Misery loves company - how many Hoosiers, Ohioans, Kentuckians, etc. are losing out on big plans this weekend?

Salty about the weather, yet again. Despite having recently earned my IR, I'm still getting grounded by "historic" storms and weather cells. I was looking forward to some actual instrument time, but now it's not likely. Anyone else feeling the same for the weekend? My plans were to go to Pittsburgh then NYC for the Hudson SFRA. Maybe next month!

NY here and we're getting drenched, don't have an IFR ticket yet, but I am certain when I start on that it will be clear skies for a thousand miles in every direction

I flew back from Los Angeles last Sunday night as the big round of storms moved through the midwest. We were headed for the central Ohio area and we saw the storms were gonna get there at the same time we were. So we made the decision to divert to IND and sit there for maybe an hour and then continue on to home. We explained to the passengers why we were diverting and some of them understood and were grateful, while others were inexplicably pissed off. But hey, if they didn't like diverting they would have HATED flying through the boiling clouds of death. But that's springtime for ya!

Come to NY. You'll be fine here.

I'd love to but I have to escape southern indiana first lol

New England not much better. I got up today thankfully, but the struggle is real.
OP the Hudson corridor is amazing. Shocking that an idiot like me can legally do that trip. I recommend getting flight following WAY in advance so they can clear you into the Bravo as it keeps you above the weekend warriors and heli traffic that is insane.

I have 2 IR students who are getting frustrated that it's good IMC but potential icing so no training

Trained out of HFD myself. Someone remind me again what’s it like to fly a plane.

here in the bay area we sometimes get wind and ceilings that ground us maybe 1-2 weeks total out of the year so I feel your pain

There are days/weeks like this where I can promise you, you’d rather be on the ground
