We're gearing up for several asphalt overlay projects in 2025. This includes picking back up on the Hedgcoxe project that was delayed in 2024.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I think asphalt overlays is going to lead to a lot more road work in the future. I remember old parking lots in the 80s with asphalt and it was just tons of potholes over time. Made for the bumpiest car rides that made the speed bumps seem smooth. I also think that the current road repair crews are running a racket. They do such a poor job fixing the roads they have to be fixed every two or three years. Please someone tell me Iβm wrong or educate me.

The original overlay test strip on Independence between 15th and Parker is still going strong from nearly 10 years ago (I think it was put in during 2017?)

Before they started the wider project. That was the hands down best road in Plano for a long time.

Agree!!

You completely missed the word overlay. Itβs concrete underneath. Your potholed parking lot was not. You could google asphalt overlay and educate yourself in mere minutes.

Thank you for your patience. Well mine has run out! Parker Road was supposed to be completed in Summer 2024 and now it's continued road prep for future overlay in 2025

Wasn't that timeline just for the water line replacement? That's what I remembered reading but I could be wrong.
heinzenfeinzen@reddit
Could be but it's April 2025 and they continue to dig up and close lanes in that section of Parker Road including another complete closure of Roundrock a few weeks ago.

Huh, so that's how you pronounce Hedgecoxe.

I will always know it as hedgecox road
