Is this a good deal? Xlt w v6 file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/b6/06/ACC7D5CC-26FD-401D-B643-1CCE66F835FC/image_0.jpg
caterham09@reddit
I mean you can get literally every Ford outside of maybe a raptor R at less than msrp right now. Sometimes even 5 figure discounts.
PaulTheMerc@reddit
maverick?
Shmokesshweed@reddit
Just about all under sticker, especially if EcoBoost or near 40k.
Larcya@reddit
My local Ford dealer has 12 mavericks all under MSRP. And about 10 Rangers all under MSRP. Even has 2 Ranger Raptors under MSRP too.
They don't seem to be moving. Can't say I blame people for not wanting to take a risk when they don't know if they will have a job next week.
Shmokesshweed@reddit
Shit, wish they were up here in Washington. Might pick one up lol. The dealers around me want like 4-10k. Some are still smoking crack. It's a cool truck, but it's just a Ford at the end of the day.
treefitty350@reddit
It's literally the poster boy for everything wrong with modern trucks
LordofSpheres@reddit
It has almost a foot of suspension travel, is locked front and rear, has 400 horsepower, and starts under $60k (for now). For what it is, it's fantastic, and guess what?
You can still buy a normal ranger.
treefitty350@reddit
Point proven. Bigger is not better especially when it's one of the "cheaper" trucks.
LordofSpheres@reddit
Is the argument that the ranger is 'everything wrong with modern trucks' or is it proof that trucks can be smaller and better? I'm lost.
treefitty350@reddit
You're calling the ranger small?
LordofSpheres@reddit
Compared to an F-150 or F-150 Raptor, absolutely. Furthermore, what makes it better than a standard Ranger is only possible specifically because of the added width. The Ranger Raptor is a compelling package for anyone in the market for an off road pickup, midsize or otherwise.
What I'm confused by is the apparent contradiction - if the ranger raptor is emblematic of everything wrong with the pickup market, because it is large, even though it is substantially smaller than its full size brother...
treefitty350@reddit
You're very close to getting it my friend. The "smaller" truck is a fucking behemoth.
LordofSpheres@reddit
Is the argument that the ranger is 'everything wrong with modern trucks' or is it proof that trucks can be smaller and better? I'm lost.
velociraptorfarmer@reddit
Don't they have a wild-ass Watts link rear end as well?
LordofSpheres@reddit
They do, yes.
Larcya@reddit
If it had a sunroof as an option I probably would have picked one up a few months ago.
But alias it does not and it's basically a requirement for me.
phorkin@reddit
They may be 24s, I know local dealers only had a few of the 25s when I was shopping around. The 25s were on a stop sale, or I would have picked up a tremor my local dealer had when I bought my 25 XLT. Best I could get was about $800 off sticker and discount for one of the manufacturer add-ons I didn't want. Total came out to $37k OTD with the 4k tow, XLT Luxury, and 360. I went through like 15 dealers in my area, even a local Ford truck volume dealer. My local dealer matched that volume dealers price to earn my business. I didn't want to spend that much, but AWD hybrid and a nice long warranty on it... Yeah I'm happy for now. That dealer still has 9 2024 Mavericks when they've sold all three I had looked at. It hasn't even been a month, so the 25s are moving albeit slower. They have 2x Bronco Raptor 2024s marked down into the $80k range I believe.
needmoresynths@reddit
For reference I just bought a '25 Maverick that came out to $36.5k ish in the spec I wanted and my employee discount got me $2100 under msrp and a set doc fee of $150. You could probably get that right now on one of the '24s that's been sitting on a lot until the stop sale was recently lifted but you're not going to get employee pricing on a '25 without having a valid employee pin number. Some dealers will give x plan pricing to everyone though, which is a little under msrp.
Shmokesshweed@reddit
X Plan was something like $800-900 off on my 2022 Lariat Lux with a few options that came out to 34k MSRP. The biggest discounts I'm seeing on the 2025s are the most expensive models, especially non-hybrid/Tremor.
caterham09@reddit
Can actually find small discounts on the higher trim Mavericks. Xl and xlt are still only going to be msrp but lariat can be had for under sticker.
