Do private dentists recommend unnecessary work to make money?

My view is simple. NHS will cover all work however big or small for a small fee. They will give big lectures about going private. Don’t fall for it. It’s a scam. A crown on private costs north of £800. It costs around £200 maximum to make with the latest tech and materials. £600 is for the dentist to share with the practice. They usually take 50/50. If you are doing 2 crowns separately and not joint then work out roughly £200’as cost and tell them you will pay only £800 for both the crowns on private. If they say no walk out and shop online. Private you can go to any clinic in the country. I drove 4.5 hours to do mine for half the price. You can always bargain. Of we all bargain and walk out the process will come down. The dentists are the most crooked professionals out there in the world. Even worse than lawyers. A Hygenist will cost £79 on private basis. Never go to a Hygenist more than twice a year. The one I went to said I need to book in every 3 months. I told him it’s a nice try but No. see you in 6 months time. Be firm and tell them on their face that it’s a rip off. For more expensive procedures get a plane ticket, book a 5 star hotel and get it done abroad all inclusive for less then half the cost in the uk. Together we can bring about change to the industry. How is a dentist a millionaire working for just 4-5 years. The tax man needs to look at how they are evading tax with registering companies and playing the passing the money around companies.
