AO-26

Designed in early 60s, by Peter Andreevich Tkachev, AO-26 was an Integrally supressed submachine gun designed to use subsonic 7.62x25 rounds with special, heavier bullet. Was noticably lighter than AKM with PBS-1 supressor equipped. It seems that only one example had been made. You may remember that guy from his other designs such as AO-46 or AO-63 (famous double barreled AK).

7.62x25 with modern projectile designs > 5.7x28 imo …… as far as sub rifle cal pdw/pistols go …

How much heavier was the bullet to make it subsonic? Seems like not starting with a super fast pistol bullet would be a good idea.

Longer bullet leaves less space for powder
paucus62@reddit
as well as being more massive, making it slower if pushed by the same powder charge

That seems like a really good weapon, actually. PSA PLEASE
