Current status of MH370
Posted by esibangi@reddit | aviation | View on Reddit | 95 comments
Hi all,
Years ago i was very invested into the topic but at some point i stopped following the news about the MH370. Im wondering what is the current take on the destiny of MH370? Was there ever anything found or proven?

Someone should research barnacle growth and look at the stuff growing on the pieces “found” and totally not planted

Since posting this I’ve had a lot of new and weird interactions with strangers and dark vehicles constantly behind me when driving, specifically while going to work and other regular habits of mine.

No one's talking about the message they found on Inmarsat metadata which was ruled out as Interference initially.
The message read about its being dark and they taking us somewhere

If the pilot in charge crashed the plane into the ocean, why did the passengers phones ring for a week afterwards? Phones don’t ring at the bottom of the ocean. They also don’t stay charged for days let alone a week.
esibangi@reddit (OP)
Were these info ever verified?
Icy-Election7031@reddit
It was on the documentary about it
MoonageWebdream@reddit
Just because a phone "rings" for the dialer does not mean in any way the phone itself is actually ringing. You could probably call one of those phones now and it would ring for you. These documentaries for the most part are full sht.
Icy-Election7031@reddit
You’re the one that’s full of shit!! 🤣🤣 if a phone is off or no signal, it doesn’t ring. That’s a fact!

They landed most likely at North Sentinel island which has a mega underground structure where a few million people live
esibangi@reddit (OP)
I never heard of this island. Where can I read more about it?
Tomato4377@reddit
Wow lol I didn’t realize how old you post was my bad - North Sentinel is an island off Indian where a tribe lives - there’s a 3 mile block around the island and no one is permitted to go there. It’s one of the last remaining ancient tribes in the world
esibangi@reddit (OP)
So why would they go land there in that case? Why is there a block around it?
Tomato4377@reddit
I’m not sure if you’re joking or not hahaha I was kidding , the island is heavily monitored and protected and patrolled by the Indian government, it’s not that far off mainland , no plane landed there it’s literally a jungle
esibangi@reddit (OP)
No i was actually serious i had never heard of this island 😅
Ok_Geologist_448@reddit
Plane deliberately flown off course into the Indian ocean. The Indian Ocean is not really explored, and it's really deep. It's literally a "needle an a haystack".
Tomato4377@reddit
According to the myth busters a needle and haystack isn’t that hard to find so ?
SaroDude@reddit
It is literally an airplane in an ocean.
Ok_Geologist_448@reddit
You don't realize how big and deep the ocean is do you?
usedtobeanicesurgeon@reddit
Lol. He’s saying that It’s not literally a needle in a haystack. A needle in a haystack is literally a needle in a haystack.
It is literally a relatively tiny man-made object called a plane in the vastness of the Indian Ocean

usedtobeanicesurgeon@reddit
A common sign of not understanding the definition of the word “literally” is using the word “literally” too much.
SaroDude@reddit
Put another way, it's figuratively a needle in a haystack.
Kanyiko@reddit
1) Aircraft and occupants are still missing, 11 years after its disappearance.
2) Wreckage has since been found on multiple coastlines around the Indian Ocean.
3) The original secondary radar + ACARS pings show that the aircraft was deliberately deviated from its planned route and flown to a remote spot in the Indian Ocean, where it ultimately crashed due to fuel exhaustion, either crashing uncontrolled or deliberately ditched.
4) Further, recent analysis of WSPR logs has managed to extrapolate a more detailed route of the aircraft, which has allowed a further narrowing of the search location. This and other new data has spurred a new search.
5) The main suspect in the case remains the pilot in command that night. During a search of his house, the hard drive of his flight simulator was analysed, and it was found that one month before the disappearance, he simulated a flight deep into the Indian Ocean. The simulation ended on a course where the last ACARS handshake was registered.
6) A new search has been approved, however it was suspended yesterday (April 3rd 2025) due to strong, seasonal ocean currents. The search is planned to resume towards the end of this year when the ocean currents allow for a new search.
esibangi@reddit (OP)
Im wondering about the search. Because its been years since the plane is gone. Even if the plane is under water, wouldn’t it be buried under lots of soil or anything thats under the water?
BrianWantsTruth@reddit
Titanic has been sitting on the bottom for over 110 years and can still be visited. Of course they’re different oceans, and sure there would be changes to the wreckage over time, but it should be noticeable if the search is in the right area. How noticeable also depends on how badly it broke apart on impact. A full fuselage should be detectable on the sea floor for decades.
mohanbhagwat91@reddit
what about the semi conductor parts?
BrianWantsTruth@reddit
You’re suggesting that the semi-conductors decaying will make it harder to detect the fuselage on the sea floor?
mohanbhagwat91@reddit
hello Brian :). nope . I'm talking abt the theory of US trying to take control of this flight due to their interest in the classified semi conductor cargo in three going to Beijing

StrangePut2065@reddit
That article does not describe what the commenter (above my "Source?" comment) was describing.
Specifically, it says nothing of the US trying to take control of the flight due to interest in a supposed classified semiconductor in the cargo, which is what I was asking about.
khaleesi1968@reddit
The reason it says nothing about your lunatic conspiracy theory is because it focuses on the actual known facts and works deductively from there. You are welcome.
StrangePut2065@reddit
Uh, why do you think this is "my" theory, or that I even support it?
If you actually bother to read this thread, you can see the comment that I was responding to, which is an outlandish theory that I was asking the commenter to source to his theory, and YOU provided commented with a source.

