Scottie didn’t really leave for a career change, I can make a post about why she really left if you think that it’d be interesting enough

I'd be interested to hear about it

She was on Kari and Tories podcast a few weeks ago. It was 75% the conflict with "the puppetmaster" (some producer who would mouth their lines to them behind the camera and was appearently...not well liled by the cast), and the rest because they did a few "stupid" myths like pyramid power where she felt it wasn't worth wasting 15 hr workdays on them. She mentioned the rumor about the battery thing when talking about the funniest reasons she read online for her "disappearing". Her favorite is appearently that she had a kid. Which isn't true either I guess lol.

I'm curious who the "Puppetmaster" is. I get the feeling it's Dan Tapster, but that's honestly only a guess.
Andrew4815@reddit
From the other context I thinoo it was the same guy who tried to kill adam with the battery. Cause they all speak fairly well of tapster, and talk about him by name, but they explicitly bleeped this guys name. The comments said it was some dude named Peter Rees, but i have no idea if thats actually true. I guess hed be listed on imdb right?

makes sense. seems like that producer did a lot of damage during their stint. thanks

Kari was only an intern in the first season when she wasn't on camera very much, but she was hired as build team once that was created. I don't think Scottie was ever an intern.
Jess Nelson was the intern after Christine and she didn't stay more than a couple of seasons either. I don't remember Christine being fired for anything, though I do remember reading that she didn't like working for Jamie.
The notorious dangerous experiment around this time was the baghdad battery where they hooked up to a cattle prod and the producer made them use it on Adam. Which was rumored to be why Scottie left which might be what you are thinking about, though it's been said since then that Scottie just didn't enjoy being on camera all day.

I think IIRC it was something to do with her not wanting to zip line with the plywood in the plywood glider myth.
I haven’t seen that episode in like 10+ years so I can’t remember if she did it or they used buster instead
They said the electric fence incident was the idea of the producer, but in the episode Tori says it was his idea, although this could have been scripted by the producer. I thought Adam would have been way more prepared for it as he asked whether they were gonna prank him with it and the build teams reactions were such a giveaway that it was the case

Yes she refused to launch herself to the zip line, she climbed up to the top but then she got scared.
I also remember Jamie telling to the camera that "Christine is an hard worker, unfortunately she doesn't know anything" in one of the first seasons' episode, when she used Jamie's lathe incorrectly.
Though there's no official source that says she was fired because of the plywood experiment episode, rather than for any other reason, having your boss saying to the nation that you don't know anything can be quite hard to swallow, maybe she just left at the end of the internship o Jamie chose not to convert her into an FTE, who knows.

I personally think that's just Jamie being Jamie. No filter and blunt as anything,
Natural-Ad-1016@reddit
Maybe, but I'd also be like, sorry, but eff you. Being disrespected on such a grand scale would be hard to deal with.
Yeah, Jamie is just being Jamie, but even as Adam will (in not so many words) tell you, that means a cranky, miserable ass hole, that can be hard to deal with. Even as a good a worker and a very smart man may he be.
