Guys; it’s Springtime. Increased traffic enforcement is normal this time of year.

There is a dramatic spike in batshit crazy driving as the weather warms up every single year.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the president or any federal issue whatsoever. I have no reason to lie about it. I’d be the first one sounding the alarm bells if some federal directive or advanced notice was being given on the trampling of rights. I am already quite vocal about the blatant constitutional violations happening currently by this admin.

They dont fit in even in plain street clothes but here's the kicker... they dont fit in around cops either. Entirely different vibe and attitude. While they're storming around not pulling anyone over but just following everyone around, local an state cops are swarming too. Its not normal to see 40-50 undercover suv's, trucks and actual marked cops every day in a 5k person small rural town..

Increased police presence for sure, I also spend a lot of time in the country north of Houston, usually there is one or two town cops in town all day.

Lately there have been a lot of brand new black Tahoes and Tahoe like vehicles with dark tint and no department/precinct/bureau or whatever which is highly unusual and they sprawl all the way into the country about an hour and a half north of Houston. These are some sort of law enforcement. We have unmarked state police with "In God do we trust" that identifies them as state police in slightly older Tahoes.

Good question. Because we work in the system; we see from the inside how absolutely fucked up it is. Literally everything just… doesn’t work how it’s supposed to. From computer systems, to the entire justice system as a whole. You are not going to find many cops who are going to blindly follow orders to violate rights from a government that has abandoned us just the same as it has everyone else. My honest opinion is that you’d have a difficult time finding a concentrated group of men and women who dislike and distrust the government more than cops.

My little anecdotal experience: I live in a very red and rural town in NC (100 miles to the nearest actual city) and the cops here seem very by-the-law and value rights of citizens. There was an anti trump protest here not too long ago (i was surprised) and the cops were all around them acting as lookouts for any trouble or anyone who might try to harm them. It gave me a lot of faith in our little department. Our police chief seems chill AF too.

While I agree it is a bunch of speculation and assumptions, I don't think you can dismiss the concerns just because nothing is being said to local departments. We are very clearly going down towards increasing authoritarianism and these are all common steps that would occur if we continue this way. You almost never see coordination with local police in a situation like this, it just isn't needed. Federal officers and federalized national guard troops would likely be heavily used, and local police would just be expected to enforce new restrictions as they come out.

Bro I’m not sure where you are coming up with this stuff but I believe you need to put down the meth pipe and get some sleep. I’m not even going to begin to dissect your claims because they are based in complete fantasy.

I know that you want to believe that the police departments and justice system as a whole are a large well-oiled machine but it’s not the case. It’s a feat of near impossibility to even get two judges in the same courthouse to agree on a ruling. Unlocking a user account on a government website takes a week and a half. Two police departments ten miles apart don’t even share information on cases the majority of the time.

It would take literal years of work to accomplish any of this nonsense you just spewed. IF there were no resistance from the department heads themselves (which there would be - change is hard for most of these dinosaurs and they’ll fight like hell to prevent it).

Go ahead and cite this “policy” that is intended to break all governmental systems by design. I want to see it on the local, state and federal level. Otherwise it’s purely fiction.

Agreed. I want to slam my head against the wall myself reading about some of the stupid shit cops do at times across the country. There is always room for improvement and I would never deny that. It is important to keep in mind how truly isolated these police brutality/rights violations issues are though. 3 million police - public contacts happen every single year. Out of all those, a handful throughout the year make headlines. A few typically go very, very badly and make big waves. The media then likes to misrepresent facts or outright blatantly lie in order to spin outrage and generate website clicks for ad views which returns revenue for them. It is a sick, twisted, fucked up and dystopian system we are living in. The cops are living in it, too.

NA Leo. I grew up in a small suburb in New England. An extremely safe place to live. I’ve watched that towns police force go from normal small town typical 90’s police force to having full swat like gear, with an armored personnel carrier type vehicle.

To me the scariest thing is that if shtf, that hardware and power won’t go unused, and I don’t even mean by LEO’s. If god forbid something happens to those LEO’s, that gear may fall into the wrong hands and may not be used for good by good intentioned people.

