Charge $15 a damn toll booth only for your road to be complete shit. $45 for 83 miles. Not even Oklahoma is that full of shit.

I didn't mind that stretch once I learned how to run for parking to work but damn I would've been mad if I was the one paying the toll

Dude... And they have the shittiest parking options and on either side of it kinda sucks too. I give myself like 4 hours to go from Charleston to VA lol. It's dogshit. There's always something awful happening since the i40 closures. There's never parking at any of the places after like 4 pm except Beckley which is fine now that it's completed but still whatever. Makes me mad how slow the tolls are too. Like you gotta go 3 mph thru the thing like Indiana it's 2025 and at that much money they can't figure out electronic tolling lul

Yeah you right good luck finding parking near there

If you're going into n Carolina that Sheetz at Mt airy is like ... Perfection. Otherwise park in Ohio before you get to i77 or the TA in hurricane heh

I77 through West Virginia, or West Virginia turnpike, started out as a state highway, and then later became I77 after the creation of the National interstate system.
The initial roadway was a two lane roadway that cost nearly a billion dollars in today’s money to create because the terrain is very inhospitable for roadway construction. Later it was upgraded to interstate standards which cost another billion dollars in today’s money.
They are quite proud of their road but just a couple years ago the tolls were relatively cheap.
There really isn’t any other alternative route through that area that isn’t hazardous and much longer in transit time.

The whole of I-77 in general kind of sucks. It’s Cleveland, then methland from the outskirts of Canton/Akron to the state line. Then highway robbery with tolls and shanty towns, then the big brother airplane cops and the tunnels into Virginia. After that, you have the clusterfuck that is the 77/81 concurrence, and then some epic grades to the NC state line. There’s a stretch in NC that isn’t bad, but once you start skirting the Charlotte metro, it’s a mess all the way down to Columbia.
West Virginia is the dingleberry cherry on the shit sundae that is driving 77. I moved from Michigan to NC and later lived in SC, so I know that highway like the back of my hand. I fucking hate it.

When on personal business, I do everything I can to avoid driving through Oklahoma and Nebraska.

That's what happens when the government keeps cutting taxes on the capitalist pigs, who fly over the highways. Everyone else has to pay to make up for it.

Shit, if I could afford my own plane, I’d be flying too.
