Was sad my overpriced "raspberry oranges" (they are blood oranges) had hardly any flavor or tartness, so I brought my own. Added pomegranate molasses and Tajin, came out looking like something an alien would eat. 9/10 for flavor though.

Pomegranate molasses is the most sour and flavorful compound known to man. The result looks like something a Klingon might enjoy.

Ah yeah I've had some interesting hit-and-miss experiences with blood oranges. Lots of variations in color and sweetness/bitterness.

Mmmm...grenade molasses. Quite a booming flavor.

You're not wrong. If you ate a spoonful of it your tastebuds might actually explode.

It's really good as a sub for cran in a Cosmo

That sounds great, I think I'll try that. I've had it on vanilla ice cream, in an Italian cream soda, and on various fruits. I haven't tried cooking with it yet but I bet I could make something really tasty with it as the secret ingredient.

Ohh it sounds super interesting in ice cream

It's actually really good with French vanilla ice cream.

Yeah, blood oranges don't have as strong of a flavored as regular oranges.

These were weak even for blood oranges. Only 2 out of 8 had any good flavor. Back to Cara Cara oranges if I'm feelin' fancy.

Upon first glance I thought they were some weird kind of slugs.

I had a similar thought. Like wow, this is not aesthetically pleasing at all once you chuck it in a bowl.

I honestly thought this was a crab at first glance.

Bucket of raspberry crabs.
