They should be free. They tried to charge me 10p for suace once, so I refused to move and blocked the drive thru. A manager came outside to talk to me, and fairplay, he held out for about 10 minutes till he realised I wasn't moving. I got a lot of abuse from the drivers behind but drove off content with my free sauce. I

Not sure when it happened but you now only officially get sauce if buying nuggets or something dippy. Officially if you ask for sauce unlinked to an eligible meal, you should be charged 10p. Maybe some staff still look the other way but I asked for an extra sauce at the drive-thru collection window this weekend (i.e. after ordering and paying) and was told I'd have to go into the store and buy some!

When I used to deliver food, I would always be asked to get a fuck tonne of sauces under the “instructions for driver” that’s meant to be for how to get to your address if it isn’t obvious. No so I can do mcducks job for them. Weirdest one was I was given an order from Starbucks and the instructions were in all caps, don’t forget x y and z sauces, I deliberately went into mcducks and asked for a load of sauces just to mess with the orderer. They gave me a weird look when I handed them over, I just said it was in the instructions and walked off

I had the same problem every time I ordered from McDonald’s. I even paid for extra sauce so it would be a specific line item on the receipt. Nothing. I ordered a 20 box of nuggets where you get four sauces, it’s the *main* reason to get nuggets. Still no sauce. I stopped ordering from McDonalds because it wound me up so much. Which, let’s be honest, isn’t the worst thing. My daughter wasn’t happy. But if we get a lunch delivery at the weekend it has to be Subway now or nothing.

McDonald's is potentially the worst thing to order on delivery. It doesn't travel well at all. Not to mention the issues like you say. On the other hand I think it's great when you go and grab it, and sit in.

If you ask at the intercom, it's pot luck whether you'll get your dips or not. I always ask at the collection window instead - if they're missing, they'll just grab them for you right there and then.