Unusual_Advisor_970@reddit
Just bought maverick hybrid xlt for a little under msrp. Kind of a rush Monday for these at local dealer.
airfryerfuntime@reddit
You still have to get the fucking Lariat for push button start, so still an additional like $6000 or whatever.
PlatinumGoon@reddit
Hardly any markup on Maverick so not much room to move on those
SaintTastyTaint@reddit
What about a ranger lariat with the 2.7?
PlatinumGoon@reddit
Bit more markup on Ranger but still not a huge amount
PaulTheMerc@reddit
interesting. Is there a resource to see what the markups are like?
Shmokesshweed@reddit
The order guide for each model is generally your best bet. There's also money they get for hitting sales numbers, etc. that consumers don't have real insight into. These order guides are generally available on popular car forums as PDFs.
PlatinumGoon@reddit
Not sure, as I know people in the business. check out Edmunds sometimes they show invoice pricing
HowdyandRowdy@reddit
bronco raptors at some dealers are discounted 22k.
canikony@reddit
huh... 22k off a braptor... tempting
PyramidSchemePA@reddit
it's like walking into Kohls. everything is overpriced but you see the "FOR SALE" sign thinking you're getting a deal but you're just paying the price that it should have been in the first place. The Bronco Raptor should not have been a six figure car in the first place. 70-80k MSRP is much more reasonable which is what the "discounts" are effectively putting them at.
I personally wouldn't pay over 65k for a Bronco Raptor with those Kim K hips. it just looks gross to me
StepsOnLEGO@reddit
That's just the price they should have been. The MSRP on those is absolutely pants-on-head bonkers.
caterham09@reddit
I was speaking about raptor R's. I know the bronco raptor is discounted heavily
ban-please@reddit
^(*U.S. shoppers)
hells_cowbells@reddit
Too bad they don't have much I would be interested in buying. Ford: Quality is job none.
steakpienacho@reddit
As somebody who has to daily a truck at this point, the F150 is just miles better than the competition. They all suck, but the Ford sucks the least right now
theSambar@reddit
Could you expand on this? Why would you personally pick the f150 over a Silverado? -not a truck person
whenthewindbreathes@reddit
3 reasons:
1) Ford has the only reliable powertrain after they fixed their 10 speed auto. Compare to the unproven Hurricane and Chevy V8s blowing up within 24 months because of head issues.
2) No matter the trim, Ford's interiors are modern and up to date. GM puts an incredibly ugly interior from the last generation in lower trim trucks.
3) Although Pre-Hurricane RAMs have amazing ride quality and better interior across the board; they failed to close the loop on their advantage because of incredibly unreliable radios and lack of hands free self drive that supported towing.
theSambar@reddit
Wow… appreciate yall both… always been a gm guy and yall just wrecked my world ;/ Where im at Chevys and Subies are common fleet cars so Caddy’s and GMC has always been my aspirational brand? Idk if that makes sense. Most Rams I see are Bug horns and fords are platinums so I just assumed Chevy was what’s up. I guess their affordable fleet for a reason 😅
whenthewindbreathes@reddit
Fleet deals are completely different - it's often a lowest bidder type thing and often considers the vendor's ability to service and support as well.
borden5@reddit
The gas tank size alone is a big factor for me. 36 gallon vs 24 for silverado.
hells_cowbells@reddit
I don't really want a full size truck. I'm happy with my Frontier. I admit I do dig the Maverick, though. I also like the Bronco Sport. Given the quality issues they have had lately, I just don't trust anything Ford makes right now outside the F150.
emceelokey@reddit
Too bad it's still Ford products.
JF0909@reddit
My brother just leased a new Lightning Platinum for $500/month.
intern_steve@reddit
How much down?
JF0909@reddit
$0. Traded in his old truck for $9k and that's it
SpartanSig@reddit
So $9,000 down?
asdfoneplusone@reddit
In fact, every car is free after you've given the dealer a lot of money
txmail@reddit
We call that the free car glitch.
Time-Maintenance2165@reddit
There's a good chance that truck was worth quite a bit more than $9k.
