Fkn dumbasses can’t engineer a matching cruise speed

If you are an international engineer, I will slap the fucking shit out of you. Thanks.

Adaptive cruise control confuses CDL driver, more at 9
CR8Y_ol_Maurice@reddit (OP)
Sarcastic dumbass ignores the missing leader vehicle icon. More at his mom’s house.
Benstockton@reddit
Hey, that's me!
SharkNfested@reddit
I love when I go over a decline that lasts for not even 100ft and the truck decides “We coasting now, boy”
Terrible_Cheetah7195@reddit
Nah this shit is frustrating. I set my cruise as this speed for a reason, do that speed dammit.
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
Yep got my cruise set at whatever, it slows down because of the incline, then just randomly coasts 7 mph under what I set my cruise at
Mr_BinJu@reddit
Or coasting before you even hit the hill lmao
commacausey@reddit
The satellite logo means you have predictive cruise control. It uses GPS to determine if you are about to go up or down a hill. It would make my cruise go up and down a lot. I took the fuse out for that and now the cruise works normally.
CR8Y_ol_Maurice@reddit (OP)
Fkn thank you dude. I’m taking that fkr out as soon as I get back to the truck.
commacausey@reddit
If I remember right is a 5 amp cb fuse in location B6-E. It is labeled Predictive Cruise Control on the fuse panel lid.

Post another pic in 1,424 more miles

Thanks for the heads(&tails) up!

I’ve driven three newer trucks now (pete, kw & international) which all came programmed from the dealer like this. It was like pulling teeth to get the company fleet to do anything. The KW was the worse - I was climbing grades at 43mph bobtail despite being governed at 70 lol
Xidium426@reddit
This is probably a configuration setting inside of the ECU. Lots of engines have a strict or loose cruise control setting, loose gets better MPG but varies a lot more, strict gets worse but holds to the exact number more closely.
AreaLeftBlank@reddit
I don't have active cruise in my international and it does the exact same thing.
IIxNullxII@reddit
If your truck is going slower than the truck/vehicle in front of you, it's because your truck's adaptive cruise control is trying to increase the following distance. Once you are a certain distance, it will match the speed.
PichaelJackson@reddit
This is how normal trucks work, Internationals on the other hand just like to take a break every once in a while and drive 15 below the set speed for the fuck of it.
brown_leopard@reddit
nobody's in range there'd be another number on the bottom.
IIxNullxII@reddit
Ah then this is the intellegent path management in action. That is indeed annoying when you want a constant speed. Mine kicks in all the time, even on what appears to be level road.
scottiethegoonie@reddit
Who the hell cruises at 52??
Linfords_lunchbox@reddit
Daycabs in California
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
And the truck speed limit is 55mph state wide unless the speed limit in a specific area is actually lower.
Linfords_lunchbox@reddit
It's what the signs say.....
scottiethegoonie@reddit
Only daycabs driving 50 in CA are UPS and Amazon.
Human_Lecture_348@reddit
Someone that's driving on a 45-50mph road?
DumatRising@reddit
I didn't notice that in the international I had to drive a few months ago, but what I did notice was the governor was a right cunt. Company sets things as 67 on the pedal and 70 with cruise on. For the freightliners as long as the cruise is above 67 you can press the pedal down and it will accelerate to that speed overwriting adaptive cruise trying to slow you down, with the international if you press the pedal down at all it will slow down to be governed at 67. Which made passing anyone going 65-69 the most painful thing cause you had to get over outside of the radar range and then cry everytime someone jumped in front of you and the cruise tried to "build following distance". Some days, I decided it just wasn't worth it.
username_fantasies@reddit
At Swift, they assigned me an International. I hated its CC. And jakes.
Striking_Weekend_282@reddit
Cruise on mine started working alot better when I took out the Sat Comm fuse
PackagingMSU@reddit
Lmao it’s April 2nd my dude
West_Imagination3237@reddit
Adaptive control with out distance management. Damn company cascaidias get me every time.
gizzmo1963@reddit
Most fleets have bullshit program for fuel milage. Where speed can fluctuarate 3- 5 miles per hour before the computer cuts back in to give it fuel
LonleyWolf420@reddit
International is the worst at this..
But because of it there MPG numbers look good to companies and is why so many of these POSs are on the road
gizzmo1963@reddit
Fleets won't take time to correct. It's easily done in computer settings. But any manufacturer will tell you now 10% anything less they don't care.
LonleyWolf420@reddit
It's not even that most the time.. its that they WANT it to do this for their sake of fuel cost so they won't do anything to fix it
gizzmo1963@reddit
It's all about the $$$ with big carriers. They could care about anything else.
Mr_BinJu@reddit
By that yoy mean your truck automatically goes the speed as the person infront? If so, my truck does
mdstratts@reddit
What this tells me is A) you didn’t bother to RTFM and B) nobody told you that the 52 with the three green lights indicates that you shouldn’t go over 52 (or so) when in Cruise Control. It’s part of the Adaptive Cruise Control system common in modern fleet trucks.
Denieilo@reddit
Not true
NisshoTatsu@reddit
Is that what the left number means? I just assumed it was the indicator as to what you had your cruise speed set to. I also run in an international (fleet truck sadly) and every time I set CC it always stays at 65 (governed speed) no matter what the conditions. Loaded, unloaded, bobtailing, etc. I figured the adaptive part of the CC was when you have a vehicle in front of you going at a slower speed so the truck automatically changes your cruise speed to match.
freightliner_fever_@reddit
this is why i don’t use the cruise in mine. hammer down 24/7. unless, yunno, i shouldn’t be going the speed the truck is governed at
Chamber53@reddit
Well, is this a fleet truck? If so, I wonder if the maintenance crew can help. On another note, dust off your freaking dash, driver!!!!!!
South-La-Trucker1@reddit
International the 13 letter shit spreader
