Would love some thoughts about selling an Audi A5 and find a beater or wait until buying a new truck?

I've got a 2013 Audi A5. It's been a great car so far, but now that it's 10 years old and about to creep over 100k miles, I'm starting to worry about getting hit with Euro car problems. With it, i'm in a bit of a dilemma, as the whole reason for keeping the car this long was to keep it until I buy a new truck. Thing is, I'm waiting for the next generation Toyota Tacoma, but I don't want to buy the first year model and would like to wait for the refresh since that's generally around when they fixed most of the problems. That puts buying a Tacoma about 4-5years from now.
With that being said, I'm stuck with 2 options.
1. Sell the Audi A5 and find a beater. Thing is I'd be trying to find a fun project car that is easier to work on and it being much less computerized. Only thing though, this market is probably the worst to be buying a used car. Pros is that I would be picking up a MT, so I could have fun once again, possibly get back into track/autox and get back into wrenching.
2. Keep the Audi and hope nothing major happens until the Tacoma comes out. Thing is though, I've heard good things about my generation B8.5 A5, and it's EA888 being relatively reliable. But recently, I have had a few (albeit) cheap sensors go out and I swapped DIY.
Thoughts?