Oyer has since told U.S. media outlets that her firing came shortly after she declined to recommend restoring gun rights to actor Mel Gibson, a supporter of President Donald Trump.

She was one of several Justice Department officials who testified on Monday afternoon before a hearing organized by Democrats in the House of Representatives and Senate about the Trump administration's treatment of the Justice Department and law firms who act in cases disliked by the Republican president.

"I was in the car with my husband and my parents... when I got the news that the officers were on their way to my house where my teenage child was home alone," Oyer told lawmakers.

"Fortunately, due to the grace of a very decent person who understood how upsetting this would be to my family, I was able to confirm receipt of the letter to an email address, and the deputies were called off."

DEMOCRATS BLAST MOVE

Democratic U.S. Senator Adam Schiff of California called the mobilization of the Marshals to deliver a letter an effort to "intimidate and silence" Oyer, while U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland compared it to a move "ripped straight from the gangster playbook."

In the letter to Oyer, Associate Deputy Attorney General Kendra Wharton said the department has "significant confidentiality interests."

These were particularly strong in Oyer's case because of the role Oyer played in making clemency recommendations for the president, Wharton said, referring to the executive privilege doctrine that shields some presidential communications from disclosure to Congress.

"Should you choose to appear before Congress, the department expects that you will abide by your obligations under the law, Department policy, and the applicable rules of professional responsibility," Wharton wrote.

"Those matters include the deliberative processes that underlie pardons, clemency, the restoration of firearm rights, and related decisions."

Bromwich, in his letter to Blanche, said the claim that Oyer's testimony is barred by executive privilege is "baseless" and that she is entitled to certain legal protections for whistleblowers.

Oyer testified on Monday that the Justice Department's letter did not deter her from speaking the truth, saying, "I will not be bullied into concealing the ongoing corruption and abuse of power at the Department of Justice."

I recall that during the Obama administration, there was a great deal of concern in some quarters of a martial law, military take over. There were groups who would watch military bases, interstate highways ,railway lines and air traffic for increased military activity. Some of these groups took this short of thing very seriously. Well, guess what? It didn’t happen. I don’t think there are enough troops and police to enact martial law. Remember, during the Iraq War, it took two army divisions to hold Baghdad. How many would it take to control Houston or Chicago?

Same thing in our small town. The reasoning I get is they expect more civil disobedience as people lose their govt support programs. We have a high % of the population armed and ready to take up malita. So the local police are getting ready along with military reserves in the area.

National guard was called by the governor and recently arrived in albuquerque and I think las cruces, but that might be part of the militarization of the border.

I don’t live in albuquerque but moved nearby last year and watch their news. She says it’s to “assist police with handling the crime problem” but the mayor -while fully backing her order- said the numbers have been dropping for all crimes for months. The crime is bad, but it’s been “getting better”. I don’t see any event that triggered her order. And they’re saying the national guard won’t be acting as LE, just “supporting”. It’s very weird. Feels like they have some other plans.

Might have something to do with reckless 18 wheeler drivers, I noticed a ton of big rigs driving like assholes last time I drove out west, passing in the left lane at 85 mph+ etc. Big rigs are basically 80% of what you see on the highway in the flyover states. A lot of new drivers and immigrants have been put behind the wheel of big rigs due to a labor shortage and now people are realizing it's a big safety issue.

As someone who lives in a small military training camp area, I’m always seeing military vehicles on the highway (literally my backyard. I have notice a huge uptick in the past month, but that did also include a lot of military folks helping the community north of me with their major ice storm (not hard to figure out where I am). Even now that power and everything is back, I’m able to hear and see multiple convos on the highway (literally right now). Yes some are heading north to help clear the down trees and clean up more, but also training. Only hear one or two helps a day, but it’s unusual since they won’t start any major training for a few more weeks. I know the major training for two weeks don’t happen til August, and between now and then it’s a few units training weekly.

Total government takeover seems as highly unlikely today as ever. Sure, the political climate is bad right now; but a full scale coup d'état? Please.