DexterMorgansMind@reddit
Conspiracy theory hyperbole with literally zero proof of anything of this nature. It's also incredibly disrespectful to the families who lost loved ones to bring unfounded bullshit like this up.
Or did you mean UFOs tried to take the plane, or maybe it was a black hole that just opened up and swallowed the plane? Or maybe it was Santa Claus and his 8 little reindeer that hijacked the plane? I know, everybody landed at Diego Garcia and are partying! No no no, wait, it's hiding in the Cambodian jungle. That's right!
Pilot mass murder-suicide. End of story.
esibangi@reddit (OP)
Lol you are right
Kanyiko@reddit
Not necessarily. Aircraft wreckage is surprisingly light for its size, and all depends on the ocean surface.
When Air France 447 was found after two years, it was on very silty surface, but even so most wreckage was located on top of the silt.
Given Malaysian 370 would probably have broken up on impact and then gently foundered to the ocean floor, wreckage would most likely lie on top rather than being buried.
suhaasc01@reddit
Although we may never find out why, there’s way too much evidence that points to the pilot being the one to blame. Nobody else on that plane aside from him had the experience and knowledge to pull this off, and all the evidence aligns. He 100% did it
chrisosv@reddit
But a 6 hour delayed murder suicide?! Why? Why not just nose down when he was in control of the situation? Sounds far fetched. I just finished the Netflix documentary series. I’m not much of a conspiracy theorist but there are some interesting questions raised in it.
Distinct_Park_283@reddit
Maybe at that time the person is contemplating his/her life choices before going dark....
N0c7i5@reddit
Assuming the suicide is true, the only somewhat logical thing that comes to mind is he didn’t want anything to be found, and that somewhere in that area would do just that.
justwannaedit@reddit
Nah, I think he just wanted some peace, solitude and a feeling of control. He was cruising the ocean all alone at night, doing what he loved, and his idol and distant relative Anwar had just been arrested. He was having a poetic final flight.
-Krovos-@reddit
The Netflix documentary has been heavily criticised for not being accurate and just peddling conspiracy theories.

esibangi@reddit (OP)

Distinct_Park_283@reddit
My theory is ridiculous..planes disappearing is an alien's curiosity on how humans can build a flying vehicle...
BrewCityChaserV2@reddit
Only a few small pieces of the aircraft were recovered and they were found thousands of miles away from where it was thought to have entered the Indian Ocean. There is no definitive proof of what actually happened but circumstantial evidence suggests that the aircraft was deliberately flown off course for reasons unknown, although the general consensus is that it was likely an act of pilot suicide / mass murder.
esibangi@reddit (OP)
Last time i read about it some people were assuming the plane landed in the Diego Garcia island
Competitive_Show_564@reddit
The thing is do we have accurate flight path after it became invisible from the Primary Radar too?

alpoe251@reddit
I think it is a lost cause. They don't have a clue where the plane is. Just look how long it took them to find the titanic. I believe it was almost 75 years. And the southern Indian ocean is not that well searched by anyone. I wouldn't be surmised if Ocean Iffinity ever goes back to look. Looking pretty bleak.
Radio_Face_@reddit
There is a magnetic anomaly in that part of the planet. Not unlike Bermuda Triangle.
It’s not aliens in either case, but there seems to be an unusually high amount of navigational issues in these areas.
esibangi@reddit (OP)
Around Malaysia you mean? Isn’t that just cuz of the military bases?
Radio_Face_@reddit
I don’t think they know for certain what causes the anomalies.
Ecstatic-Garden-678@reddit
There are people that say that they are 'so' close to find it.
Any day now.
Hefty-Inevitable-660@reddit
They could make a very brief mini TV series about this. Maybe call it something like “The Curse of MH370 Island”. It would for sure only be a matter of a couple episodes before the truth is revealed.
Ecstatic-Garden-678@reddit
And there will be that mad scientist that knows better and claims everybody is wrong
esibangi@reddit (OP)
Fr? How is that?
TheDroolingFool@reddit
Officially, there hasn’t been much progress. A few confirmed debris pieces were found, and the conclusion remains that it likely crashed in the southern Indian Ocean. But no wreckage site, no black boxes, no definitive answers.
One of the more controversial theories is from Ashton Forbes. It’s definitely outside the mainstream, but what makes it stand out is that it attempts to account for all the available data, not just the parts that support the standard narrative.
He points to satellite footage that appears to show an aircraft, possibly MH370, mid-air with three unknown objects maneuvering around it, before a sudden bright flash and complete disappearance. The theory suggests the aircraft was taken under intelligent control and removed from conventional airspace in a way that current aviation frameworks don’t explain.
It’s definitely one of the more out there theories. Even if you don’t buy into it, it’s a fascinating rabbit hole to dive into just out of curiosity.
esibangi@reddit (OP)
Thats interesting i never saw those footage
Appropriate-Gas-1014@reddit
It's fake bullshit, don't waste your time.
Aliens didn't dissappear an airliner.
TheDroolingFool@reddit
It’s not an alien theory. Forbes specifically argues it was a covert US operation using classified tech, not extraterrestrial. Still a wild claim, sure, and fair enough if it’s not your thing, just pointing out it’s an unusual but interesting rabbit hole for those who enjoy that kind of deep dive. I did preface it as a wild theory!
Appropriate-Gas-1014@reddit
So "taken under intelligent control" by three mysteries orbs and "removed from conventional air space" isn't saying aliens did it?
