when my year is up. But would that be less than 100 trucks, or maybe 200 or more in their fleet

~ 1,000 + trucks is mega. ~500 trucks is medium/large (small mega) . 300-200 is medium. 200-50 is small. Less than 50 is little. Less than 10 is tiny.

It's entirely up to you or me to decide what we think makes a carrier small or medium or huge. I don't think 100 trucks amounts to much. If I OWNED 100, and they usually made me money, I'd be smiling. But I'd still probably want more. If I OWED wuon 100, and the profitability was erratic, I wouldn't be smiling. Swift has 23,000 trucks. It varies daily, though. 20,000 trucks is mega in anyone's world. I think Schneider has around 10,000 (and their count doesn't fluctuate much as Swift's). 10,000 is mega, too. I'm going to say 1000 trucks makes a mega. Probably several terminals, too. A 100-truck operation could be very regional, with one headquarters/terminal/shop.

Thanks for the insight. Yeab ID have to say multiple terminals throughout the US would be a huge advantage to a mega carrier