JF0909@reddit
It wasn't. Best offer he got before going to the ford dealer was $7k. It was a work truck with high miles and lots of rust.
izwald88@reddit
Which is absolutely insane. That dude got ripped off to the extreme.
Miserable-Bluejay-67@reddit
The truck was actually worth $14k so 14k down. The lease was two years so they’re really paying north of $1000 a month.
natesully33@reddit
Lightning deals are crazy in general right now, that's how I ended up in one. Besides the leases, you can also get 0% APR on both it and the Mach-E along with deep discounts off MSRP.
izwald88@reddit
I've been wanting to lease a Lightning as well. But there's none around me.
But I keep seeing posts from people getting insane lease deals on them.
natesully33@reddit
What area? When I was looking over a wide area, Colorado and Wyoming dealers even had plenty. They did just start sending 2025 model year trucks to dealers though.
izwald88@reddit
Northern Illinois. The Chicago region has some, as does Milwaukee. I just wish I could buy local. Plus I have no idea how to negotiate those sweet lease deals I see people get.
natesully33@reddit
Dealers near me are desperate to move their EVs. I just asked for what they'd give me and was pleasantly surprised. You can then push harder, of course, see how badly they really want to move inventory.
Huh, I figured if Wyoming has Lightnings everywhere would, it's not exactly an EV hotspot up there...
izwald88@reddit
I just assume the rural states have more trucks in general. But you're not wrong. Illinois loves EVs.
Removebeforeflight88@reddit
How’s the lightning ownership been so far?
natesully33@reddit
Amazing. Fast, smooth, high build quality, CarPlay. Range is fine, a bit longer than the real world range of the Y I had before actually. I think they are underrated since the other EV trucks kind of steal the spotlight, but seriously, Ford put effort in to both it and the Mach-E.
Ran4@reddit
That's kind of absurd. Where I live it's more expensive than a base 911.
The-NaterTot@reddit
What I am wanting to nab, if possible. Especially that cheap. Here’s hoping
Shmokesshweed@reddit
Non paywall: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-ford-offer-across-board-232749332.html
Also hey Farley, some of your dealers are already offering well below employee pricing on models like the Ranger and they're still not moving units fast enough.
TopHatTony11@reddit
Because it’s still cheaper or similar to get an F-150. If you don’t mind the size, it’s a no brainer to step up.
Shmokesshweed@reddit
Yup. The F-150 STX is a pretty damn good value at around 42k imo.
bgarza18@reddit
No heated seat, I sleep :(
Shmokesshweed@reddit
Understandable. The ass warmers in my Maverick get used often. One of those things that I thought I'd never use, but I was wrong.
txmail@reddit
I miss my old car with a heated steering wheel. I thought it was stupid... but I used it all the time and it was glorious. It is like cooled seats or a bidet. Once you go without, it becomes painfully obvious how awesome it was.
phorkin@reddit
Absolutely love mine, and the steering wheel is just... Chef's kiss when it's 20* outside.
about_treefity@reddit
Cheapest one within 100 miles of me is $48k
Shmokesshweed@reddit
One near me.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they require you to finance and make it up on the backend with the interest rate.
about_treefity@reddit
Ahhh a $10000 discount off the $52k MSRP, that'll do it .
knight_prince_ace@reddit
Random: I test drove a F-150 a while back and I felt small, and the interior was MASSIVE (For context, I'm a tall being)
natesully33@reddit
I've owned trucks before but seriously. It's like I'm driving a really cozy tiny house floating on a magic carpet. With a giant frunk too for even more space on my particular F-150. I wonder why they sell so many...
NotoriousCFR@reddit
The cab space is amazing. So much room for activities, even in the extended cab version. Interior storage is wild too - cup holders everywhere, huge door pockets, and the center storage box under the armrest (assuming you don't have the bench seat) is ENORMOUS. I have a jar of bungee cords, half a dozen heavy duty ratchet straps, multiple pairs of work gloves, and all sorts of other shit in mine, with room to spare still. The armrest itself is also big enough to put a hot food/salad bar tray, a clipboard, a laptop or tablet on top of. Honestly once you get used to it everything else feels claustrophobic.
TopHatTony11@reddit
I’m pretty sure I could move a small apartment in my back seat.
