Advice on tires ?

My tires on 2024 Camry are currently on thread level 4 for the front two and 4,5 on the rear. I need to drive to Atalanta which is around 750-800 miles from my location. Do you think I should change my tires first and then drive . Here's a quote which I got form my local dealer. What do you all think about this ? Need insights?

I would run them out for the trip and replace them when your back depending on what tires are on currently the tread shouldn't go down much at all the price for the tires isn't to bad either

how many miles does your car have? pretty soon for 4 tires.. but i wouldnt worry, do the trip first and get tires after with that tread you should last at least 5k more

31000 as of now

hybrid camry? but yeah i used to work in service and i would always tell people if you're around 4-5/32nds you can make it another 5k unless you drive hard

FWD Le , and it’s mostly on dry roads and wet roads only on rainy days .

You’re safe for now but you need to be careful in heavy rain as your risk for hydroplaning is higher. DOT specifies 2/32 as the throw-away depth for tires. At a fleet i worked at we did 4 front and 2 rear - but those had duallies in the back.

Sounds like good deals on tires. Safest thing to do is get them replaced before trip. You can also save on disposal if you keep tires for spare or just in case. I'm used to measuring thread depth in /32nds so I don't know the levels you are talking abt.

My bad I meant 4/32 and 5/32
Stock-Inspector4704@reddit
5/32nds I'll ride, anything lower is iffy for how I drive. I'd replace all of them just to have the same mileage, especially if you can. I'd also keep at least the better-looking one if you have a spare with a rotted tire or anything.

I have the same miles on all , so if I replace imma do them all and also i am a lowkey slow accelerator nothing crazy or flooring so?
Stock-Inspector4704@reddit
Accelerating is less of an issue. Stopping is where you want to keep an eye.

Noted , will keep an eye out
Stock-Inspector4704@reddit
Ok, just remember to put it back in.

I would continue driving on what you have, except if you think the current deal is too good to pass up. Also, while I personally wouldn’t ever pay for used tires with “thread level” 4 or 5, someone penny wise and pound foolish will, so you might be able to recoup a bit of your lost opportunity for additional use of your current tires by selling them for a few bucks. If you wear them down any farther you’d instead be paying to dispose of the old ones.

Looks like a good deal, about $100 less out the door than it could cost me for the same from Tire Rack on my Solara mounted including roadhazard and treadwear warranty.
So 2 questions for the dealer: Is roadhazard included/extra/how much? And do they honor treadlife warranties and what are the maintenance/rotation requirements?

If it was me, I’d drive on them.
If you see snow, throw some Michelin crossclimate 2 on it and call it a day.
If no snow, those Yokohamas wouldn’t be my first choice but are fine tires and have a long tread warranty.

Gotcha , the only thing that is making me think is about that deal , what do you think ?