I was in military intelligence for a while, and in that time I bounced around several elite JSOC units (as support, not trying to steal valor). I have to say, those groups have two attributes which give me constant solace:

They VERY SERIOUSLY mind the United States of America, and they VERY SERIOUSLY mind the constitution. A coup would be a blatant example of a "threat both foreign and domestic". The leadership there knows more about everything going on politically than we do, and they are not stupid. In fact, they are frighteningly intelligent and cunning.
Whatever JSOC sets its mind to WILL BE DONE.

Retake the capitol from a group enacting a coup, now officially labeled seitious? Fuck me running 🏃‍♂️ I would honestly feel bad (not an exaggeration) for any fucks dumb enough to try it. COULDN'T HAPPEN. They would be up against, at least, the full might of: Delta Force, Special Forces, SEALS, 75th Ranger regiment, Force Recon, Raiders, pararescue Supermen, to name some.

Now, in the craziest fall of the West scenario imagineable, those groups would die fighting... DIE FIGHTING... for the idea of our liberal democracy. If they were able to muster a coordinated martial action with a single big ass air or motorized group? FORGET IT. Literally no force on Earth could withstand it. Anything, tanks, planes, helos, armored cars. Done.

I don't think many people who freak out because some more police are out actually doing their fucking job for a change really don't understand the big ol' world we live on.

Everyone is going on with this weird shit about [anything] is proof Drumpf is gonna 'take over'. How? What is the strategy? The only thing that makes anything secure in the US is, really, the military. Military keeps our sovereign nation defended. Military keeps the government safe in every aspect. Without them Putin or Xi or Kim would walk into to Oval Office and put their feet on the desk.

So, who the fuck is going to keep seditious treasonists safe? Not the military. And without that NONE of them will be safe. Their protectors will become their persecutors. It just doesn't make sense 🙃 At that point the soidiers, sailors, etc. will have a personal reason to fight, and it'll be on their home turf. Anyone diluted enough to think the military is gonna flip with treasonous actors... nope. Mabey some tiny group, but the military is larger than most people can imagine.

What is happening politically in America today is rough, it isn't pretty, it is not what most people want, but IT IS STILL CONSTITUTIONAL DEMOCRACY. Nothing illegal has been ordered from the top. Sure, this group today is using some underhanded legal maneuvers, but if and when the day comes where orders are being given to imprison citizens without due process or worse, it will be met with a resistance that has defeated entire nations it was unfamiliar with. And people want to say, "But they'll use PrIvAtE MiLiTaRy CoMpAnIeS". Dumb. No force on Earth has 1/10th the ammount of fight-ready personnel as the US military. Fuck, JSOC alone probably outnumbers all US PMCs combined, AND they are the deadliest force on planet Earth. So, again, anyone could try, but none will succeed in a takeover. And anybody who knows anything knows that, including the boogiemen you fear.

Indianapolis IN here - we had a weird couple of military jet flyovers in one day and this happened in the last 2 months. I live in a neighborhood near downtown and the sound was so sharp (like from breaking the sound barrier?) that it made my ears hurt. Homes were shaking.

Not what you asked but also sharing….I always kind of watch here because I’ve noticed increases in activity over the years during times of conflict. For example, over covid I was downtown in my dad’s apartment overlooking the train tracks and we saw one train with hundreds, like 200, tanks, communication vehicles, etc. passing through the city.

I'm in Northern Montana, and while we're very close to the Canadian border, I never saw border patrol sitting, watching the roads like I have seen them doing lately. I used to see it in sourthern California along the 15, but never up here.

I can't drive from one town to the next without seeing a white and green border patrol truck parked perpendicular to the road.

The reservation just recently installed license plate tracker cameras at the borders in order to locate drug runners. They bragged that this technology would allow them to communicate with law enforcement across the country. And that they would be able to follow any vehicle in real time. They promised that this information would be held in strict confidentiality. While I'm happy to see a massive effort to stop the flow of meth and fentanyl, I highly doubt that this is all they are going to use it for.
