(Good) Satire has the effect of causing the subject to reconsider their priors without collateral social stigma being promoted. Rep Self isn't in the audience here, and isn't likely to be in the audience of this exchange.

Representative Self isn't in the audience of this exchange and is highly unlikely to ever be part of the audience, so the insult doesn't find its target there.

What target it does find is an audience who see the priors established that "misgendering someone with intent around the subject of transgender people is acceptable for some circumstances", which you can understand is my concern - not just as a transgender woman, but as the transgender woman who devoted several years of her life to hauling Reddit into kicking out the transphobes et al and adopting the Moderator Code of Conduct in order to keep them off.

To put it another way - I hope for the totality of such conversations to uphold the values I believe in, and not that they embrace the practices which are employed to deny I and my siblings our dignity and autonomy over our identities.

Texas has a common law right of publicity from misappropriation, (Texas Property Code, T. 4, Ch. 26) which right I and others rely upon to protect ourselves from misgendering and deadnaming. Under such circumstances I cannot accede that another's right to same be abrogated. The law is the law, and applies equally to all.

I wish for his infamy, in his choice of actions and inactions, to be inextricably tied to him for all time, and not to some random woman who happens to share his surname, or mistakenly assigned to the woman representative from Texas, Rep Johnson, who was so privileged to have immediately retorted to Rep Self's highly inappropriate invocation of the Nazis, here.

And I can certainly understand the desire for an emotional catharsis —

I simply would object to predicating such catharsis on normalising the premise that being a woman is an insult.

That tends to leverage and amplify an ambient misogyny, which I understandably take offense to.

And as I have fought and worked hard to be a woman, as well as survive three murder attempts which were undertaken to dissuade me from being a woman and speaking up for women in general (as well as all others who would be targeted based on identity or vulnerability), I think you can understand where my concern here comes from.