NotoriousCFR@reddit
The back seats in my supercab are more practical than they have any right to be. Between the suicide doors for easy loading/unloading, the seats folding up and out of the way, and the floor being flat (no hump in the center), you can fit all sorts of shit back there. And that's not even the super crew
Eyeronick@reddit
It's because it uses the same cab as the f250/350. The front clip is different but everything between the A-pillar and C-pillar is essentially identical. It's cavernous, I love ours.
N0Name117@reddit
Technically, it's more correct to say that the F250/350 use the 150 cab since the cab is pretty much the same one that launched with the 2015 F150. The interior has changed but the cab itself has only seen slight updates and interior dimensions are all the same to my knowledge.
Eyeronick@reddit
Technically correct :)
Riverrattpei@reddit
Which is the exact reason the Ranger died off in the first place
Loki240SX@reddit
As a former Ford employee, that discount was barely anything
7148675309@reddit
Got $4k off an Explorer 20 years ago!
balthisar@reddit
Depends on margin. You'll only get about $2200 off a stripped down Ecoboost Mustang. It was about $8000 on my Expedition Platinum. Ford doesn't take a loss on these, but it gets pretty close to cost.
tbenoit94@reddit
Honestly. I thought about buying a Mach E for a split second until I realized D plan did basically nothing
chucchinchilla@reddit
Last time I recall employee pricing for all was the 2008 recession. Cool.
Necessary-Score-4270@reddit
I remember that happening my dad (ford employee) said it wasn't quite as good as the real employee discount. No idea if that was true or not. But no real reason to lie about it.
busyHighwayFred@reddit
There are tiers. X plan is the most common one I think
Regaltiger_Nicewings@reddit
Ya, X plan is easy to get. A Plan is the one you want.
Thefrayedends@reddit
Yes, which a decade ago was pretty much d dealer cost plus 500.
maniac365@reddit
its still almost the same but doc fees are capped at 150 now.
JoseCansecoMilkshake@reddit
My sister bought a Bronco last year and it was on
MechMeister@reddit
I could have gotten a brand new GMC Canyon 5 speed for like $12k out the door. 20 year old me was dumb and didn't do that lol.
doughball27@reddit
Yeah the second time around it’s going to be even worse!
Tarrifs plus inflation plus an economic slowdown and federal cuts in spending plus a trade war with Canada and Europe?
This is like basically planning to purposely put ourselves into a Great Depression.
Pad_TyTy@reddit
Oh yeah, I remember that too... 🤦🏽
glocks9999@reddit
I work for ford corporate the best employee pricing (A plan) is still complete shit.
Takes maybe like $3000 of a $40000 mustang for example
corkscrew-duckpenis@reddit
An old Saturn innovation, dusted off occasionally by modern manufacturers as a helpful indicator of recession.
Musclecar123@reddit
Ford makes terrible vehicles now.
I wouldn’t buy a Ford unless there was literally no other option .
thatgymdude@reddit
A shame there is nothing from them I would want to buy minus a Shelby GT500 which will probably be excluded.
JoseCansecoMilkshake@reddit
if it makes you feel any better, employees also don't get a discount on that
Hopeful_Morning_469@reddit
I bought a brand new ford in October. Ffs.
TheAppropriateBoop@reddit
that's something good
The-NaterTot@reddit
Just heard this from a dealer as I was looking for a Lightning. Seems to be the case. Not sure what sort of discounts can be expected.
Daddgonecrazy@reddit
Not an employee but I work at a company with one of the largest fleets of fords. Wouldn’t mind a cheap ass bronco.
YellowFogLights@reddit
Cord does employee pricing events every year in Canada. Is not a thing they were doing in the USA?
They did it so often that as a Ford employee it was pretty farcical.
BlazinAzn38@reddit
Not across the board but you can often get things for 5%-10% below MSRP anyways. This is probably most impactful for the low margin vehicles that dealers don’t have much room to move on like those bottom end Mavericks and Escapes.
Crazy_Donkies@reddit
Might by a Mustang GT with my profits from today.
Hotspur2924@reddit
A-Plan for everyone!!
