Netradyne Cameras in Swift cabs

So they use smart drive right now outward only and i just now saw an instagram post about this new camera. why do they hate us. wasn’t the point of trucking to be less micromanaged? to be free? really though is this a worse/better camera it’s probably literally gonna be so sensitive i feel like. They just recently moved from zonar to geotab but i like geotab honestly. hopefully netradyne isn’t terrible

>hopefully netradyne isn’t terrible. Amazon uses it on their day cabs, DSPs, and AFPs. So that’s all you gotta know really. It sucks ass. I got written up for sneezing cause my eyes were closed for too long apparently lol.

Oh yea. Our netradyne boxes at an afp have 4 cameras, road, driver, left, and right. It's super sensitive. Hard braking, hard acceleration, hard turning, 4 second following distance. Do you know how hard it is to keep a 4 second following distance in a truck that's governed at 65mph? It flips shit and dings you for following too closely immediately upon someone getting in front of you. The only way it is possible is hitting the brakes every time a vehicle gets in front of you, which is a fucking lot. And dangerous because cars and trucks are riding 5 feet off my ICC. One day, i counted the first 2 hours of my drive how many times someone got in front of me within 150 feet. It was 90 times. 150 feet isn't nearly 4 second following distance so these numbers should be even higher. I had to hit the brakes and slow down 90 times in 2 hours. That's every minute and 15 seconds i was hitting the brakes.

Its a skilled labor job with good demand that is relatively quick and easy to become qualified to do. If you got into it for any other reason, you got into it for the wrong reason. Trucking hasn't been free of oversight or management concerns in more than a decade.

i wish i could get that miles
