Best US Flight schools?

For context, I’m a Filipino. Which state has the best weather for flying? Which flying school has good accommodation? Can you include the prices? What school would you recommend the most—one with good scheduling, a nice fleet, and well-maintained aircraft?

Any thoughts on Paris Air & Skyborne?

No sorry. Just know that the airspace around VB airport is busy with training flights and I see foreign nationals all the time walking around together and in local restaurants. Dorm situation looks good too. Hope this helps. Fly safe!

Embry Riddle

😭😭

Why? Is it bad? I looked it up, it’s a university. I just finished my bachelor
BackgroundBonus7080@reddit
Embry Riddle is extremely and unnecessarily expensive. That’s the only reason. But if money is no concern then by all means go for it

Post in this sub if you want and we’ll look into some schools for you. If they make you pay for all of your training up front, don’t go. They could go bankrupt and you lose all your money. I’m at a college 141 school and pay in advance for each course. All courses are broken up into 2-3 parts and you pay for the expected amount it’ll cost. But paying for EVERYTHING up front is a 🚩

Thank you so much for the tip!! I’ll take note of that. I’m considering Academy of Aviation in Atlanta right now because I’ve heard they have a good weather.

Thrust flight in california.
UnusualCalendar2847@reddit
They have a location in California or you and I thinking of two different Thrust flights?
BackgroundBonus7080@reddit
I attended the Thrust Flight in Addison, Texas. Great school btw

I know plenty of people who went there who say the opposite. They are a shady operation, I interviewed there and they gave me a CJO which I accepted. Four hours later they said I was given a CJO by mistake, this was after they sent me emails about INDOC days and asking what size shirt I wear

What exactly makes a flight school shady? Like illegal business practices?
UnusualCalendar2847@reddit
There’s other things beside that. Not keeping up with mx and not interviewing potential instructors (I know a school that does that). If you look on Glassdoor people expect the owners favorites hate working at thrust

So did you end up getting a CFI gig somewhere else?

Anywhere in the Midwest between November and March. Great weather.

Southern California is, by far, the best place to learn to fly. It's not the cheapest place to live, but rentals are plentiful and often cheaper than other places thanks to competition. Instructions usually make more. Weather is almost always good, even in marine layer season when either ceilings are high enough to stay in the pattern, or lift in the afternoon. You also get a little bit of gentleman's IFR with instructors and fly in actual without it being overly complicated.
