Trigger Sticking Issue in Russian machine Gun Model 1954
Posted by Er3299@reddit | ForgottenWeapons | View on Reddit | 8 comments
I have a Russian machine gun, model 1954, and its trigger gets stuck. When I fire the first round, the trigger stays back and doesn’t return unless I manually push it forward to fire the next round. I have to do this between each shot. I cleaned it with spray, but the issue remains. If anyone has knowledge about this, please help.

Whats going on in this post lol, i have never ever seen anyone call an AK47 a "russian machine gun model 1954" and my guy is talking about a sticky trigger whilst posting zero pictures of the fire control group. Am i having a stroke or something

Pretty sure this a person in the Middle East lol. He should just get a replacement fire control group if its available in his country

Yeah i saw later that eng is not a strong language of his, ah well. The thing is if the issue is as i suspect then changin fcg parts may not solve the issue, if the problem lies in a loose fire selector.
Try this on an AK: fully depress the trigger, and while keeping it down, push the safety back up towards FA and safe. If you do that then your trigger will not reset fully when you let go.
To diagnose if OP has the same issue i would shoot until trigger jam and then, without touching the trigger again, try pushing the safety back down to semi. If that unbinds the trigger then the issue is a loose fire selector, and thus the selector should be bent inwards toward the receiver more such that it engages solidly with the fire selection grooves on the receiver

I don’t think any of the parts you photographed could be responsible for the trigger failing to reset.

So, that isn't a "Model 1954". That's a Russian Type II AK that was built in 1954. As far as your issue, it sounds like you are missing a 10 cent spring in the FCG

Would probably help to see the top down view of the hammer and trigger springs inside the receiver with the dust cover off and bolt out

Cut the rivets out and disassemble everything to its constituent parts, then send us a picture so that we can see the problem better.
