Pigeonholed experienced developer seeking for advice

I'm an experienced developer (15yoe) and feel pigeonholed in my actual job: 10 years working on outdated proprietary technologies.
In interviews I tend to do well in technical questions (leetcode style) and behavioral ones but end up bombing the parts where we discuss past projects and modern development practices (unit testing, modern architectures, cloud providers ...)
I did some pet projects involving modern technologies but I feel at my level of experience personal projects don't really cut it with interviewers.
Anyone who was in similar situation and was able to get out of it?
Any advice?
Edit: spacing
